Greetings, hamsters!

As we have seen over the last few weeks, there's been a Joker running around here. So, this week we will play a card game for the Head of Household competition.

This game is called “Jokers Wild”. It is a 7-card draw poker game. You want to create the best poker hand you can from 7 draws. The deck has 52 cards and two Jokers. Everyone has their own deck.

You can choose to draw from certain pools of cards by paying for the it (see below). When you make a choice from a pool of cards, you will get one of those cards, but you won't know which one. I will randomly draw the cards from any pools that you choose. For example, if you say draw red 7-10, then I will randomly pick a card that is a 7, 8, 9, or 10 of diamonds or hearts.

Your budget is $200. These are the pools that you can choose to have your cards drawn from:

-----

Draw any card: Random draw of any one card (1 of 54 cards, standard deck plus two Jokers): No cost, $0

Draw any 2-6: Random draw of one card from all 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (1 of 20 cards): $15
Draw red 2-6: Random draw of one card from red 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (1 of 10 cards): $30
Draw black 2-6: Random draw of one card from black 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (1 of 10 cards): $30

Draw any 7-10: Random draw of one card from all 7, 8, 9, 10 (1 of 16 cards): $20
Draw red 7-10: Random draw of one card from red 7, 8, 9, 10 (1 of 8 cards): $40
Draw black 7-10: Random draw of one card from black 7, 8, 9, 10 (1 of 8 cards): $40

Draw any J-A: Random draw of one card from all J, Q, K, A (1 of 16 cards): $25
Draw red J-A: Random draw of one card from red J, Q, K, A (1 of 8 cards): $50
Draw black J-A: Random draw of one card from black J, Q, K, A (1 of 8 cards): $50

Draw one Joker: Guaranteed draw of one of two Jokers (1 of 2 cards): $200

-----

What order you pick your draws matters, because any cards you draw in an earlier pick will not be in your deck for your later picks and draws. You can also decide to pick from the same pool (for example, draw black 7-10) more than once.

In the very unlikely event that you draw both Jokers with Draw any card and then you Draw a Joker for $200, you will still only get the two Jokers and a Draw any card will be done instead.

Examples of your entries for 7 cards might look something like this:

Draw any card $0
Draw red 7-10 $40
Draw any 7-10 $20
Draw black 7-10 $40
Draw red J-A $50
Draw red J-A $50 (note that you can draw from the same pool more than once if you want to)
Draw any card $0
= $200.

or this

Draw any card $0 (x3)
Draw one Joker $200
Draw any card $0 (x3)
= $200.

The person with the best hand wins! In case of a tie (exactly matching hands), the person with the most Jokers wins, then who spent the least wins, then followed by a random draw.

Have fun with your card games, hamsters!

-----

In case you forgot the hands and ranks (or don't play much poker!), here they are:

As such, the next HoH competition will be fairly simple and not require much time to complete.

really? simple?

Glad I have a couple of days to devote to this!

Well, you had some good questions, and this is a game I designed and wrote the rules for. So now the rules are written better.

Coming up with these comps and rules is about as challenging as playing them!

This has been the quietest weekend/challenge of the game!
Either others took the weekend off or, like me, they have been playing poker all weekend.

I started doing that myself but it turned into strip poker and that led to...well, you know! Busy weekend!

Hi fellow hamsters Jbug, Michel, Corvis!

I've been on the hamster wheel all weekend trying to work off all the goodies we've been chowing down the past few weeks. Whew! I'm tired! Hope you all had a good weekend.

*waves hi to Zenbot, too!*

*Thanks, Dear Abby!*

Greetings, hamsters. The Head of Household competition is over with all three entries in!

Who will be the fifth Head of Household? All three of you tried the same strategy, picking seven cards from the pile of Jacks to Aces.

And here are the hands:

zazzy: Two pairs, Aces and Queens: A♦ A♠ Q♣ Q♠ (K♣ J♣ J♠)
michel: Full House, Kings over Aces: K♣ K♦ K♠ A♦ A♠ (Q♣ Q♦)
jbug: Full House, Kings over Aces: K♦ K♥ K♠ A♣ A♥ (Q♦ Q♠)

So two of you, michel and jbug, tied with the same hands! And the tie breaker draw is…
michel: 2♦
jbug: 2♥

And it’s still a tie! So we need to draw another tiebreaker…
michel: 9♦
jbug: 2♠

So after two exciting tie-breaker rounds, the winner is...

Congratulations, michel! You may now decorate your Head of Household room if you so choose.

michel, you now must choose two nominees for eviction and post their names in this subthread by Monday (tomorrow) night, 10:00.

That's all for tonight, House hamsters. Hope you enjoyed your card games!

Note: All random numbers for these competitions are generated on this scientifically and mathematically accurate random number generator site. It was pretty amazing with such rare odds that two of you tied with the same hand and with a tie breaker too!

Finally, random number generator or not, that is the third tie-breaker in a row for me so it's about time I win one!
The Head of Household room will be decorated in purple! The music? Deep Purple of course!

