Not. A. Chance. Afternoon football game (Steelers vs. Jets) in the NYC media market, so the thirty-million plus of us who have to rely on that broadcast range will be joining y'all sometime around 8:30 or later. There is no possibility of this game getting off the air in three hours even or less. Phil Sims is on the broadcast team: that's an extra twenty minutes right there...

Steelers vs Jets here as well. Scheduled right up against 60 minutes without any filler show in between so 30 minutes late may be generous.

*off to make sure I've Cold Case set to record and extra minutes on Shark, I usually add an hour to the record time of that show, just in case*

And I was wrong. The Jets and Steelers managed to complete sixty minutes of football in just about three hours of television.

Hello, overtime.

Worse than irony svcks? Losing to the Jets....... *blech*

Well, if your team had just been paying attention during the roughly fifty to three hundred times the Jets tried to hand them the win in that pretty gift-wrapped black-and-gold package, maybe you wouldn't be in this mess. Or to put it another way:

Congratulations: you just managed to lose during your bye week.

tell me about it!

That's three losses to stinker teams..........all of them on the road....... and all of them after 1:00....... What time's the game at New England in a few weeks? (Like it really matters?)

ETA: Just thought of something: If playing the 1-win Jets was our bye week, what's playing the 0-win Dolphins on Monday Night?

It's on time here. The game is on a different network. Yay!!!

Your CBS station didn't show the fall on sword that the Steelers produced against the Jets? And you live in Ohio? *boggle*

The only teams here that anyone cares about are Cincinatti, Cleveland, and Detroit. And, most only care about Cinci and Cleveland because they're in Ohio. Detroit's the biggie since we're only an hour away.

Well, it starts on time here in Ontario. How far behind will you guys be since the game finished early?

I think most of the East Coast and New England areas showed the game and it ended around 7:20ish, so those areas will be 20 minutes late........ or so.

It came on on time here.

They are heading to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, in West Africa.

"Ah Ha!"
Posted by Swrdprincess on 11-18-07 at 08:21 PM
I knew they weren't African American. I was thinking Somalia, oh well.

And the blonds still express concern about not looking their best during the race.

The 2nd flight from Amsterdam to Paris is delayed; since there's only one flight per day to Burkina Faso, the teams may not get there until the next day.

Something tells me they'll find a way to get there. We can't have a Team Guido problem so early in the race.

Nate & Jen took a different flight than everyone else. Their plane is in Paris, on the way to Africa (Oagudougou?). Everyone else is sitting on the tarmac in a plane with mechanical difficulties. If they miss the connect in Paris they'll lose an entire day.

I forsee a Schmirna delay for Nate/Jen.........

There's no way they're gonna let only one team get so far ahead of the others........

Take a train and be sure to listen for your stop to be called. It's in the middle of nowhere.

Time to milk a camel. Fill a bowl to the designated line. Drink the milk. Spill the milk and you may not get enough. Not enough? Wait for everyone else to finish then, and only then, use one of their camels to finish.

Ahhh yes the stupid comments about the locals, this time from the 2 blondes.

Yuck, I don't like cows milk so drinking camel's milk isn't going to happen.

Lorena is freaking out every time her camel moves. The camel freaks when she does and keeps kicking her milk over.

note to self: checking out the ECST when you are on the west coast will sometimes yield up some interesting mental imagery.

Teach a class of non-English students 10 English words or be taught 10 African (forget the language) words by a student. If the learner recite the words correctly in one sitting and you get the next clue.

Azaria and Hendekia finish first. They win a five night trip to the Caribbean.

Lorena is giving me a headache. Couldn't they have switched and have Jason do the task?

Is this the first time Phil and the pit-stop was in the rain? I don't think so, but I can't remember when.

What a concept. Choose a camel that has a baby with it.

It is a good idea, but when you are second to last, maybe not a good one to point out to the team that is following you.

And it did come back to bite them! I wondered if that would happen, AND IT DID!

Wow, help teams if you got a good lead, but not when you are next to last.

Posted by mysticwolf on 11-18-07 at 09:09 PM
Yep. I think that cost them the race. Lorena would never have thought of the logic in it herself.

Prize comment:

I really am starting to think that the producers are reading these forums. I remember a thread where it was suggested that travel prizes should start close to home (North America) and move out further and more expensive as the show progress. So far the travel prizes seem to be following that logic this time around.
