I missed the last 15 minutes, but I was so disturbed by that point, it didn't matter. I kept thinking "why doesn't this girl quit?", it's so horrible any reasonable person would, then they would back off and reel her in again. She is going to hate this guy when it's over.

So will I watch again? Of course The gargle was great. Also loved the sex therapist "honey, I love you, will you **** me?" Train Wreck.

That laugh is killing me.
But Steve was not as over-the-top this week.

And, I must admit, Lusty Carp looked pretty good in the wedding dresses.

His Family? They are gonna be great and funny.
Her Family? That Mom is going to be great, too, but she won't know how funny she is. How dare she "decide" who her daughter will marry.

Boy, this show is mean.
I hate LustyCarp's family so much, I can't wait to see them humilated for their shallow elitist attitudes.

did you see her sister playing with her food the way steve was? i was telling kim that a great twist (esp. if her family knows) is to have him run off with her sister!!

Sorry to burst your bubble... but that was HIS sister showing the chewed food.

Of course, he could run off with her.

I think his "family" are actors too! What are the odds that his real family can pull this off as good as him?
Of course it could be his real family but I bet it is not. Wonder if they will let us in on that since they let us in on him being an actor?

Actually, the credits list actors as Steve's family... as in:

Bill Smith as "Steve's Dad"

thought this episode was great. Really liked the part when Steve got emotional and had to leave. Makes Randi think that he is having a tough time with this just like she is. Also thought the friend's face at the end of the show was classic wtf.

Loved it. Can't recall a "funnier" hour of reality television. How about where he chews up and spits out the sushi in front of the chef???!!! And then he gargles with the wine. Truly priceless moments.

I don't think they could have cast a better 'Randi" and written a better script if they tried. Her facial expressions coupled with her internal conflict over 'good versus evil and $500K' are amazing.

I am enjoying this TRAIN WRECK.
I laugh so hard I can hardly stand it.
Randi is such a dumb b*tch. Give me a break, all she has to do is go along and she wins the money. She doesn't have to sleep with the guy, just pretend for a few days. Although Steve is making it hard, I think I could put up with a little burping and off color jokes for half a million. She act so offended at every thing he does.
Last night when he made the napkin into a bra looking thing i thought she was going to have a heart attack.Big deal get over it. And when he commentted about the hostess having a nice body.
I also think it is funny that she thinks so much of herself. I am waiting for her to actually come right out and say that she is too beautiful for this fat ugly guy. Like she could only be with a super model(like me). She is attractive, but people often find other things to be attracted to. She is too superficial for that though I am afraid.....

If she thinks this guy is obnoxious, she needs to spend a few weeks dancing in the nudie bar.

The appointment with the sex therapist was hilarious.

Randi needs to get over herself and quick. She's not all that.

I'm with you Breezy

***smooch***

It should have been easy. Pretend a little, have just a little imagination. All she had to do was say "we have a pretty good sex life already, I just wish he was more sensitive and would cuddle". It all would have been over after that.

When he said (i think this is what he said)" When I come home from work tired, sometimes I just want to bang one out" she acted like she had never heard anything like that.....I am sure her attractive boy friends say/do stuff like that all the time.

Where Randi shakes her hooters and the guys all drink shooters....the nudie bar.

*smooch* I miss you.

Her huge problem is her ego, she just doesn't want anyone to think that she could actually be attracted to someone that doesn't have model looks or a model body.

I'm with you guys on this. LustyCarp is not all that.
She was apparently chosen based on the length of the stick up her ass.
And of course, that's perfect casting.
He's being paid to be unlikeable. For her, it comes naturally.

The show is really "My Shallow Greedy Inhibited Fiancee."

I'd love to see her in the nudie bar! LOL!

Measuring the stick up Randi's ass......I think they play this at the nudie bar on Wednesday's.....I am thinking of turing into a tournament thing like darts.

>He's being paid to be unlikeable.

>Greedy Inhibited Fiancee."

This has put me on the rollercoaster when watching the show. There are times when I can see that she's visibly, horribly suffering, and that pain actually makes it hard to watch.

