"Survivor 2nd Chances III: Final8 to Finale"

Posted by tribephyl on 01-20-12 at 06:13 AM
LAST EDITED ON 01-20-12 AT 03:29 PM (EST)

60 or so days ago casting began on an initial pool of 100+ past survivors whom were booted before the merge in their original season, down to 20 who would get their 2nd chance to win.

Upon reveal of the arctic location, the 20 survivors were right away thrown into turmoil.
Nothing about previous seasons really applied as the survivors, right away, were placed on one tribe.
Then, only at challenges, did they break into teams. Sometimes 6 on a team, sometimes 3, sometimes even individual but always with someone who had to have their torch snuffed.
And as they started getting snuffed it was clear the guys were on the outs.
First boot was Ibrehem, followed by Marcus, then Bob-Dawg and Jonathan.
Not until the 5th TC did we see the roles reverse and the ladies started getting their torches snuffed.
Leading them off was Kelly, then Wanda failed a very important challenge, then Mikayla & Misty became the first 2 double boot victims followed closely by the 2nd double boot duo of Christine & Jacquie.
Then we "merged". Into One longhouse under two sleeping policies. Either on the floor as "still in the game" or in 4 poster beds as "losers".
This is because at this point the booted survivors don't become jury members, they just get cushy sleeping assignments until the end.
The Jury Votes instead belong to YOU players. They have to be earned and so far 6 of these coveted Jury Votes have been won. Congrats to D'Abby(2), taffnic, krismiss, Corvis, CTgirl.
As part of the merge, the survivors won some prizes too. Tanya and Russell both became "PowerPlayers", with an advantage at every challenge they participate in.
And Two Hidden Idols were distributed as well. To whom, I cannot completely reveal as only 1 of those idols has been flushed but the other still remains...

We're not done yet... After the large spate of female boots it was time to fill up the 4-posters with guys.
Those first two 4-poster beds went to Aaron and to Brady.
Next up, Bed 3 with only 8 survivors still in contention for the title of 2nd Chance Champion.
Here they are...

Amy

Angie

Brian

Gina

Hunter

Michael

Russell

Tanya

LAST EDITED ON 01-21-12 AT 05:57 PM (EST)

The survivors will be throwing projectiles.
Not at each other but at targets.
Sadly it's soo snowy right now you can't really see much of anything. Look...

Wow. Like zero visibility.
Anyways...
Starting in the "Stones" arena, the survivors try their hands at flinging small rocks.
In each match-up which survivor will hit the target first?
Please pick a match from below and choose your winner.
I will only be accepting 7 different matchups so pick soon.
I'll tally all the results and reveal the winners of the "Stones" round and move those 'who should' forward into the "Spears" arena.
Where PowerPlayers Tanya and Russell await their arrival.

Stones 3: Gina

Finally we have the "Shotguns" arena, the survivors finish up the challenge with some more targetting.
For the final phase there will only be 3 match-ups.
In each of the match-ups below you will pick a winner.
In a switch from the previous two phases, for each of the match-ups, a total of 5 "hits" need to be made/divided.
You will not only decide who wins but by what shot margin they win by as well. Decide whether the match-up will result in 3 to 2 shots, 4 to 1 shots or 5 to 0 shots.
For instance;
Coach Vs. Cochran - Coach wins with 3 hits, Cochran with 2 hits.

At the end of the three match-ups the survivor's hits will be added up and perhaps we will come to a winner.
Please also, do them in order. 1, 2, 3.

Ooo I swear I see something this time...

Regarding this:

You mean the others won't even get to vote? We spent 60 days playing this game for nothing? If so, I'm out.

We spent 60 days playing this game for nothing?

I've been playing for the fun tribe provides us! I just wish some others had joined us, so tribe's talent could be enjoyed by more people.

"RE: Question:"
Posted by michel on 01-20-12 at 11:54 PM
...says the one with 2 jury votes! Maybe you could give me one!

"answer"
Posted by tribephyl on 01-21-12 at 04:49 AM
Aww... michel?
1st, well, I'm very sorry. That is indeed the twist I had come up with. I can guarantee I had not counted on giving 5 of the Jury votes out in 1 challenge. That, I'm dissappointed in but I can't quite fix it now. I will make sure to accomodate for a playoff situation for future challenges. So I don't have to give out more votes than needed.