Child in Time has to be one of my ten favorites ever...and quite appropriate to this game!!

How about this? If you can name the 5 musicians in the video, I won't nominate you! Nah! Just kidding.

Thanks Dear Abby!
The audience in the video cracks me up. They look like they had been told Bing Crosby was going to be there instead! Kinda like our audience!

The odds must have been in your favor;
you get a great random hand draw;
then you win the tiebreaker.
After losing the previous random draws, I guess it was your turn even tho I wanted to win! ~~pout~~

Can't wait to see your purple room! I love the color purple!
I found some ideas.... is this too girly?

That room definitely won't do!!! Lavender? No, I want Deep Purple, Casaya purple! And it would have to have a giant plasma TV, a lazy boy and lots of beer! And a French maid (but that may be asking too much!)

Thanks Dear Abby!
BTW, Deep Purple has nothing to do with "Purple rain" and I'm pretty sure you know 1 of their songs or at least its riff: Smoke on the water.

The key is...........
,,,,,,,,,,,,
_ _ _ _ _

wait for it....

Zazzy. You are safe. (Loved the scotch- Hiccup!)

I have nominated you Jbug because you didn't bring the beer and you Corvis because you didn't bring anything (and you've never been on the block before) This will come down to the veto anyway so I wish you "merde" which means good luck.

Hello, everybody!

Now that michel has named the nominations for eviction from the Hamster House, it's time for the Power of Veto competition! All House hamsters can participate.

Yes, it's time for another counting competition!

All you have to do is guess the number of glow-in-the-dark pixie sticks pictured here. Some of those pixie sticks are almost hidden by some other pixie sticks, so look carefully!

Entries are due by tomorrow, Tuesday, 10:00 p.m. As usual, any late entries will be disqualified.

Until next time, have fun, hamsters!

Hi, all you cross-eyed hamsters! It's time for the Power of Veto competition results.

Well, it seems that it's a lot more difficult to count lines than it is to count circles. I'm sure there's a Hamster Psychology PhD thesis in there somewhere. Some of you were fairly close and the closest one to counting all 222 glow-in-the-dark pixie sticks is...

Congratulations, michel! You now have twenty four hours to decide if you wish to save either of the nominees up for eviction. If so, you as the HoH can name a replacement nominee. So, michel, post your Power of Veto save choice (or whether you don't intend to use your Power of Veto) here by tomorrow night, Wednesday 10:00 board time.

Until next time, everyone!

"RE: Congrats Michel"
Posted by zazzy on 09-13-11 at 11:17 PM
I counted and counted. And counted and counted. I thought for sure you were taking this one again, Jbug!

Feedback for Zenbot for future HH games: dots were one thing on a laptop, and really hard to count on a small picture, but these sticks were too hard to differentiate on a laptop. I tried a lot of sizes, but when you enlarge the picture then you have to keep scrolling up and down to see where the line was going and try not to double count it. I've never wanted a desktop computer until this challenge.

"RE: Congrats Michel"
Posted by Zenbot on 09-13-11 at 11:32 PM
Yeah, I had meant to post a larger graphic, but it exceeded the maximum RTVW download size, so I had to shrink it by 50% each way to be able to post it. All of those colors increase the Jpeg size a lot. It was meant to be a game of making good estimates anyway, as I figured it would be pretty hard to count them all accurately, even full-sized. Live and learn.

Sorry to rush off so fast last night after you were named the winner. I was completely exhausted. Who knew Zenbot expected us to guess instead of actually counting! I still don't know how I missed that; I thought I was right on; all 3 of my counts were so close. How did I miss that many sticks? 222? really?

