Oh.my.heck.

Without giving anything away for the West Coasters at 1 a.m. EST, can I just say this show is just ... compelling, yet sublimely ridiculous at the same time?

This is going to be an oddly interesting show to watch!

And can you believe the guy...Jack or Zack or something like that who said he wanted out because he didn't want to be the best of the second best. What a bully, the show wasn't even 20 minutes old and already he was cracking eggs on peoples heads. How high school.

Another interesting note...did it seem like all the guys had been baked in an oven at 450 degrees. Every single one of them were so burned that I was surprised she could even see their faces.

Yeah... I was surprised somewhat that she kept Joe, boy was he ever burnt to a crisp around the eyes, cheekbones and forehead. This pic must have been retouched with a heavy dose of Photoshop.

This is shaping up to be a real Revenge of the Nerds show! Melana is truly a good sport about it all and evidently showing what a quality person she is (from first impressions so far) to keep going with this with a good attitude.

I was disappointed in who she got rid of. Someone should have let her know how Zack was acting at the bachelor house. That guy needs to go.
I think they should have had a decoy in there though, some drop-dead gorgeous model type that was told to act like a real a$$ and see if she kept him around. Maybe one of the twists is some male models are introduced into the game, after she "bonds" with the personality guys.

I'm guessing that with a little more alone time with Zack, Melena will realize he's real a$$. (Any P-Ho watchers noticing a trend with jerks named Zack??)

Just goes to show that Average Joes don't care as much about their looks, as they don't use sunscreen!

OMH what a show! Can you believe we have to deal with yet another bully named Zach? What a jerk he is (and I'm being nice). He's repulsive to look at and I was almost sick when they showed a preview of her kissing him. GROSS!!!!!

I was impressed with the girl. She certainly took things in stride and was very nice to all of them. I was shocked at her first 2 picks to be eliminated. They were 2 of the better looking guys in the bunch (and that's not saying much LOL).

The guy that got the egg on his head is really nice.

Surprised she didn't get rid of the Indian guy. What a nutbar he is. Asking her if she likes brocolli??? HUH? Looks like he has a bit of a temper as shown in the previews for next week.

Oh yeah, don't you think a couple of them would have taken the time to shave before showing up to meet her?

Wonder what the twist is.

<Can you believe we have to deal with yet another bully named Zach?>

That guy is a real jerk! The egg thing was just rude! The only thing funnier (in the most annoying way) than having to watch another a-hole named Zach would have been watching the original a-hole Zach of Paradise Hotel fame duped into this reality show.

<I was impressed with the girl.>

Yeah, she maintained her composure quite well. But I must say, I am already tired of all the "glamour shots" of her...

<They were 2 of the better looking guys in the bunch (and that's not saying much LOL).>

I totally agree.

<Surprised she didn't get rid of the Indian guy. What a nutbar he is.>

Nutbar----LOL!!!

<Asking her if she likes brocolli??? HUH? Looks like he has a bit of a temper as shown in the previews for next week.>

Yeah, come on.... BROCOLLI?!?! What the...
And yeah, he seems like he is so impressed with himself, being a college professor at such a young age. He definitely has a superiority complex.

I think the twist will be the introduction of some model-type guys that the Average Joes can't compete with in the looks department. Or maybe the introduction of some other ladies to see if they can be distracted (kind of like temptation island).

Can't wait to read the summary!

"I am already tired of all the "glamour shots" of her..."

Oh I agree. Didn't you just love how they kept showing her running along the beach (not), just like Bo Derek in "10"? All she was missing was the cornrow hairstyle.

It would be hilarious if the they DID put some model-type guys in for the twist, only they make them have B.O. or onion-breath or constant gas.

Here she is on hidden camera,"He sure is gorgeous, but his farts make my eyes water." Now that's entertainment!

><Asking her if she likes brocolli??? HUH?

I was at least expecting him to launch into the virtues of broccoli and instead he says, "I'm not too impressed with green vegetables." Huh? What does that mean? Is he not impressed with their ability as world leaders or their usefulness as roofing nails?

How insensitive. Those poor green vegetables try their best and want so much to impress us.

OMH. That whole broccoli exchange had me rolling on the floor.

Tareq: Do you like broccoli?
Melina: Um, no... I do like peas though. So, um... what about you?
Tareq: I'm not very fascinated by green vegetables.

Sentence first. Verdict afterwards.

Talk about rolling on the floor...

Between the broccoli exchange and the guy who she told had pretty eyes and he retorted with "and you have pretty things"....LOL.... this show had me laughing out loud!!!
Most of the fun is not so much laughing AT the guys, but laughing along with them...their awareness of their geekiness is actually refreshing!!

I was almost more entertained by all of the guys interacting with each other before they met Melina. That whole plotting against each other/bully vs. nerds exchange was great (I think because it reminded me of how my friends and family act around each other, which is scary).

The look on her face when she started meeting them was priceless. I do think so far she has turned out to be a pretty good sport, though.

I have another beef about these guys. I realize they are "average joe's", however, knowing they were going to be on tv, wouldn't you think they'd have whitened up their teeth a little bit? I guess I'm so used to seeing white teeth on people on tv, so when these guys were exposing their "way way off-pearly whites", I was pretty grossed out.

No kiddin' about the gross teeth. And what about the great personalities these guys were supposed to possess to make up for what they lack physically? What I saw was mostly a bunch of social misfits who acted like middle school-aged boys. Not just around the girl, but amongst themselves, as well. It was painful yet funny to watch. It's going to be a great show!

Its so refreshing to see a reality show without a single bartender/wanna-be actor. I love the way they had the guys arrive on a bus instead of the usual limosines.

Oh boy Pepe, do I agree -- compelling yet ridiculous. I was thinking "Animal House" and soon thereafter one of the Joe's said "Revenge of the Nerds". I think both descriptions apply. I was appalled at the Joe's behaviour (spelling just for Pepe) yet I was entertained. Melana was a good sport. But she said that 95% of the Joe's were not her type. Are there 16 guys? If so that only leaves .8 of a guy that is her type. That sounds like a bit of a problem to me.

Too funny!! Especially when you consider that .8 of some of those guys would be over 1.0 of most anyone else.

This show was entertaining in an odd way. And it showed that even ugly guys can be jerks. Most of the guys seemed quite successful. But she did seem to get rid of some of the better looking guys right away. I think she was trying hard to prove that she wasn't going by looks. She kept around a couple guys she thinks she might like to date and then booted some of the better looking guys so she won't feel so guilty when she has to boot the really ugly big guys. At least they will feel like they were not booted the first night.

Thats why this is called "average joe"

This show is incredibly funny, whether it is scripted or whatnot..I couldnt help LMAO especially during the bus scence and the fat dude could barely climb out..Her face was priceless..
I believe she purposely kicked off some of the better looking..dudes since this was a show about personity..Plus i beleive one of the guys didnt make an effort to talk to her..