2nd, there are still 2 Jury Votes left. Don't give up now.

3rd, What the ##### do I get out of this? I get to watch, describe and re-cap some of my favorite survivors get kicked out un-ceremoniously.
I get to have public dismissals of my twists, management and number crunching. Most of which can be done privately but if you feel the need to do it publicly, then fine. I can't stop you.

Believe me, IF I HAD CONTROL... Only Gina, Amy and Michael would be in the current F8. But I don't get a say, I don't get a vote. I don't get to play. (okay, not entirely true. I did add Jonathan and Wanda into the original cast. But I already know how you feel about both of them.) And now that I've actually stated it aloud, I imagine the three of them will be the next three to go. Whatever. I'm used to it.
Hopefully, and my aim is, to have people enjoy themselves. I don't mean to ruin your life, your time or your enjoyment or offer stuff that you'll never be able to have fun with. But sheesh. Go easy. This stuff isn't easy to create and come up with different enough twists as to not be boring for those of you who have played multiple times.
This ##### takes me a lot of time. Yes, I ##### up. I'm not perfect. Believe me, I often can't believe anyone even plays my games at all. But as long as they enjoy it, so do I.

However, when people don't enjoy (and then gripe about it openly) it makes me feel like I should just pack up my ##### and go.

Perhaps I should just hand it all off to you?

As for everyone else who happens to read this message... I'm very sorry about my tone. I don't want for anyone to recognize it as someone who's lost control. But at this juncture in my life it would be hella easier to do exactly that by just dumping it all.
However, I love this stuff. I would rather stay, by first saying...
Enough is enough. "FOUL"s and "I quit"s aside I really did hope we could just wile away some time in between seasons. If you'd rather not play, then don't. But stop with the griping, please.

And I would also love to note that this is an open forum. If you want to take a stab at this, start your own game. I would love to, for once, be a player myself.

I think the overwhelming majority of us appreciate all the work you put in to do this. And it's your game and your rules and you should stick by 'em.

So thanks, tribe, for all you've done. And I apologize for being AWOL for a little while there when real life took me away from being a regular visitor of this site.

As I told you in PM, I am sorry to have hurt you. That wasn't my intent because I second Corvis' words.

For me, the vote is the game, not the prize. I don't care for winning as much as I like playing.

I have been thinking of hosting a game for a long time but you and Belle have had one running practically non-stop for a while now. If you want to play, tell me and I will start something for the next off-season! Anyone interested?

Ach, I play games here because at least there is some chance I get to win compared to the games I have to deal with IRL. Those games I don't stand a chance of winning or having a say in the outcome. At least I get a chance of knowing what the rules are here.

I take them for what they are, a diversion from the chronic a$$holiness of the real game of life. Tribe, if you only knew how much the change of scenery helps. sigh. I'll be immersing myself in the Lodge, thank you Obi-Tribe, you're my only hope!

Tribe made me flaky

"10th TribalCouncil"
Posted by tribephyl on 01-23-12 at 04:50 PM
The targetting challenge ended up resulting in Angie showing EVERYONE how it's done. With Stones, with Spears and with Shotguns, Angie wasted the competition and has been awarded with the F8 immunity.

So now comes the time to make votes and snuff a torch.
Par usual, all votes will need to be made via Private Voting Booth. After the votes have been received I will snuff the survivor with the majority of the votes. Unless of course, that survivor has the remaining hidden idol. In that case the survivor with the second most votes received will incur the snuffing. Don't want to forget that there is a 4-poster bed waiting for the loser.

Anyways, here are the survivors whom must go to the 10th Tribal Council...
Amy
Angie *IMMUNE*
Brian
Gina
Hunter
Michael
Russell
Tanya

Angie looks to be keeping her immunity (like she had another option?) and there is still that hidden idol but go ahead and start voting.

Welcome survivors and players to the reading of the votes for the 10th Tribal Council.

Angie was immune but Amy, Brian, Gina, Hunter, Michael, Russell and Tanya were all nervous about the votes.
It's getting down to the point where every decision will be difficult as to who's favorite still remains and which one's torches will be snuffed.
Survivors, count yourself lucky for being here at this moment.
Players, your votes were counted and will now be presented in as much of a dramatic way as can possibly be...

The first vote is for...

Russell

Wow. a power player. hmm...

Next vote is for...

Russell

2 votes Russell.