Oh well, is this a good time to make my plea? for you to save me?
~~~~clears throat~~~~
You know how hard I have played all season; how I have put my all into every competition (no, do not call me Rachel ~~glare~~) . I fought for every one. I would never throw a comp ~~~looks around at any possible Adams or Shellys ~~~ .
For that last one I actually spent $40 on ink for my home printer so I could print that dang thing out! No that? is commitment to the game!
I have been on the block my share of times, and have fought my way off.
So, I am asking that you, Michel, as HoH & Veto winner, take me off the block and save me. That way, you can go up against the best in the F3 HoH challenge. Now that's a challenge to you.
You won the POV and so you should use it as you see fit. I'd love for you to use it on me. If you don't use it on me, I ask that you not use it all. We've had the plan since the beginning, we've all worked very hard to make it happen, and I hope you will let us get to the end as we had planned. What I really appreciate about our alliance is that we've all worked hard together, each of us winning competitions to get us further - it took all of us to get here. I am absolutely proud to be part of it. Let's take it to the end.
"Final 3 Competition and Reunion Notice"
Posted by Zenbot on 09-13-11 at 10:40 PM
LAST EDITED ON 09-13-11 AT 11:17 PM (EST)
After the Final 3 House Hamsters are decided, there will be one more final competition called the HamsterLympics. The HamsterLympics competition will start as usual on Friday night 10:00 with entries in as usual by Sunday night 10:00.
As the last Head of Household, the winner of the HamsterLympics will choose between the other two Final 3 hamsters who did not win the HamsterLympics to take to the Final 2 for the Jury Vote. This choice will be made by the last Head of Household by Monday 10:00 (the day/time normally used to name eviction nominations) or sooner. The Hamster Jury will then vote for their hamster of choice by Tuesday night 10:00.
The live Hamster House Reunion will be held next Tuesday night at 10:00 sharp to announce the Winner of the Hamster House!
Good luck, hamsters!
If the Reunion time poses a problem for anyone, send me a PM and I will try to adjust this to your schedule.
(I realize this is a shortcut to the usual BB Final 3 triple competitions, but we need to move on to this Fall's reality TV shows which are premiering during the coming week! This post updated.)
Good point, as your suggestion would include this element of the BB triple-competition although we will still be using only one competition to determine the final HoH winner.
As such: The winner of the HamsterLympics will choose between the other two Final 3 hamsters who did not win the HamsterLympics to take to the Final 2 for the Jury Vote.
The notice above will be updated accordingly.
Thnaks because it is a game of strategy, not really one of counting sticks even if I won that one.
I had initially meant to include this BB F3 strategy element with the triple-competition method and your suggestion incorporates it just as well within the simpler and quicker single competition method, so thanks in kind.
The HamsterLympics should be interesting, with no counting!
"Veto Ceremony"
Posted by michel on 09-14-11 at 07:55 PM
This is the veto ceremony. At F4, being HoH only meant immunity because the real power was in the veto. I wanted to win both sides of the competition because I never felt comfortable in that 3-person alliance. I had some other arrangements.
I will use the power of veto on Jbug. Zazzy, you will have to take a seat on the nomination chair.
Thanks Dear Abby!
We're a whole day ahead of ourselves, since there was no need for Michel to wait a day to name the replacement nominee.
My vote to evict is not due till Friday by 10:00 pm. However, I figured why not let the 2 nominees make their plea speeches at any time. So....
Corvis, why should I keep you to be one of the Final 3?
Zazzy, why should I keep you to be one of the Final 3?
jbug, I offered my thoughts privately so you already know all of that. It really all boils down to... I think you should do what you think is best for your game.
Or you could honor the deal michel said he had with you and let him choose which one of us you evict. That is of course assuming michel wasn't lying about that deal, which is entirely possible since he's clearly a liar.
LAST EDITED ON 09-15-11 AT 05:17 PM (EST)
*Darn it! I tried to do these in order but they did not post in order so you'll have to scroll down to see PART ONE!
Part two:
Then I get a PM from Corvis that he got a PM from Dear Abby and that Dear Abby thinks that she is in an alliance with Corvis and Michel. Corvis is just keeping me in the loop. This confirms for me that Michel is in multiple alliances. * I wonder if there is any player with whom Michel is NOT in an alliance.*
Wayne is voted out and on to week two.
Since Suzzee is not on anyone’s top alliance list, I send her a PM trying to form an alliance. No reply.
Alliances confirmed with Michel and Corvis.
In discussing the HOH comp with Kris, she writes: “Thanks again for voting to keep me. Of course, if I win HOH, i'm in a really tough spot, ya know?” That was not confidence inspiring, Kris, just so you know!
So I am trying to figure out who is allied with whom after week one:
Jbug Not Suzzee? Not me, not Corvis (that I knew of), probably Michel, possibly Kris, and D’Abby
Michel: D’Abby, Corvis, me, Kris …Jbug? Suzzee? LOL, EVERYONE!
D’Abby: Michel, Corvis, and…Jbug?
Kris: sorta me, yes Corvis and Michel, maybe Jbug? Could not tell
Corvis: me, Michel, D’Abby and maybe Jbug?
Suzzee: the best I could figure out was Michel
Suzzee wins HOH Week Two.
Before noms, Corvis pm’s me that he is in a 4 way alliance with Michel, Suzzee, and Dear Abby . Notice that the 4 way did not include me. The best I can do is stay cool and see what happens.
