LAST EDITED ON 08-05-01 AT 08:03 PM (EST)

The Jekyll and Hyde schtick can't fool everyone forever, and in case of a tie-breaker along tribal lines he would be a logical AA target due to his previous votes. In any such tie-breaker the BB's would lose due to Ice and Surv having more prior votes than any AA. (DK/OFG have only 2; RR 1, whereas Ice has 3 and Surv 5.)

The AA women are not going to vote against GT. Now that sleeeve is gone, DK and OFG hold the majority in the AA's and definitely want GT's alliance as an option, plus she has only 1 vote if it comes to a tie.

The AAs' prime target would be, same as last time, IceCat, as the immunity threat/mastermind, but--he just might win immunity again.

If GT allies with the women to turn on the BB's, she would try for Ice Cat also, as she knows his strength on all levels. She already thinks she can pull Surv along with her, so she will want to protect him if she can.

If Ice wins immunity, however, GT will either have to vote straight BB (tie-breaker, Surv loses) or join with OFG and DK to vote out Surv, because the 2 AA women would never agree to take out RR (unless something big happens)--not with the tribes evenly numbered and the AA's looking at a sure tie-breaker win.

Surv could try swinging to the AA's to save himself, but it seems likely he'll hold back from crossing tribal lines (despite his 3 days an AA). He knows the AA's have no reason to trust him; he hasn't particularly bonded with any AA. Like Amber, he would be concerned that OFG would quickly tell GT if he offered to defect.

It's likely, then, that our sweet Surv will follow Amber and go to slaughter like a sacrificial Lamber--maybe playing a few not-so-sweet pranks (ala Jeff Varner letting go the fish) when he reads the writing on the wall.

Final Analysis: Ice needs immunity and will get it. Surv exits and the singing represents his swan song...

Edited for typos, not to second-guess myself, although maybe I should.

Wow--I don't even have to explain, cuz OFG already did it beautifully! (Gotta love those Spoilers--always eager to do the work for lazy arses like myself! )

Sorry, Surv. . . gotta go with logic as we reach the end. . .

And bug! Way to lay down the law!

I guess we should have had the nice greeter lady doing this all along, just look how nice and straight this one is, Wow! Now I only have to hold the episode hostage long enough to give everyone who wants to (no, I'm not including vacationers) a chance to get their picks in. Wonder how long that will take ...

Nothing personal Ice. But the kitten my daughter got last week is driving me crazy so I have to take it out on you my feline friend.

And for the record, I feel it's obvious the cameo will be ME!!! I hate birds, I'm a cartoon character and I like cake. Besides, it's about time someone started paying attention to ME! Surely, I deserve a cameo - can't you people throw me a bone?

And yes, that is desperation you hear in my voice!

This is a BV Vote thresd! Since when is is straight and orderly!

I just had a grocery shopping experience that bummed me out massively. I went early this morning and took my son with me while Pen stayed home with my daughter. I had to be home at ten am, so that Pen could get to his afternoon class on time. This weekend was Texas' Tax free weekend, and all school clothes and supplies were tax free. I didn't go this weekend because I learned last year that everything goes on clearance the day after that nightmare of a shopping frenzy. So I bought the kids some great clothes, and did my two weeks grocery shopping and I was even underbudget! I ask someone for the time and discovered that it is 9:30. That is perfect because we only live 5 minutes from Walmart Supercenter. So I go to check out.

There are two empty express lanes and one 15+ line open. The 15 plus items line has 6 count them 6 over-flowing carts and bored people waiting in it. So I walk all the way down to the express lane dragging my now tired out toddler with me. The checker takes one look at me and says "It's 15 or less" I look around and there isn't anyone nearby and I say.."You don't have any other customers.' She says" I'm sorry ma'am thats the store policy." I point up at the sign that says if there is more than three customers in one line they will open a new one. "Isn't that a store policy too?" She calls a manager. I waited another 5 minutes for the non existant CSM to show up, before I finally just walked out with David and got home for Pen to go to work. Two hours of my life (and I HATE shopping!) is just gone.

