Greeting, TAR fans. A new season of The Amazing Race is upon us. Since Season 7 (excepting the season that didn't happen), I have been fortunate enough to host the Be the Amazing Racer game. Alas, my computer blew up real good about a month ago, and while the computer has been repaired, I lost Photoshop Elements, and thus my ability to make sig pics for the game.

So. Two possible solutions present themselves:

1. Someone else takes over entirely, both hosting and sigpic-making.

2. Someone else makes the sigs, and I still host the weekly game thread.

Let us discuss the possibilities.

I don't mind to help out with the siggie making! Let me know what kind of theme you'd like and I can come up with a common background to put names into place on top of.

Still a very early work in progress, but I'm open to suggestions, ideas, changes, etc. Will need to put in "TAR 13" or something like that somewhere in that box.

That looks great, Pepe! I like the colour scheme and the layout. I can't think of anything it needs but the 'TAR 13' (or just '13', since all the other info is already there), as you mentioned.

LOL @ everyone claiming characters a month in advance. You guys are cute. I guess we'll get started then. Character requests have been noted. New requests will be processed. Or whatever.

If you could offer some ideas on what quotes I should put in for each contestant, I can finish up all of the siggies. Should I wait until week one when players have said something that I could use or should I rely exclusively on their sound bites and/or profiles on CBS to come up with quotes?

That's not a bad idea. In previous years, there were videos of the teams to take quotes from. However, in recent years, the TAR site on CBS has only had brief text bios.

I am afraid I will not be able to participate this time, but I think my excuse is a good one...I will be on my own little amazing race for 6 weeks in Europe. I'm spending 2 1/2 weeks in England driving my parents around family history sights (small town stuff) and then my DH and I will be traveling through Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Budapest and a little of France for 3 1/2 weeks. Would I rather stay home and play the Amazing Racer? Um, no, but I will miss doing it. You will all have loads of fun with this group.

Here's to hoping there is a next time!

Ah, Windsor! My favorite castle! I tried to get my parents to stop there, but my mom wouldn't hear of it. I guess 6,000 different china patterns isn't her idea of fun (but 200 old abbeys is, go figure!). We will wave your way as we drive to our first destination, Wroughton (family history) and Buford.

As for beating them to the mat...no problem. I'm making them carry all of the luggage !

Sounds great! You could turn it into your own personal TAR race with DH - see how many "you are team number ..." you can come up with upon arriving at each new city before he starts to scream ENOUGH!

Actually, we did that at our last trip through Europe, except the "mat" was where ever we could find a bathroom. DH didn't get too tired of it. We will see how this trip goes!

Hmmm, tried posting and it disappeared into the stratosphere.

I read the team bios at CBS and saw that Christy spells her name with a Y. She was a college cheerleader and says that her team will use their "sweet, Texas charm" and that she and Kelly are "magnetic, energetic, and kind-hearted". So what can we do with that?