Then out of the freaking blue comes this squirrelly message from Michel:
“I guess you've talked to Suzzee. I've sent her a message myself, trying to see what she's thinking and hoping to keep us safe but I'm not sure yet. Maybe you could mention to her what you told me before, that D'Abby was pushing for you to use the Veto to save Wayne and get her nominated. That's how it happened, right?!!
With your question just before the challenge, I'm thinking you threw that HOH competition. Pretty confident but I think it's OK for this week. We will need to work to win these things because we are quickly getting close to the end. And what's a promise not to nominate me if you aren't in a position to nominate anyone?”
Now, what the heck? I’d never even talked/pm’d with Dear Abby. What is he talking about or trying to do. It’s clear he does not know that Corvis told me about Michel’s 4 way with Suzzee and Dear Abby and Corvis.
*This is rich that he is trying to get me to throw myself under the bus by lieing!*
So I reply: Hi Mike,
>
>Um, huh? It wasn't D'Abby, >it was Jbug as HOH, >that was heavily pushing >for me to use the >veto to save Wayne so
>she could put up Suzzee. > Not D'Abby. I>think you got your wires >crossed somewhere along the way...look>back over our pm's....>I've pm'd Suzzee but have not >heard a peep from her.
>If you want to tell >her about Jbug, I'll confirm
>it to Suzzee. I >haven't told her anything yet. > Hard to do when >someone is not even responding.
>
>
>Hope I still have your support >to keep me safe this
>week!
And Michel replies: “Wires crossed? Possible but if I tell you that D'Abby wanted to get you nominated this week would you then suddenly remember that D'Abby was also pressuring you to use the veto. ;)
When I asked D'Abby who we should nominate if we were to win HOH, she could only come up with your name.
As for my support, I told you I wouldn't vote against you so that's what I will do. I'm even trying not to get either one of us nominated which would be even better. Can I also count on you?”
Meanwhile, I tell Corvis what is going on:" Corvis, >>I have to laugh. I trust>you not to tell this...and>to keep it to yourself,
>but I thought I would>share the laugh.>>I just got a PM from>Michel. He was doing his >touch base thing, and he>wrote: (pasted core of the message here…)
>>I think you can see right >away where the laugh is!>>>He's got so many irons in>the fire he can't keep >'em straight.
>>I've never talked with D'Abby and >you know it was jbug.
>So, if it has not already >come out with your Michel/Suzzee/D'Abby >discussions, I imagine it will. > I'll play along behind
>the scenes, that I don't >know the discussion is happening.
>I hope my refusing to >do what jbug asked (by
2 points:
1 - see/ even you note that Suzzee was practically missing i action.
2 - Abby was the ne who put the bug in MY ear to nominate Suzzee; made me realize that Suzzee wasn't around I figured Abby had an alliance with Wayne & was trying to save him. So someone told someone something somewhere.
"RE: Part two"
Posted by zazzy on 09-15-11 at 07:36 PM
Suzzee was mia in not responding to me but I had no idea whether she was doing that to others, then by week 2 I hear via Corvis that he, Michel and D'Abby are with Suzzee in an alliance.
Plus, she was posting funny stuff on the boards. I do miss the sock puppet!
"RE: Part two"
Posted by jbug on 09-15-11 at 07:35 PM
one more:
I had one and only one alliance in the game;
pretty good to make it this far, right?
And Kris? When she is able to respond - sequestered now & can't - will confirm that she had no alliance with me. In fact, I don't think she had an alliance with anyone! LOL How she kept getting saved is hilarious! She promised everyone I guess that she wouldn't nom them; as long as she was never HoH she had no problem! Pretty good strategy Kriss.
Very good, Jbug. Very, very good. Plus, your comp wins!
"RE: Part two"
I think this needs a response:
You told me that people were pressuring you to use the veto, Dear Abby told me she wanted to save Wayne and Jbug told me she wanted to use the veto to save wayne and put up Suzzee so I assumed Dear Abby had contacted both you and Jbug. It wasn't a lie, just an assumption.
It also explains why I wasn't all in the "Survivor" alliance with Dear Abby since it really only happened after Suzzee won HoH. Dear Abby was on top of my danger list by then. Corvis felt the same because Dear Abby was targeting you which was another reason why I wasn't all in the trio with you and Corvis.
"RE: Part two"
I don't think it was a lie or an intentional deception either.
I may have even mentioned to you, Michel - via pm, that Abby put the bug in my ear about Suzzee being "mia".
I don't blame Abby at all, She was trying to save Wayne who she probably had an alliance with - all part of the game.
Meanwhile Michel replies:
>
>"Wires crossed? Possible but if I
>tell you that D'Abby wanted
>to get you nominated this
>week would you then suddenly
>remember that D'Abby was also
>pressuring you to use the
>When I asked D'Abby who we
>should nominate if we were
>only come up with your
And I replied to Michel:
>Michel,
>
>I am really confused now!
>You are talking with D'Abby
>well enough to ask who
>should be nommed but then
>again you are trying to
>have me throw D'Abby under
>the bus?
>
>Something does not compute!
>
>I noticed you used "if I
>tell you"....so what is up?
>
>
>Who are you trying to get
>nommed and who are you
>trying to protect? I'm
>guessing you want to protect
>jbug. I understand.
>
>It's not my style to fabricate
>a story like that.
>You are much more advanced
>in this game than I
>am, that's for sure!
And Michel replies, covering his tracks:
"Actually, I did get confused between jbug and D'abby as to who was pressuring you but I talked to D'abby after the last eviction. She was upset that Wayne had been voted out and that's when she mentioned we could nominate you if one of us was to win HOH. I used "If I tell you" as a figure of speach but I am telling you she mentioned your name for noms.
If you don't want to throw her under the bus, I understand. It is pretty sneaky doing it this way. But sometimes sneaky works!
BTW, you can certainly tell Suzzee about jbug's actions. Protecting her wasn't my intent. My intent was to target someone I don't trust; D'Abby.”
At this point I don’t know what is going to happen It is only Week Two! So I send Suzzee another PM and I tell her what is going on…so no matter what she decides, at least she has Michel’s number.
So with Suzzee as HOH, she nominates Dear Abby and Kris. One is the target and one is the pawn.
The word I get is that Dear Abby went up as a pawn so that Suzzee would not tick off other players.
Jbug wins the POV. Michel pm’s me that he pled with Jbug to not use the POV and to leave the noms the same. Then he leads the charge to vote out Dear Abby! Corvis is ok with this. This is ok with me, too, because once again I am safe and I help keep Kris safe, hoping to build something there.
At the same time I am totally aware that despite Michel and Corvis telling Suzzee and Dear Abby that they were in a 4 way alliance, Michel and Corvis were willing to boot Dear Abby at the first chance. So no one is safe in the Hamster House.
On to Week Three
Now for a turn of events, I win HOH. No worries about my safety for a week! However, I am concerned about anyone I nominate and how others would vote. I want those I nominate that are pawns to feel safe and be safe. Meanwhile, Corvis is AWOL for the competition and does not even do an entry. (He had a good excuse, though)
I nominate Suzzee and Jbug.
Suzzee who would never answer a PM from me and Jbug who would not commit to an alliance and had already been skillful at winning comps. That left Kris, Michel and Corvis safe.
Suzzee’s my target because I feel confident others will vote her out. I let Jbug know she is safe.
Jbug goes on to win the POV. What a comp queen she is! Jbug = Janelle?
Now I need to do the renom. Since Michel and Corvis have been more of an alliance than Kris (who has been stuck on the block every week), Kris is renom but as a pawn.
Suzzee finally PM’s me.
Once again, not much of an offer…”I couldn't remember if you'd vote to tie break if there was one so I'm covering my bases. Anyway, I know the Bug and I both want to stay in so just vote your best option. Although I did keep you off the block last week. Just sayin'. No pressure. Really. LMAO have a good night zaz.”
Then later, this PM from Suzzee: “It's time for michel to go go go, really backdoor the little sneak otherwise he's going to get you. He has a partnership w/the bug but if she's thinking she'll want him toasted. Just saying”
So despite Michel and Corvis and I being a trio from the beginning, and Michel, Corvis, Suzzee, and Dear Abby being in an alliance, now there is the Michel-Jbug alliance, confirming for me what I suspected all along—that Michel was in an alliance with everyone, blowing whichever way it suited him and leading the backstabbing of his “alliance” members when he was threatened by them.
Still I renom Kris but Suzzee is the target and Suzzee is voted out. (notice Suzzee once again did not offer any alliance or any safety for me the next week, so why do I want to keep her?).
On to Week 4.
Week 4
Corvis wins HOH.
Corvis noms Kris and Jbug and outs the trio of Michel, Corvis and me to the board. But behind the scenes, Corvis has told me that Michel was pressuring him to put me up and get me out. So Michel *came for me with his backstabbing knife* as I knew he would. Jbug also tries to get Corvis to put me up. I know I am vulnerable to being voted out.
Jbug wins the POV comp and takes herself off. Corvis has to do a renom.
He puts Michel up and Michel begins to sweat. It’s Michel vs. Kris. Michel promises me that he won’t nom me or vote me out in week 5 if I keep him safe in week 4, that it is the trio to the end, etc.
Meanwhile, the “trio” is supposed to be voting out Kris. Jbug sends me a PM asking me if I am voting out Kris. I know she is fishing for info for Michel.
The problem is, there are only two votes. If I vote Michel out and I know Jbug is voting Kris out, then Corvis breaks the tie. And Corvis is committed to staying with Michel. So if I vote to keep Kris without Corvis being in alignment, then I blow up any alliance I have with him.
So it is in his hands. I told him I would vote as he asked but pointed out Michel’s duplicity from early on with his trying to get me to lie about Dear Abby, and then with his trying to get Corvis to put me up.
Corvis does not budge and leaves town for the weekend.
Michel promises me that he won’t nom me or vote me out in week 5 if I keep him safe in week 4, that it is the trio to the end, etc. I am skeptical but I don’t really have an alternative.
So Jbug and I vote to evict Kris.
On to Week 5
So, dear readers, here we are.
Michel wins the HOH comp, one of random draws. Jbug, Michel and I all use the same strategy to approach the game and Michel gets the best random draw.
While he nommed Corvis and Jbug, I knew that Jbug was in an alliance with Michel. Someone was expendable and Michel did not say who it was.
Michel wins the POV and of course saves Jbug.
Michel puts me up and has told Corvis in a PM that he has a deal with Jbug for Jbug to vote me out.
Michel, I am not at all surprised. This is the squirrelly way you have played the entire game.
