"TAR #12 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"

Please consider finding something else to watch while you wait and keeping the sigpic-free discussion about that on this thread. Judging from CBS's posted schedule, the average football game duration, and the amount of time it'll take for Roger Clemens to make his entire agent-written sanctimonious speech about himself in third person, we could be here for a while, and 'three hours after the episode finishes airing on the East Coast' just might work out to 'wow. Look at all the colors -- oh. That's sunrise.'

But if we can raise $12,000,000 in salary for Roger Clemens, which Roger Clemens will earn for every segment he deletes from his interview, then Roger Clemens promises to get off the air. (For an additional $458,000,000 in salary, he will take Jennifer with him.)

For once, you can't "Blame Canada" for this...

So when is this thing supposed to start? Can I still edit my post in Jims' thread?

Supposedly 8:30 EST, but I wouldn't place any bets. 60 Minutes is running, for the very little that's worth.

Could it be that all the problems between Canada and the USA are caused all because we don't watch the same shows at the same time?

I think it is time to start "TAR all the people, the same time" movement.

Oh, well, I guess I will be watching at 8PM up here.

Yup. Damn, Kynt and Vyx would have made for far better TV in the final episodes than, let's say, Ron and Christina. They along with Nate/Jen would have kept things real interesting as we march to the finish line.

Nicolas and Don were only 8 minutes behind TK and Rachel at the pit stop. Ronald and Christina were another 11 minutes behind so it was a pretty tight race.

The times of departure:
1:25 pm
1:33
1:44
2:38 (Nate and Jen)

Well the airport made a great bunch point since N&D, R&C and N&J are all on the same plane.

The question is 'are TK and Rachel as far ahead as they seem?'.

Did it seem like the stop was more than 12 hours? The arrived in the light and left in the light....from the times they would have been checking in at 1:25 am, etc.

Why the extra 12 hour delay?

Edit: found the thread in Fav's.....

Why are all these people buying flights without checking if there is a earlier flight?

Good question.

TK and Rachel just got off in New Delhi while other teams remained on the other plane to Hong Kong.

TK: "Something doesn't feel right about this" while walking through the New Delhi airport on their own.

"RE: TAR #12 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 01-06-08 at 08:28 PM
There's our answer. After the commercial break, TK and Rachel are still in the air while the other three teams all arrive in Osaka.

"RE: TAR #12 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by Earl Colby Pottinger on 01-06-08 at 08:32 PM
This looks very bad for TK and Rachel.

"RE: TAR #12 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 01-06-08 at 08:36 PM
Indeed. The other three teams have already been to the clue and headed back to drive the limo ... and TK/Rachel still haven't touched down in Osaka.

Unless there's a *major* bunch point or an U-Turn, they're toast.

"RE: TAR #12 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by Estee on 01-06-08 at 08:49 PM
One of those options is off the board: there's no U-Turns left on the course.

"RE: TAR #12 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 01-06-08 at 08:56 PM
Yeah you're right. I was trying to remember what options were still out there on the fly.

With two teams now on their way to the pit stop and a third not far behind, the only thing that can save TK/Rachel at this point in time is a NEL or Superleg.

How's the Roger Clemens Show? All fluff with softball questions or any hard-hitting action?

Ist Segment:
TK and Rachel leave at 1:25PM. Find plane to Osaka Japan leaving Mumbai at 6:30PM but goes through New Delhi and Beijing

Nic and Don leave at 1:33
Ron and Chris leave at 1:44. Ron argues with ticket agent about direct flight and complain about taxi driver because he left them at wrong door. Christina: "Leave me alone...Stop complaining!"
Nate and Jenn leave at 2:38PM.
All three teams are on flight at 8:30PM going through Hong Kong: "Where the hell are TK and Rachel?"

The instructions say to search the grounds, and yet R&C go inside the castle.

"RE: TAR #12 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 01-06-08 at 08:32 PM
So did Nic and Don... cruel and unusual punishment to make a 70-year-old grandpa climb up and down all the stairs inside only to see the clue outside.

The teams now have to drive a limo and make their way through the streets of Osaka. They're given directions in the limo - but they're in Japanese. Got to ask for directions/translations before heading out.

Funny, Jen's got the revealing halter top with camouflage shorts and has to wear a driver's hat and white gloves.

I don't want to know what the insurance costs must have been for that section.

Jen/Nate and Ron/Chris are done with the limo task, now they're off to a temple for their next clue.

Meanwhile, Nic is hopelessly lost in the middle of Osaka with Japanese-only signs with one-way signs in all directions.

Typical. The two women who drove, both stopped to ask for directions while the one man didn't bother with directions and kept saying "I know where I'm going."

TK and Rachel has finally arrived in Osaka.

Meanwhile, here's this conversation between Nic and a local:

Nic: This way?
Local: That way. (points in a direction)
Nic: Ok so I go that way? (points in a different direction about 45 degrees off)

Flowers vs Robots - Of-course I want to do the robots!

"RE: TAR #12 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 01-06-08 at 08:50 PM
Go through an entire flower shop filled with artificial flowers and find a real one only using your nostrils ... or ... use a cellphone to play a soccer game with robots.

Me? Flowers. I'm no good at robot games.

3rd Segment
TK and Rachel finally arrive in Osaka.
Nicolas is still lost.

On the way to the Temple, Christina is worried their driver is having a heart attack.

Jenn and Nate first at Detour.
Sense of touch: "Play soccer with robots"

or

Sense of smell: "Identify one real flower in a flower shop with thousands of fake flowers using only their nose."

Jenn wants to do sense of smell because she had the nose of a bloodhound <Insert Joke here>
Ron has playstation to do the robots but do the flowers instead.

Nicolas returns to grandpa. They'll do Robots. Robots are cool! They each have to score 1 goal. Much better than the water polo goals from a prior race.

Sniffinf flowers, Jenn starts hallucinating as if in a "Pink Floyd video".
Nic scores goal.
Jenn finds flower first. Travel by taxi to pit stop. Nate wants to finish first to prove they can do it.
Ronald finds flower, it's a race to find a taxi that knows where to go.

Ron and Christina make it to the pit stop in first place! They win an electric vehicle. Environmentally friendly vehicle...

Meanwhile, Jen and Nate spend forever looking for a cab and they finally get into one - Jen promptly screams at Nate that he pushed her while instant replay shows he didn't. They finish in second yet again.

Nic and Don arrive in third place as the sun is setting and starting to get dark.

Meanwhile, no sign of TK and Rachel. Ah there they are, searching the temple about three clues back.

"RE: TAR #12 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 01-06-08 at 09:05 PM
They show a bit of each step, TK and Rachel zip right along and finish in last place.

But.

They're still in the race. Non-elim, they'll have to go through a speed bump during the next leg. They're over three hours behind Nic and Don.

Why don't they tell us what type/brand of electric car?

Honest, I have driven around Toronto and it kills my mileage, I would love to have a electric car for downtown.

Michael Jackson is the Osaka greeter?!

"RE: TAR #12 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by AyaK on 01-07-08 at 10:49 AM
LOL. I admit to being more surprised by the way the greeter pronounced Osaka: instead of the accent on the second syllable (oh-sock'-uh), she pronounced it with the accent on the first (oh'-suh-kuh).

"RE: TAR #12 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"

That is the correct pronunciation. Or at least that's how the Japanese say it: /OH-sa-ka/

And Bulgarians say /SO-fi-a/ not /so-FI- a/.
