"ECST Discussion Week 2"

Posted by michel2 on 07-08-15 at 08:32 PM
I'm watching the Tuesday episode and it feels like I missed something over the last few shows. Weren't Shelli, Da'vonne and Audrey in an alliance to the end? What happened to make them go so bitterly after each other? I saw Da playing much too hard too early and making scenes but what caused the riff?

As I understand it: (ahem, deep breath)

After they formed their all girl alliance (Shelli, Da'Vonne, and Audrey), Da'Vonne saw Clay and Shelli cozying up together, and declared that she didn't trust Shelli anymore. Apparently she felt that Shelli shouldn't cozy up to anyone but her. Clay got on her S list at that point too.

Then, after Clay and Shelli (while in the midst of said cozying in downstairs bedroom) observed Da'Vonne wandering around the house, they inquired as to her purpose (anything anybody does that is not explicit or explained to them is cause for suspicion), Da'Vonne was prickly and real vague and caused a face to face with Shelli and more so with Clay. Tears from Da'Vonne after confront with Clay.

Then, after Audrey begged Clay to go up and make up with DaVonne, and he tried to do so, Da'Vonne realized that it was Audrey that put him up to that, so now she hates Audrey too. Clay's apology didn't stick, apparently.

So with that Da'Vonne has alienated Clay, Shelli, and Audrey.

Then, Audrey tried to spread rumors that Vanessa was leading an all girl group (which was actually her, Da'Vonne, and Shelli). When Vanessa compared notes with Da'Vonne she realized that it was a plot by Audrey to discredit her, and she and Da'Vonne called her out on it in a house meeting called by Da'Vonne.

Now the whole house hates Audrey, and Da'Vonne has managed to alienate most of the house also, including Becky who as far as I could tell was only a spectator at the house meeting but who took a disliking of Audrey from that.

(Exhale)

Such Drama. Da'Vonne's strategic and social game is abysmal, and Audrey is playing way too hard.

So, on Canadian TV this is on Tuesday? Here the broadcasts are Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday this season.

Thank you Kingfish.

I had seen the first part, where Da was confronted for roaming around the house but hadn't realized it had gone to such extremes. The part of Audrey spreading rumors about Vanessa is what I hadn't seen. Audrey had good ideas but she put way too many in action way too early.

The last episode made me realize that Austin could be a player to watch. I thought he'd be an easy target but he is doing some interesting stuff. I'm not sure if he's in a good position yet but with the focus on Da, Audrey, Shelli and Clay he could soon find himself on a nice path to go far.

As for broadcasting days, we see the show on the same days, I just thought we were Tuesday!

LAST EDITED ON 07-09-15 AT 01:33 PM (EST)

On the block: Da'Vonne and Meg. 12 eligible voters, 7 needed for eviction. If three are votes nullified. So actually, 9 would be eligible, and 5 would be needed for eviction.

Lets go with 9 and 5, because we all know that production will "accidentally arrange" for Da'Vonne to get the call.

Shelli - HoH. Can't vote.
Meg - On block. Can't vote
Da'Vonne - On block. Can't Vote
Clay - Votes Da'Vonne
Becky - Votes Da'Vonne
Steve - No strong indication so far, but if he is a genius, probably a Da'Vonne vote. Also, his UTR strategy will mean that he will follow the leaders (HoH and Clay).
Jason - Da'Vonne ally (the only person in the house that Da'Vonne hasn't alienated, I think. Even he may have a hard time voting Meg off, but I'm guessing he will.
Audrey - Unpredictable. Might want Da'Vonne to live to continue to divert attention from her, and to fight Clay and Shelli. Hard hearted person with no compunction against voting sweet Meg off. Might be a Meg vote.
Austin - Floater. A sneaky floater. Most likely a Da'Vonne vote, but could turn in surprise Meg vote? Not likely IMO.
Jace - Can't vote. Cause he's dead. To the show (included here as my way of stomping on his grave).
Jackie - Floater, so probably a Da'Vonne vote.
James - noncommittal and trying to lie low after being the first HoH, so probably a Da'Vonne vote.
Jeff - Exists in the state of confusion, so probably follow the leader to a Da'Vonne vote.
John - will follow Clay's and Shelli's lead, and vote Da'Vonne out.
Liz/Julia -More concerned about their side secret, and seemingly aligned with Clay and Shelli (but maybe not really), but no waves from this duo and probably a Da'Vonne vote.

Even if Da'Vonne gets the 7th phone call, and nullifies (I'm guessing) Clay, Audrey, and Becky (?), it's still a steep hill for her to climb to stay in the house. Jason will help her campaign, and maybe Audrey will too, but she's the most hated person in the house, and Da'Vonne is her own worst enemy. And her strategic and social games are not good, she'll probably just alienate the floaters.

Also, it's hard to see the floaters voting for Meg without major inducement and a full blown charm offensive by Da'Vonne, who has yet to learn what that charm thing is.