Unanswered questions for me are: is Corvis trustworthy or has he been part of a Michel/Jbug/Corvis alliance all along? Have I been strung along by him? (not that I had much choice, going back to week one). Or is it that Michel just does not want to compete with me? ;)
As for me, what I have learned from this game is a smidgen of how it must feel for the people in the BB house. Most of the players were strangers to me and in our game, we did not have the benefit of face to face interactions to be able to judge body language, tone, inflection, etc.
My intuition and life learning says when people show you who they are you should believe them.
Michel showed me who he was when he tried to get me to lie about Dear Abby. And again when he tried to get Corvis to nominate me so he and Jbug could boot me. That's why this week is no surprise. Except maybe to Corvis.
I learned that I don’t like how it makes me feel to be playing a game with someone who plays like that. It’s not how I am wired. This is a reminder of how things are in life for me. I don’t like people who pee on my leg and tell me it is raining.
The rest of the jury may see/feel otherwise. As for me, I’ll be weighing Jbug’s competition prowess versus Corvis’s play.
No sour grapes. Just the facts. And, as for Michel’s POV on the jury? He covered that in a PM, too:
"Part 1"
Posted by zazzy on 09-15-11 at 05:13 PM
*takes opening offered by Jbug*
OK, let's call it what it is.
Michel has a deal with Jbug to vote me out.
This is no surprise to me.
Pull up a chair, folks.
Here is some background for the jury, particularly Wayne and Dear Abby who have not heard a lot of this yet. And some may be a surprise to the other jury members.
Let's go way back to the beginning of the game. How much time does this game take, I innocently ask? Turns out it takes a lot of time, lol!
I started the game a newbie. I frequent the AI and BB boards here on RTVW and not much else. I don't have long standing OT friendships, and did not "know" many of the players; I knew I was at a disadvantage to play the game to win so I wanted to play the game for the experience and have fun. And I have tried to make the Hamster House a fun place, and I have enjoyed the challenges from Zenbot.
Week One:
In the beginning I approached Jbug and Corvis for an alliance because I knew them from the AI board. Corvis agreed, Jbug would not commit, being foxy about the question. So, duh, no alliance with her. She's otherwise committed, and I am not surprised because she's likely with some of the other longtime RTVW members. Then Michel comes along and offers a sort of cryptic "I wouldn't nominate you" message and I reply:
"Yes! Now...if you write that pm >as: >I, Mike, promise that I will >not nominate you, zazzy....then I'll >buy it and do likewise. Deal? Hope to hear from >you."
Note that *week one* I am trying to get Michel to be clear about his promises.
Mike replies: "LOL! Here goes: I, Mike, promise that I will not nominate you, zazzy. PS. When you do the same, please reverse the positions of the names!!"
Meanwhile, Corvis and I are trying to figure out Jbug. and I have completely tipped my hand to Jbug that Corvis agreed to an alliance. According to Corvis, Jbug does not respond to him, either, with any definitive answer.
Now Jbug is HOH.
She nominates Wayne and Kris.
Kris approaches me for my vote. Sure, no one else asked or tried to ally with me, so, yes.
Then Wayne sends me an "if it is not too late" request. I'm sorry Wayne, but it was. I had already said yes to Kris. Besides, you did not offer to keep me safe as in not voting me out. Kris agreed to that.
Then I win POV...and now the squirrelyness starts.
Jbug, who will hardly answer my pm's before this, first won't tell me her thoughts on the POV, and then at the last minute was trying to get me to use the POV, take Wayne off the block so she can change the noms and put up Suzzee and get Suzzee voted out.
(Yes, Suzzee, she was bussing you back on week one).
Jbug: “I was really wanting to keep Kriss safe, but.... now I want Wayne safe & need you to take him off; then Wayne & Kriss are both safe. or if you take Kriss off, I'll still put up Suzee & tell everyone to vote for her. Please take Wayne off!”
I had already promised Kris. and I did not know if Jbug was shooting straight that Suzzee was really to be the target, because she was not very forthcoming at first and I did not want to see Corvis or Michel put up at that point so it was best for the noms to stay the same.
Here's the arrangement I had with Michel:
zazzy: ">Would you like to extend our >agreement this week into a >more formal alliance? > As in I won't >vote for you if you >are nommed or put you >up if I am HOH >and you agree to do >the same on both things? "
Michel: "We made our deal when there was nothing on the line, when we were equals and that's how I like to operate. But certainly, I accept your offer to prolong our deal and I wouldn't vote to eliminate you if you get on the block and I won't nominate you if I win HOH. "
*week one, Folks, week one*
So I PM Jbug that I am not going to use the POV.
Here's the PM Jbug finally sent about the POV:
"please please please! reconsider!!!!
Who's wants you to not use it? Only 1 prson will be unhappy - Suzzee Please take Wayne off!!!! please!!!!"
Now, if she has decided to be in an alliance with Wayne, taking him down would only help her ...and she never wanted to play ball with Corvis and me... not too sure what alliances Michel is in at this point.
So I did not use the POV and post my decision on the HH board... and then Jbug frantically pm's me and asks me to edit that post and change it to that I am using the POV! LOL! After I had already posted it. What?
Jbug: "GO BACK & EDIT - FAST!!!!"
That would be a squirrely thing on my part! No sale.
Meanwhile, the pm's are flying about who to vote out.
Michel: "From what I have observed, I feel Wayne could be a dangerous player, someone to fear." (guess you are to be complimented, Wayne!)