Then I remind myself that she's done absolutely nothing to show she doesn't deserve it -- along with a fair amount which indicates she just might -- and I start to enjoy myself again.

Shortly thereafter, Steve does something that has to be karmic payback for an earlier incident in her life, and I'm amused until I see how much she's clearly suffering -- and around and around we go.

Think she'd have this much trouble if it was one of the hunks being equally rude, crude, and obnoxious? Or would it just be charming traits that added character to his personality? The poor (in looks, her view) are crazy, the rich are eccentric...

And yes, let her wince, curse, and pray. Let her family scream, let her parents try to dictate her entire life, and watch her entire existence collapse when someone objects at the wedding, or walks out, or both, and she realizes she never had a chance at the prize money. But I'm predicting the loudest cry of anguish in the series is going to come from us -- when FOX gives her the money anyway.

ITA Estee. I think that most of her discomfort comes from the embarassment being with Steve. How many times has she told the cameras that she would never date someone like him, and that everyone who knows her will know she'd never be with someone like him.

I think you've seen the future.
It's not pretty, is it?

They'll give this insipid woman the money just for trying, even after everyone walks out on her. They have to, because they have to tell her it was all a set-up to watch her crumble and humiliate herself.
In that way, there's a little "Jane Schmoe" in this. Although she is not even remotely likable.

>I think you've seen the future.

No, it's not. And I'm not even going to throw in a 'I'm very probably wrong' on this one. She's getting the cash, period. And if there's a sequel, the next subject/victim will probably sign a contract saying 'No cash for failure, ever' and wind up with the pavilion.

(nods) I'm imagining Matt as the victim/groom in this situation, and his phantom representation is taking this a lot better than Randi... (Of course he is. It's my imagination and Matt's going to shine in it.)

Now that I think about it, I'm equally offended by Steve's fate in this one category. I really, really doubt he's getting paid $500,000 for this job. Actor's Guild scale and free choice of any five pieces from his on-set wardrobe, probably. He's the one doing all the work here, and is he going to see a major payday from it? No. Some media exposure, a few more commercials, and, if he's lucky, character actor minor parts in TV movies. What Hollywood perceives as 'John Goodman parts' -- compotent, generally loveable male who just happens to shop in Big & Tall stores -- tend to be filled by John Goodman. Anyone signing this kind of contract had better insist on the words 'sitcom development deal' somewhere before the fine print starts.

(Edited to add space between paragraphs. You'd think I'd have memorized that by now...)

I.Heart.Steve.
This guy cracks me up! I laugh at everything he does! And not just because of the obnoxiousness (is that a word? lol) of it- I think he's genuinely funny. I would love to have him as a friend, I think it would be a blast.
And how stupid is Randi? The thing that continuely annoys me is that she keeps saying how she's playing for a million dollars. Ummm, babycakes, were you not listening to the host? You're only playing for 1/2 million. She must have carp in her ears.

I have to admit, this show is taking me back to the heady days of the first Joe Millionaire.

Steve is hilarious. If I were as greedy and DAW-ey as Randi, I would have a blast doing the show with the guy.

Randi was cast in this part because she's so shallow and superficial. She was the pretty girl in high school that made fun of the fat chicks and pimpled geeks. When she made amends with Steve in the rain, she wouldn't even stand within ten feet of him. You can tell she has a holier-than-thou attitude toward people who don't look like models. She treats him like he's diseased or something.

One dynamic I like about it, is the emotonal rollercoaster ride that Steve puts Randi through. I think that Steve is doing a fine job so far.

My Cute Lovable Obnoxious Husband loves this show! I can just see my husband doing some of the stuff Steve does. I can see me laughing and telling him "cut it out" or "I can't take you anywhere". If I felt sorry for her I wouldn't be able to laugh at this. But the fact that she is doing this for greed (and she thinks she is so much better than him) makes this hilarious.

I love all the stuff Steve is doing. I love to watch her cringe. I want her to be humiliated in front of her friends and family. She thinks she is so much better than him that nobody could imagine her with him.