2 strong Da'Vonne votes
1 strongish Meg vote
2 floaters, most likely Da'Vonne votes
2 possible floater Meg Votes
2 leaning to be Da'Vonne votes.

Money bet - Da'Vonne leaves. My guess, 8-1.

Or, as usual, the vote will be unanimous.

That sounds about right but there's one thing that Da could do to change the vote if she does get the "last laugh". She could use Tony's strategy and lie about it's real power. One way to go would be to say something like: "If you vote against me, you get an automatic vote against yourself the next time you are on the block." She could also say that she cancels those three players' votes until the end of the season. Anything really just to scare people into voting Meg instead.

I arrived home a skoosh tardy for the beginning of the show.

And I won't, most likely, be discussing the fluff. But it goes on...

DaVonne has the power to nullify 3 votes on Eviction night.

Clay realizes Day is acting "secure".
Shelli makes Clay notice that Day would definitely nullify his vote.
Shelli and Clay count the 5 votes Day would need to stay...
John, Jason, Steve, Austin and pretty much every guy besides Clay... I forgot ... make 5. Neither discuss Audrey, who apparently is secret swearing to Day she will vote to keep her in.
Clay and Shelli act nervous.

...

DaVonne notices that Liz's body isn't the same as Liz's body.
She then calls Liz over and asks her for sunglasses, giving her a chance to look at her eyes. Uh-huh!
Her and Jason now notice ALL the differing details and break it down ... house meeting in front of the memory wall.

EVERYONE knows Liz is part of the twin twist.

DaVonne confronts "Liz" (aka Julia) telling her that others are beginning to think that you, Liz, are part of a twin twist.

"Liz" (aka Julia) now becomes a definite DaVonne keeper...

...

Voting begins.
Jackie, Becky and Jeff are removed from voting and made to sit at the dining room table.

Jason votes to evict... Meg.
Clay votes to evict... Day.
John, "He", votes to evict... Day.
Audrey votes to evict ... Meg.

Currently a tie.

...

missed the last 5 voters but... it turned out that DaVonne was evicted.

Par usual, the evictee fits somewhere on the self-

Goodbye messages.
Clay love you but sorry.
Audrey... snaps!
Jason vows revenge.
Liz outs herself (and Julia).

Day goes back on her hate for Audrey after the ChenBot tells her that Audrey voted to keep her in the house.

BBTakeOver.
Rob Gronkowski?

He promises a week long party. No have-nots!

HOH comp to start now.

...

Giant BeerPong game.

"Liz" gets 23.
Jackie gets 0. She's out.
John gets 0. He's out.
James gets 23. Tie with "Liz".
Audrey gets... 17. She's out.
Clay gets 6. He's Out!
Jeff gets 14. Sorry, Jeff, you're out.
Becky gets 0. She's out.
Austin gets... 28! New Leader.
Jason gets 0. OUT!
Meg gets 1. She's out.
Steve gets ... 0. Aww he's out.
Vanessa gets ... 23!
Three way tie for 2nd HOH. Austin is HOH1.

Liz gets ... 22.
James gets ... 35!
Vanessa gets ... 52!

Congrats to Week3 HOHs, Austin and Vanessa!

...

Sounds like a straight forward week to come.
(Even considering the Gronk TakeOver.)

>Work has me befuddled.

That's funny considering it was vacation instead of work that got me confused about the days!

Anyway, thanks for the update. By straightforward, I guess you mean Audrey is toast...or could Liz/Julia get some attention?

Actually, by straightforward I meant the show will be running a fairly twist-free week. (No FFs or week-in-a-days) It appears as if the Gronk's twist will not effect the regular procedure of events.
But I do also think that Audrey "should" be toast. I pray that Liz/Julia get attention, but they were correct in dumping Da'Vonne as she was the one to confront them on their twist. I don't know if anyone left really cares that much but we'll see.

Thanks Tribe. Nothing wrong with spreading out B'days. Another round of Margaritas, on AYAK!

To the game:

Da'Vonne nullified Jackie, Becky and Jeff? And not Clay? At least? Not that it made any difference, IMO (although I'd like for Julie to poll J B and F to see who they were planning to vote for), it seems that there was no combination of votes that could be nullified that would have made any difference.

IMO, a below par twist. You're better than that, Kathy.

Da'Vonne, besides being completely unfit for this game mentally, is an amazingly obtuse judge of character. She was sharp enough to pick up on the twin thing, but her choice of nullified voters showed ineptitude, and as was mentioned elsewhere, she did not pickup on Vanessa being a top pro poker player, despite the fact that she herself is a casino dealer. WTF?

Two Da'Vonne-isms;

In her final speech to the house, she urged everyone to vote for her. So they did.

She also said that she wouldn't do anything differently, which must mean that the outcome was what she desired?

She is not worthy.