Michel, Corvis and I agree to keep Kris and I let Kris know the votes are secure.
Reading & responding to your posts one at a time:
I did not give you a definitive answer to your request for alliance because I wanted at first to weigh my options. When I made an alliance, I would not lie to you and make one with you & Corvis also. I was approached my almost everyone for an alliance; I even asked someone - maybe you - how to handle so many multiple requests for alliances -m since it is not in my nature to lie.
After putting Wayne on the block, I gave my promise to Kriss first that I was not targeting her. You have to remember that this was very early in the game - like on real BB - I didn't know everyone well at that time. I then thought of how long I'd known Wayne over in OT and also realized at that time that Suzzee had not been posting at all in the game. She said to me in a pm that she was really involved in Tribe's game. So I thought maybe Wayne would have more time to bring to the game.
That was my only reason for asking for you use the veto.
I made no deal with Wayne. I was looking to keep someone who might participate more - later Suzzee did appear more often, but how was I to know she'd do so?
I had no idea why you wouldn't use the veto unless you had an alliance with Suzzee and didn't want her put up instead.
Jbug, I was not surprised that you had so many requests for alliances. You have been on RTVW for a long time and have a lot of OT friends. That is a strength you brought to the game.
I did not want to use the veto because 1) you would not tell me definitively what you wanted to do at first, and 2) you had already ID'd who you wanted as targets with the original noms and if I took one off a new one would go up who would wind up resenting me. Kris was offering to not vote me out the next week, there were votes to keep her in place, so why not just leave it and not rock the boat the first week? I told you in my pm after the ceremony that:
" For the future, though,
>>>I am a straight shooter,
>>>and I like answers direct,
>>>even if the answer is
>>>no. I may not
>>>win but I'll have less
>>>headaches that way! "
How I've missed the sock puppet!
Thank you, Suzzee for understanding the intention behind the "outing".
As I said to someone in a PM, this was meant to be BB like to put it out there --and tell what has been / what is going on! Like when Dani was trying to throw Jeff under the bus this season and it got out and the whole house discussed it. Like when Shelly got called out for playing both sides of the house!
I should go back & check some of Michel's pms, but now that you mention it, I do think he was against me trying to get the veto used & putting you up. It is so hard to remember everything!
Of course I did say that the nominations didn't need to be changed because I was also working with Suzzee. I even proposed her to Corvis as our third but he insisted it should be Zazzy.
When zazzy and Corvis targeted Suzzee immediately after that, I knew they were cutting my allies. Saving Suzzee would have been extremely difficult because she had a target on her back for missing most of week 1 and then being HoH the following week. I would have exposed myself and anyway, I had another ally, Kriss, on the block. I knew the alliance with Kriss could stay hidden and it would allow me to appear to be all in with the trio. Regretfully, I had to sacrifice Suzzee who had always been a loyal friend.
Thanks Dear Abby!
See parts 1-4 first!
Part 5:--What Michel thinks of the jury voting:
The discussion started back when Michel was sweating whether I would vote him out or not last week:
Michel: ">>>>I guess one of us has>>>>to go up as replacement.
>>>>I trust you will vote>>>>to eliminate Kriss as was
>>>>the plan laid out by>>>>Corvis. I'll do the same
>>>>if Corvis keeps me as >>>>a voter. Kriss is nice
>>>>but we have created a >>>>monster, putting her up time
>>>>after time and letting her>>>>wiggle her way out. She'd
>>>>be unbeatable in the F2."
>>>>
>>>>
zazzy:
">>>I am good with Corvis's plan. >>> Sticking with the trio!
>>>
>>>
>>>Not sure how Kris is a >>>monster when she's been on
>>>the block? I don't >>>understand your logic on that
>>>one. I think >>>you watch Survivor and I
>>>don't anymore, so I am >>>rusty on some of the
>>>strategy that you are thinking >>>about.
>>>
>>>The one to fear is the >>>comp queen, Jbug! She
>>>is awesome in the Hamster>>>House comps!"
>>>
Michel:
">>Kriss has the perfect underdog story
>>and she doesn't have anyone's
>>blood on her hands. Trust
>>me, if you face her
>>in the F2 you lose.
>>I lose. Corvis loses. Maybe
>>Jbug could win as the
>>challenge queen but even that
>>is often less valued than
>>the one that outlasts all
>>those votes."
zazzy: ">Mike, >You are bringing Survivor into this!
>Underdog does not work in >BB! Look at how Adam
>is worried about his BB >"resume".
>But, it doesn't matter because >we're good on the trio,
>right?"
Michel: "But our jury is made up of Survivor fans. Wayne, Suzzee and Abby are mad for being blindsided. They will be very sympathetic to the person that didn't vote them out.
Adam is a big guy that failed miserably in physical competitions. This is on-line random competition. No shame in losing these, no glory in winning them.
Also, you are forgetting BB history. How often did Dr Will win HoH in season 2? None. How often did he go on the block? Quite a few times, always escaping.
But, I am good on the trio so this should be moot."
You do have a talent for the game though. The thing you missed is that I knew all about your early alliance with Corvis.
Zazzy,
I almost didn't read all your posts cause I didn't want to see this game in a sour note. I have had such fun playing; some of the comps were hard! Not sure if I'm that good or just that lucky.