Then I come here and see this!! It's just too much! This is the best hijack I can think of right now, but surely everyone can relate to this.. Come on, give me some of my sanity back, tell me about your shopping nightmares!!

Kismet

"Do you ever get down on your knee's and thank God that you know me and have access to my dementia?"

*Note: My vote is for DK and the only reason I am voting at all is because I don't want dabo to think I don't appreciate the hard work he is putting in.

I'd like to cast a real vote, but to do that and do it well, I'd have to go back and read a couple weeks' worth of stuff. Work's just been far too insane to keep up the way I'd like. Well, I'll do what I did when my son was born: vote for the person nobody else has voted for this week. Then it was Tina. Now it's RudyRules.

Yeah, I'm a DAW. Is that a problem?

*waves at Dave* It's the thought that counts, Sherpa! Sorry to hear your workload hasn't lightened up, so guess I guess I will lighten up (got to cut my fellow potential Arcadian some slack)!

Ahem--the catchup you mentioned, my episode resembles that remark you poor thing. Many, many pages. But light reading, mostly dialogue, very light and fluffy--dare I say "moist" in the middle as well?

The cool thing I get from your reluctance to cast an uninformed vote is that you think the prior episode's events have an actual bearing on the outcome of this episode. ROFLMAO! Have we come to some semblance of continuity as we slouch towards the finish line?

We shall see, someday.... dabo, we're waiting...when do you expect to air the legendary Episode 10, anyway? (love getting the chance to say that instead of just hearing it from people)

A gift for you dear Kismet: http://www.walmartsucks.com/

As for me, I have boycotted K-Mart for almost three years now. After several bad experiences the final straw came when the customer service associate flat out told me she would not wait on me. The store manager had to stand over her and make her take my return (I had my receipt, there was no valid reason for her not to have waited on me). She still wasn't fazed by it, but the manager (male, btw) was near tears by the time I left. I was 8 1/2 months pregnant at the time & DEFINITELY not in the mood for BS.

Posted by AyaK on 08-06-01 at 04:23 PM
Hey, I spent time as a manager of a large department store -- and I use the words "spent time" because it felt like being in prison. Suffice it to say that the chain I worked for was unionized, so if you think the attitude of people at WalMart and KMart among employees who can be fired at will is bad, just imagine the attitude at this place, where employees could file a grievance over a bad review. The chain no longer exists (big surprise).

The equation usually comes back to this: low prices equal low levels of service.

The AAs failed once in their bid to keep the majority, thanks to the dangerkitty-sleeeve "misunderstanding." They won't fail twice; they get a second chance because Survivorerist has 5 prior votes and IceCat has 3 prior votes, making both of them vulnerable in a 3-3 tie with any AA. Survivorerist goes unless he wins IC; he doesn't (but IceCat does), making the vote straightforward.

Posted by AyatollahKhomeini on 08-07-01 at 11:02 AM
dabo, FYI:

As you know, "not shakes" has apparently gone into hiding since Episode 9, due to all the rumors about a certain clown having faked his own death and heading back to seek vengeance. I offered GG the first option to write E11, since he will otherwise be stuck writing the first half of the final episode (from 3 into 2) -- and Mark Burnett thought this episode was so dull that he's doing away with it in S3. I have not heard back from GG yet. I have different options for E11 depending on whether GG wants to write E11, E13 or nothing; I'll let you know as soon as I hear from GG. My pool of potential authors at this moment includes flying squirrel (who WOULD like to write E13, boring or not) and Superman (a second episode).

dangerkitty is still going to write E12, although she is on vacation right now and so is not a potential E11 author.

"RE: E10 (update)"
Posted by dabo on 08-07-01 at 02:19 PM
Truthfully, I have been holding off on episode 10 in hopes that the episode 11 problem could be resolved first, but you may expect all the installments over the next few days. I would prefer to have the matter of episode 11 resolved first in order to inform the next writer beforehand so that he or she may get a jump on things, but as of yet I have informed no one of who the bootee will be. On this plus side, this delay is giving everyone ample opportunity to vote, and if the next writer has already voted there is no reason for that vote to be discounted.

