In light of The Banana's impending arrival in the Apple, I'm just checking to see if anyone has any special photo op requests for Weltek and I.

I already have a number of intended targets, but I'd try to accomodate OTers if I could.

Just don't ask me to go anywhere near Steinbrenner!!!

Weltek's Hotel is two blocks away, so that's an easy one. Any particular pose you want?

I'm wondering where to bring Weltek for some dinner. Do we do something straight out of "The Apprentice" like the cheesy Planet Hollywood, or go more local? Tough call.

There's a Barbecue place on the edge of the Village that I went to a long time ago. It was great. No idea the name or the exact location, however.

How about a picture of the banana riding the subway?

Aaaah! This will hopefully be my coup de grace! Without trying to sound too "Uncle Cameraman-ish", a very close friend is the head accountant for Trump's casino operations. He talks to him all the time (especially lately). I've asked him to see if he can pull any strings to get us into something interesting, but I don't want to push too much, being it's his livelyhood. Heck, I'd be happy if we could get Robin's picture.

I would love to see the banana get to experience some of the gorgeous paintings on the second floor of the Met. I think that would be nigh on impossible, but I bet you can finagle it. (If the banana is frowned upon, perhaps you can take it to the costume collection, which is much nearer the entrance.)

I don't think you can pull this off, but I would be massively impressed if you somehow manage it.

Also, see if you see anyone traipsing about in my scarlet red chiffon ball gown, please? It was stolen from my car the last time I was there, and I am bound and determined to get it back.

LC, you could always deflate it first, hide it in your shirt (or pants ) and then blow it up in one of the courtyards.

It's very thin and small when it's deflated.

Good Lord. If someone read this not knowing was I was referring to, I would certainly be in violation of the guidelines.

In support of PC, I have been in a few men's bathrooms. Twice by mistake, and a couple of times just because they were there or something.

Men's bathrooms stink. There's no nice way to say it. They stink. Also if you happen to walk in by mistake and some guy is actually using a urinal, he gets--well--pissed for lack of a better word.

It's a deal-and yes, lurkers are welcome! Me? 5'8", dark brown shoulder length hair, probably a black jacket. I'm also in the album. I won't be wearing a sparkly white dress & veil when we meet, though.

Have the banana blow *smoochies* towards 88th and 1st Avenue. The brownstone next to the bar on the northeast corner is where I grew up. And my parents still live there!
Try and get a picture at The Banana Republic clothing store.
The Mayor's Mansion is at Carl Schultz Park, 90th and East End Avenue.
I think it would actually be kind of sweet and poignant if you could get to Ground Zero. Not a flashy production number, of course, but a gentle reminder of how lucky we are to have this great community with all its fun!
Oh and Rockefeller Center. NBC is right there as well as Letterman's show among others. Could you imagine...?
I'm so jealous. Times like these make me actually miss New York if just a little.
