On Sunday, The Amazing Race 14 will begin. And every season on here, there's been a Be The Amazing Racer segment in the Bashers subforum. I wonder who's responsible for it and if it'll be up again this season. If so, I'll take part as either Cara, Jamie or Tammy -- I'm not certain which at the moment.

Seana has hosted the Be the Amazing Racer threads for the past few seasons, but I haven't seen her around here much lately. Hopefully she'll come around soon to get this going. If not, maybe someone else will volunteer?

Since it looks like this is turning into a signup thread, I'll take Amanda.

Okay, since this has turned into a sign-up thread, I'll announce the players and ask someone to write sigpics for the various people. So far, here are the people who've signed up:

Pepe Le Pew's going to play Luke,
Max Headroom will be playing Amanda,
Molaholic will be playing the Native Greeter,
Crazy Wabbit's going to take either Cara or Jamie,
and I'm taking Tammy.

Crazy Wabbit, you need to choose which redhead you're taking, and we need people to take the following roles:

Amanda's boyfriend Kris, either Cara or Jamie (whoever Crazy Wabbit doesn't choose), Luke's mother Margie, Tammy's brother Victor, Brad and his wife Victoria, Christie and her partner Jodi, Jennifer and her boyfriend Preston, LaKisha and her sister Jennifer, Linda and her husband Steve, Mark and his brother Michael, Mel and his son Mike and of course Phil Keoghan.

I have thought for some time now that I needed to take a break. I use the same words and phrases all the time. I can't come up with anything fresh. But I didn't want to disappoint those people who want to play by quitting. It was wrong of me not to say so in the first place so everyone else had enough time to make arrangements. This is a great game (remember to say a quiet thank-you to Angelfood for inventing it) and it deserves a host with more enthusiasm. Someone new. Well done, Belle - and you're a newb and everything. I started hosting this game when my post count was in the 500's somewhere.

Ian: There's no reason for you to give up being Phil. Please be Phil, and with my blessing.

OLN is not showing repeats of the new season, so I haven't seen the premiere and probably never will. *sulk* I don't know who the Racers are.

Belle: will you please assign me a character? Anyone will do - I'll happily cross the gender line. Thanks in advance to agman for the sig. Who will be starting the weekly thread?

Well the following are already taken: Amanda, Victoria, Cara, Jamie, Linda, Steve, Mel, Mike, Tammy and Victor. You can either have Kris, Amanda's boyfriend, or Brad, Victoria's husband. I think I'll give you Kris, as long as Agman can give you a cool sigpic -- you need to tell him what your tagline will be. Same goes for Ian Quentin, who will now be Phil with your blessing. Once Ian gets a good sigpic and tagline, we can begin the weekly thread.

I wish you'd told us that you needed a break long before this, but better late than never. Anyway, I'll be the host from now on if it's okay with everyone -- unless Ian Quentin thinks that as Phil, he should be the host.

I guess since I took the initiative, I'll be the host. Never thought that would happen my first time here, but stranger things have happened before, I guess.

Anyway, tomorrow I'll probably begin the first BTAR -- starting with Episode 2 since it's already in the can.
