"something interesting I heard on the radio today.."

...on the radio the morning guy was reporting that the internet site that is taking bets on Survivor... I think its called Interpod or something like that...I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about....well anyway, he was saying the the website was reporting an inordinate amount of bets coming in this week from Burbank CA, all picking Tina to win.

Burbank is less than a mile from the CBS studio, or so said the radio guy.

Now, my only question would be....if this is true, why would the website reveal this news?? Wouldn't that give a lot of poeple the opportunity to jump on the "sure thing" and lay down money on Tina....so now I'm wondering if the website made it up in an effort to get people to bet on Tina, even though they think Colby or Keith is gonna win.

Just thought I'd post it...something to bounce off the wall.

the site is called intertops.com and it does appear to be legit - if you go there and click on the reality tv thing after you click on the sports book on the front page - it goes to the odds - i think they were listed like tina 1/2 (you win 1 dollar for every 2 bet), colby 1.0999/1 or something wierd, and keith at 6/2 (basically 3-1). gambling on tv shows or previously determined events is illegal in nevada and most places - but this site, like most online casinos is offshore (antigua) where it can basically make up it own rules regarding gaming. it does appear to have been in business quite a while though and looks legit.there was an article where i guess they took bets last year when they got to the final 10 and they had dicque hatch as the early favorite to win.
casinos generally don't care who wins or loses - they make their money on the 10% juice losers must pay on top of their bet- and adjust the odds accordingly- for example - say they had 1 million bet on tina - they would change the odds a bit to try and get all the bets closer - with the ideal situation being- 1 million also bet on colby and keith combined (or whoever the losers are)-they would still make 100k on the losers "juice".
so it appears that it could be a very good spoiler if , say the odds on tina or colby by thursday are like 1/10 (bet 10 dollars to win 1). there are a few what ifs of course such as well what if the jury talked to eachother and decide to whisper to someone close who to bet on-
who knows - maybes its MB final great red herring but at this point, I don't think so

First Post but I read everyting here...

The Website in Question is www.Intertops.com

After Last Weeks show the Odds were

Tina Even

Colby Even

Kieth 3-1

They Now Read

Tina 1/2

Colby +130

Kieth 9/2

This mean alot of Money has been bet on Tina in the last couple Of days

"Could This Be Why"

Could the reason everyone is betting on Tina have anything to do with the rumor that the Elipsiiis person with the inside information is saying that it will be a Tina/Colby final 2?

This is Big Orange and Tina Wesson country.

it's actually not a huge difference on the amount of money bet on anyone ...yet. when i checked the site tonight the odds were the same as i saw yesterday (colby was about even money), but if they had colby at +130 when you checked, basically that means you have to bet 130 to win 100 on colby, thus his odds are about 1/1.3, or not a whole lot different from tina at 1/2...the spoiler value would be more in a dramatic change, as if tina or colby went to someting like 1/10 (you must bet 10 dollars to win 1), 1/20 or more, or if colby and keith start going up, such as colby suddenly becoming a 5/1 shot (win 500 if you bet 100)- to try to get more money bet on him and make it safer for the bookies. this is still a possible interesting spoiler - and if the odds are gonna make a dramatic change it will probably be right before the show starts- and/or ellipsiiis pick is in (wed night?)- (next fall for S3 hopefully it will be right before survivor blows pick is in of course)

Not To Nit Pick but actually it is a Big Jump...

1/1.3 Means You Win 130 for 100 bet not the Other Way Around

It would read 1.3/1 if it was -130

As for Tina going down to 1/2 from +100 Means She Dropped Past 11/10.. 4/5...3/5...2/5....

Considering Colby has been the Favorite all season long on Most Web Sites.. I think this is a Significant move

also check www.caribsports.com...www.athomesports.com www.sportsbook.com and www.mvpsports.com and Tina is the Favorite there also...

I work in the Industry (I Do not know who Won) But I found out Richard won last year ( There were Local Hollywood Crews on the Island Last Year as Oppossed to all Australians This Year). Last Year Despite Everyone thinking Richard had no Chance he was the Betting favorite at all these Web Sites...

For what its worth
