"An Apprentice in jail this weekend?"

Posted by Ellehcar71 on 04-10-05 at 09:42 PM
Just saw a teaser for the news tonight - "he may be the next Apprentice, but he spent the weekend in jail." It showed the scene of the conflict with Chris and Alex.

Anybody have details?

According to the local Fox affiliate here in Maryland, the jailed candidate was (surprise!) Chris, for getting into a fight over a hotel bill at the Hard Rock Hotel in Tampa. He was charged with disorderly conduct and is currently out on bond. No other details to report.

Arnutz posted the actual link that released the story of the arrest in Tampa.

Don't tell me Chris Shelton lost another credit card.

He has been doing sorta okay in the last few episodes and this thursday night might be a rematch between PM Kendra vs. PM Chris. Of course Kendra winning the Auction task(ep.8)...The team does reshuffle in the next episode.

Chris has a chance to be in the final 4, but can you see him having another outburst in the job interview episode?

Let's just imagine that somehow Chris does make it to the final 2, would Donald even consider hiring him after this? Can't stand him, but at this point, I'd love to see how this gets handled - since everything has been filmed except for the finale where Donald makes his choice. Oooh, I'd just love a scandle!

"Shelton and some friends were staying at the hotel and celebrating his continued success on "The Apprentice," Bitner said."

Celebrating his SUCCESS??!! How truly, completely laughable!! (Not to mention pathetic.) That idiot skates through time and time again, for ratings purposes only. Nothing this idiot has done makes him look good, let alone SUCCEED in any way on that show. Surely his money is somehow connected to mommy and daddy.

And now we'll have even more dubbing from DT. The episode in which this idiot was fired has surely already been filmed, but we can count on DT's updated dubbing regarding this latest debacle.

End notes:

Nothing Angie could have said would have saved her. She knew to do the right thing and shut up in front of Trump when he was reaming her. We all know the point at which if you don't do this, you end up not only getting fired but looking silly.

The women are the only good thing in this competition, and Tana's actually the only decent candidate left. The others are just plain silly, ridiculous, offensive or simply not qualified.

I am not watching this version of the apprentice, but I love a scandal. From his picture alone I can tell that you are correct that his 'real estate millionaire' status is either completely ficticious, or the result of a gift from his mommy and daddy.

Could this be a possible spoiler (as if any of us really thought he could win)? LOL

All I can say is that if his hissy fit was caused by a $20 cover charge for the bar (in a CASINO! - who ever would expect that?) it seems to me to be a clear sign he didn't win a job with The Donald. Or,if he did, Donny pays a whole lot less to his executives than I expected.

Even if Chris doesn't get that $250K per year job, he is supposed to be a millionaire at 21 years old. What is $20 to him anyways?

True. I thought of that, too. Then again, $20/week at 6.5% interest calculated monthly over 21 years is over $50,000. Maybe that's how he became a millionaire? (Not necessarily a good date, mind you...)

There's no question that the guy is a total hothead with very little sefl-control or vocabulary, but it is not ratings that have kept him in the show this long. It is one very simple FACT (and he speaks FACTS):

Every week he has gone to the boardroom there was someone else in there who deserved it more.

That's it. No conspiracy. No fan club. No EPMB (well, maybe that.). Just that incompetence trumped idiocy.

Just not true.

If people like Stephanie and Angie were getting the same benefit of the doubt as the idiot Chris, he'd have been gone weeks ago. Trump's done this again and again; it's really hard to avoid a conclusion that he'd rather hire anything with a Y chromosome than a reasonably competent woman. In the case of Stephanie, he even used her inability to control an almost criminally aggressive twit like Chris against her--rather than firing the almost criminally aggressive twit.

I'm on record as being a great admirer of Carolyn. But I don't understand why she puts up with her boss's obvious and brutal misogyny.

Thank you for this. Well said, and by a man, no less.

And now we know why there were rumors that DT was not happy about the quality of people that were chosen for A3. This show could have been so much better than it is. Or maybe not.

"I'm on record as being a great admirer of Carolyn. But I don't understand why she puts up with her boss's obvious and brutal misogyny."

But doesn't her presence as both a valued employee and a confidant serve as a counter to your charge here?

Let's not forget, she has a pretty good job, while the candidates are simply competing for one.
Also worth noting is the fact that Trump isn't the only one who has leveled sharp criticism at women in the boardroom...

I just wonder if Carolyn would agree with your characterization of the man who employs and (using what we see on television) respects her.

She might even ask for some examples of such "brutality".

Re: Chris. I'm not a Chris booster, but he has made it farther than many in the competition. Your given reasoning (ratings) aside, he bested Angie. I don't really see him getting much beyond this point in the show...but he certainly has managed to avoid firing to date. A simple matter of the record there.

Re: "The women are the only good thing in this competition"
Well, I suppose that's one way to look at it. But then, why would they want to keep Chris around for ratings purposes?
I suppose there is "the competition" and then there is "the show"...but really, I think that's a distinction without a difference.

For the record, I've already concluded on this forum that a female contestant will, in fact, win this time around.

What you've said about Tana could well be true, but her qualification alone would not lead her to victory.
There is simply no way that Donald Trump will choose yet another white male candidate as it would make him (and so, his corporation) far too vulnerable to charges of "old-boy" networking.

Won't happen.
Trump will indeed choose a woman (good, bad or mediocre) as his apprentice this time around for the same reason that he is flanked by them in the boardroom.
It (a female's winning) was surely decided just moments after the conclusion of the second season.

And, as I've said before, although this could well work out to Trump's ultimate advantage, it shouldn't be confused with an untainted result.

The fix, for obvious reasons, is in.
Perhaps Tana will reap the benefits.

Personally I was hoping for Alex getting caught soliciting a prostitute.

Yes. My uncle's best friend's dog's groomer's babydaddy's other girlfriend's other boyfriend is a tribal police officer down there, and I heard that among Chris' personal effects was a tin of chewing tobacco.

My first thought was, "Did they catch him with chewing tobacco?"

Chris has anger management issues? I've seen no evidence of that at all!!

next thing you know, people will be implying that Paula Abdul is on something.

Haa. Are any of us surprised? I think he's a good guy and all but maaan, he has to chill out!

And I was never a huge Angie fan but it really ticked me off that she got fired over Chris who did NOTHING during the task. How do you fire someone for screwing up while trying to pull 95% of the project while not firing someone else who did nothing.... Just stupid.

While I agree Chris was terrigle, Angie really did choke and her days would be numbered even if she lasted another week.