"RE: E10 (update)"
Posted by Outfrontgirl on 08-07-01 at 02:51 PM
Poor dabo!--
sandwiched by writer crises like no other writer.
I suspect that if you post your episode the impending nature of Ep 11 will bring about a solution, whereas now it's once removed from the hot seat.

As I recall, AyaK's announced rule about mailing the bootee's name was partly to give a jump start in a now defunct 3-day schedule. The other reason was to pin down the current writer before the voting started--to avoid the writer being tempted to change because people were guessing correctly and the writer wanted to surprise people.

You did your best to comform with the rule but the writer cancelled. Seems like no big deal to me. As for surprise or changing the bootee--at this point in the game, surprise seems less important than logic. At the beginning, things could go in any direction. The closer to the end, the fewer ways things can work and be true to the continuity. I'm sure you didn't choose your bootee for any reason other than what made sense.

So why not just free yourself from worrying about any of this and publish it, since you're done. You know that short attention span rules around here and you probably have gotten all the spoiling you'll get unless we get a new leak. The people who take an interest in voting have already voted; it's a small group! At least at the moment it's no longer a 3-way tie, so it'll be a clearcut hit or miss for the tribe.

That's my way of saying--take it, dabo!
(before we start stomping on the floor and shaking the room)

"RE: E10 (update)"
Posted by dabo on 08-07-01 at 02:59 PM
Again, OFG, all valid points. I have been committed to the bootee pick since the promo was posted, nothing can change it, but as you were a fill-in writer on episode 9 you can perhaps understand the predicament whoever writes episode 11 will face. It will be much easier on him or her if I can give that writer advance notice of certain things about episode 10, for example any further supplies that may be salvaged by the castaways, character developments, and the like. Still, I have now posted a commitment about getting the episode out within a specific timeframe despite what happens, and there are a few who have voted in the past who are not currently on vacation who we have yet to hear from.

"RE: E10 (update)"
Posted by Outfrontgirl on 08-07-01 at 03:47 PM
lol, dabo, of course you can do what you want and when you want. I was just encouraging you to feel free.

If you want certain people to vote first than that's your prerogative. I hope they know who they are and get over here! (I hope you're not waiting for not sleeeve because he told me he was on a forced hiatus for this one due to factors having nothing to do with your episode.)

That said--to take you up on your point about the next writer's perspective on advance notice (keeping in mind that people work differently): I had GT's whole episode a few days before she posted it, but didn't do any serious work on follow-up until I saw the response from the group. As I've said before, it's my particular bent to incorporate the feedback as part of the story development. If I were following you instead of preceding you, I would prefer having your episode out there and seeing the board input--as much information as possible.

Then again, unlike you, I never do much work in advance; I write when I'm under pressure, because I hate getting down to the task of actual writing (although I like it once I get over the hump). That being the case, the sooner the real pressure started, the sooner I'd get going.

It's true the Ep 11 writer (because unassigned) might take longer than a week if you don't hold off, but then it's already been a week since the end of Ep 9 went up, and eleven days since Pt. 1 went up. You are entering Superman TTL territory, my friend!

Will look forward to a treat whenever it appears...

Posted by Outfrontgirl on 08-07-01 at 04:39 PM
Hey dabs, guess I'm avoiding work again, cause just for fun I went back to the Ep 9 vote thread to see who the mystery voters were that you referenced that haven't put out for Ep 10.

Ep 9 got 23 votes. Ep 10 stands at 18. So you're down 5 on the numbers, or so it appears... Here's the current tally:

Ice--6
GT--4
Surv--4
OFG--2
RR--1
DK--1

Of those who voted last time, however, DK, Itz, and not sleeeve are on vacation, Lady Electra was a double vote, Superman has yet to come on line, and GG hasn't been heard from apparently. 6 accounted for already.

The other missing voters from last time are only 3:
MakeItStop, SurvivorChick, and JV.

Plus, you got 5 voters this time that I didn't: Misty, ICB, Gerbees, OFG, and Ronnet...so you're actually ahead

*Hoping dabo looks at the hard numbers and sees that it's a pretty normal turnout and hopes our Superhero will appear soon*