I knew hamsters had to be having other alliances; I didn't know about Michel & you & Corvis till Corvis was HoH; but even then I felt secure in my alliance with him - yes, it is time to say that I had an alliance with Michel.
I knew it was possible that he was playing me; but I could only continue to play it like I started it.
I regret that you are - or seem - so upset by all this.
I started it as playing a game; determined not to ever let it turn me against any of my RTVW peeps.
I'm sure too that Zenbot would prefer this to stay a game.
It's not like anyone is missing winning a half mill.
Maybe I'm saying too much - or maybe I'm reading too much between the lines of your posts. I hope your are not as upset as you sound.
"RE: Part Five"
Posted by zazzy on 09-15-11 at 08:04 PM
I think you are reading things into the posts.
I am shining a light on the plays in the game and how players chose to conduct themselves.
You are trying to suggest I am angry--and suggested that before when you were calling me to give an eviction speech when I had not yet really commented on the turn of events. I think you expected me to be surprised and angry/devastated.
Again, it was *no surprise* to me that this was when Michel backstabbed me. He could not do it when I was HOH and he tried really hard to do it when Corvis was HOH. I saw this coming back when he tried to get me to lie. That's how he plays, and even Suzzee predicted it in her PM to me. As I said in the first part, I knew I was not going to win when I started this game so I was playing to have fun. And when Michel started playing "sneaky" or deviously, I just played along for as long as I could.
I did not win comps when I should have--HOH was the luck of the random generator and the POV comp was darn hard! Michel is to be commended for doing so well on that one and I did give him his props on that one when he won it.
If we were in a real BB house this would have all been out long before this. I'm sure there are other parts to the story that I don't know!
It all sounded angry to me.
Guess I don't know how to read this kind of snark. Like you said up there somewhere; not able to see expressions & body language.
So glad you aren't upset. Seriously I've been composing a pm in m mind to you; glad I can erase it all or throw it in the trash.
Now? back to being a fun game! Thank goodness!
c. Hamsters may enter into any agreements they want. They are not required to abide by these agreements. They may choose to disclose (or not disclose or even misrepresent) what agreements they may have or have not made with other active hamsters, either in PM or in the House. They are not required to reply or respond to any offer or communication made by any other active hamster.
Zenbot covered all the bases before we even started!
Everyone here?
no? oh well.
I'm sure the Zenbot will find you somewhere & let you know the results.
Since Michel won the POV and took me off the block thank you Michel , he had to nominate Zazzy as the replacement; she was all that was left.
That put me in the position to be the only one voting this week.
Corvis and Zazzy have had ample opportunity to give their "save me" speeches.
Just like in the BB house, when it gets down to F4, decisions get tough.
I've made this decision based on what will, I hope, get me farther in the game.
Zazzy, you are good at competitions and a real strategist.
Corvis, you have either laid low during comps or maybe you really aren't that good at challenges.
I'm betting the win on that.
So, my vote is to evict......
Zazzy
* No surprise here! *
Have fun, you three!
BTW, I would like to clear something up. My posting the actions of the other hamsters since week one was not in anger.
Jbug was the one who suggested I was angry, and she did so before I ever posted the 5 parts because she had not seen much of a response from me. I think she read Corvis's responses and may have inferred that he spoke for us both. Or she was thinking *she* would have been angry or that I had something to be angry about.
The real Big Brother includes being outed for your deviousness and game play. Like Dani trying to throw Jeff under the bus or Shelly playing both sides this year. My only opportunity to tell this information was before I was evicted. So I chose to add some "realness" to the HH game by making it more like the BB game.
Because I knew it was coming, I was not surprised or angry. I was unhappy when Michel did what he did in week two, and sad when he tried to get Corvis to evict me while at the same time telling me all was good and could he count on me. Corvis can tell you that I asked him last week how did Michel's actions make him feel? This is a game. So, angry, no. Learning about people, yes.
See you all at the reunion!
"Eviction Vote Result & Farewell"
Posted by Zenbot on 09-16-11 at 06:29 PM
Greetings, hamsters! The eviction vote is in.
As you already know, anyone evicted from the Hamster House will serve on the Jury to determine the winner between the two finalists. While hamsters are sequestered, they may not PM other active House hamsters or participate in any of the Hamster House threads, either in the House or in the Audience. They may, however, PM other sequestered hamsters while in the Sequester House.
The evicted hamster and the House hamsters may say their farewells until tomorrow Saturday night, 10:00, when this Week's thread will officially come to a close. A new Week thread will be opened with the Head of Household competition soon.
Now for the result!
The vote of 1-0 is to evict...
Farewell for now, zazzy, and may you enjoy the comforts of the Sequester House along with newsomewayne, DearAbby, suzzee and krismiss2us. You will have the company of one more hamster soon!
Until next week, have fun hamsters!
