Vanessa from season 2 (or her boyfriend)is back on eBay this time hawking her diary which she kept during her time on SO. It is listed as item Vanessa Atler Gymnastic Starting Over Diary TV Reality Item number: 8821097015. I can't believe some fool is willing to pay over $100 for it and the auction isn't even over yet! Will these former HG never stop? Of course I guess why should they if people are obsessed enough to pay for the stuff.

My guess is there is A LOT more interest in Vanessa's "stuff" from gymnastics fans than there is from SO fans. Can't say for sure - but having a daughter who competed in gymnastics for 15 yrs, there are huge numbers of gymnast fans such as my daughter (now a Sr in college) who followed Vanessa's every move during her national & international success and who still feel she was one of the most talented gymnasts ever. And as a gymnastics fan as well, I still love seeing her past performances. She has always been my all time favorite to watch (not that I'd buy anything on eBay tho.) The only reason she did not compete and probably place highly in the 2000 Olympics is because of what other adults had done to her young mind ... thus, the reason she was on SO. There are a lot of her former fans who still keep up with her. That's not saying there aren't plenty of SO fans who view former HGs as "stars" (eyes rolling) but Vanessa was a huge star in the gymnastics world before SO. Any fans she gained as a result of her appearance on the show would be paltry in comparison.
