Please keep all sigpic-free discussion of tonight's Fast Forward appearance on this thread until the West Coast gets to wonder just what the point of this whole 'Marked for elimination' thing is. (And that means you. Yes, you too. And especially you. I don't care if we're having some confusion about just when spoiler time ends because of all the delays on the episode's start. It's right after the closing credits air in the Western time zone, period. Do not make me come over there.) I guess it's better than 'Markused for elimation', because then we'd have the team running in verbal circles for hours and hours without ever really getting anywhere. By the way, there is a Yield on this course, and the NCAA has chosen to use it yet again, thanks for asking. Please stay here on the mat until the hourglass runs out, Billy Packer shuts up, and 60 Minutes airs their 'Romber: Where Are They Now And Why Do We Care?' segment. Just remember: it could be worse.

I actually tried casting one once in Bashers, but some of the teams aren't valid any more. The Miz/Trish combo is a pretty potent one, and they can tap into some strategies no one else has used. No, seriously. Name another team member who would try sleeping their way around the world. 'If I get the faster flight, you might get something even better...'

Plus Ginger would do something horrible, and that's always a bonus.

I have seen that happen.

Leaving Miami just ahead of Andrew, they let too many standbys on the plane and there was quite a discussion about who was going to get those last couple of seats.

It isn't fun to get kicked off a plane. At least they don't have to worry about not getting out ahead of a cat 5 hurricane.

Besides Eric and Danielle aren't the only ones left behind.

We were there for a wedding. It was evening and formal and everyone was sad for us before that weekend that the only Sunday flight we could get out was 6 am.

Then we get there and everyone thought we were so lucky because we knew we'd be able to leave.

One of the bridesmaids was a cop and she had to have her gun and pager on her during the ceremony because she was on call.

It's a very popular tourist destination and has its own version of Disneyworld. You have to see the rides.

Charla & Mirna are looking at a multi-hour lead right now -- and they're going to arrive during daylight. Unless we're looking at that rare night-start bunch point, they may be able to maintain this head start for a little while.

Both teams got slightly lost on the way to the Old Fort, the Pit Stop.

The prize: a 12 1/2' Catamaran each, a dual hulled boat. (Which C&M had no clue about...)

D'you realize this is probably the biggest total time separation between teams we've had in a few seasons? This could still be about a twelve-hour gap in place by the time everyone checks in. We may be looking at some major bunch points on the next leg.

I'm still shocked that U/J were able to build over a half hour lead on Dustin/Kandice. That log detour must have taken much longer than it seemed and/or D/K got stuck on the roadblock for quite a while.

It's fairly far past sunrise now, what a hellish leg for these 2 teams.

Can't wait to see next week's start times - and this is the kind of leg that messes with Phil's timeline - he's got to beat it out of there to do the tags for the next locals. Oy.

Why did they not find the noon flight the day before? All three teams were content to wait a day for the next flight from LAL or SAA?

Stupid move of the week....why give up, take a shot at a stand by fight and not figure out if anyone else flew into Joehanesburg......

I'd have to look it up, but I cannot believe that there are absolutely *no* flights other than to Joburg? There's gotta be something that goes to another part of Africa. Nigeria? Kenya? Egypt? Anywhere that will get them out of Maputo and then they could take a connector to Dar es Salaam.

Or did I miss a direction that said they *had* to go to South Africa only?

Well....Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity had no flights listed. Sidestep had a ton of them listed but all leaving Maputo were SAA or LAM. Once you got to Johannesburg though you have several over carriers to get you to Dar es Salaam.

I did find some obscure travel sites that did have United, KLM, Kenya, and TAP Air Portugal going from MPM to JNB but I could not find a schedule for any of those right now.

After yet another 40 minute delay in starting, this week's episode made up for it. I really love when planes separate the teams. Charla and Minra were brilliant for going to South Africa early, that was key. And look, the last team did not check in until the next morning! Phil looked like he just woke up to check Eric and Danielle in lol. A 2 hour show next week will be nice.

I cannot believe how large of a separation we have between the teams. It certainly makes the race more interesting, but also a little more painful since the most hated team is in the front.