Next vote is for...

Tanya

wow. the other power player. 2 votes Russell, 1 vote Tanya.

Next vote is for...

Tanya

Yeah, my favorite... a tie. 2 votes each Tanya and Russell.

Next vote is for...

Tanya

3 votes Tanya and 2 votes Russell

Next vote is for...

Tanya

4 votes Tanya, 2 for Russell

Next vote is for...

Tanya

That's five, that's enough. Don't say your goodbyes, you'll be sleeping in a 4-poster bed, just bring me your torch.

*snuff*
the tribe has spoken.

For the rest of you survivors...the next challenge begins below.

"F7 Challenge: RedKing 13"
Posted by tribephyl on 01-26-12 at 05:54 AM
LAST EDITED ON 01-27-12 AT 02:40 AM (EST)

First of all, this challenge will begin a three tribal council cycle. An accelerated triple boot (within moments of card-play) if you will.

RedKing 13
This game is similar to BlackJack (21), wherein each survivor will be "dealt" cards in hopes of getting the closest to 13 without going over.

Each of the survivors will be dealt their card(s) by YOU.
Your choice of card will be somewhat unknown as the deck will be separated into 3 draw piles "Low", "Medium" and "High"
Also note that... we're in a different country, we're lucky they have cards at all. But theirs are square and with different than normal symbols.
Rather than Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds and Spades... The symbols are Fire, Snowflake, Star and Moon.
Luckily they still use A, J, Q and K.
"Low" denotes: Ace(1), 2, 3, 4, 5
"Medium" denotes: 6, 7, 8, 9
"High" denotes: 10, J(11), Q(12), K(13)

With 7 survivors this game will last three rounds. (And result in 3 tribal councils. a.k.a. three boots. Strap in.)
Playoffs; with 7 survivors. (TC with 3)
Semis; with 4 survivors. (TC with 4)
Final; with 2 survivors. (TC with 4)

Your job for the playoffs is to choose a survivor and then choose a pile to pick your card from.
I will post the resulting card choice as soon as I can, but you will only be allowed 1 pick per calendar date.

Rules for Playoffs:
Any King is worth 13. If a King is the first card the survivor receives, they will automatically be included in the semis.
If a survivor receives one of the 2 Red Kings as their first card they will automatically move to the Finals.
Other combinations of 13 will also be automatic inclusions into the semis.
The first 4 survivors to reach 13, without going over, will move on to the semis.
OR
The first 3 survivors to "Bust" by going OVER 13 will NOT move on to the semis.
They will instead be going straight to the 11th Tribal Council where one of them will be booted from the game.

Then, we'll move on to the Semis.

Here are the survivors and the card piles...

Supposedely this is the stage where alliances start to crumble. So I'm expecting a flurry of votes and most likely a possible tie. *holds breath*

*gasps*

Okay, the 1st vote is for...

Russell

The 2nd Vote is for...

Michael

1 vote each Russell and Michael.

The next vote is for...

G...Russell

Okay, that's 2 for Russell and 1 for Michael. None for Gina.

Next vote is for...

Russell

Allrighty, 3 for Russell 1 for Michael.

Next vote is for...

Russell

Well, that pretty much seals it. Russell with 4 votes, that's enough, bring me your torch.

the tribe has spoken.
Your 4-poster bed is waiting.
And the 12th TC (plus the RedKing13 Finals) to take place next.

Allrighty then, this is moving along nicely and we've already seen 1 survivor take the walk of shame to their 4-poster and we're about to witness yet another. Or at least vote.

For the Semis Brian busted out and Amy simply didn't win, therefore the two of them join the 12th TC alongside Gina and Michael.

I know you just made one, but I need you to step back in to the Private Voting Booth and make another one.
This time it's between: Amy ~ Brian ~ Gina ~ Michael.

Which one should have their torch snuffed, you decide.

After you've voted, go ahead and step into the next phase of the redking challenge

Welcome to the red king finals. It's between Angie and Hunter.
RedKing 1326
This game is similar to BlackJack (21), wherein each survivor will be "dealt" cards in hopes of getting the closest to 1326 without going over.

Final; with 2 survivors.

Your job for the finals is to choose a survivor and then choose a pile to pick your card from.
I will post the resulting card choice as soon as I can, but you will only be allowed 1 pick per calendar date.
(This includes those from previous rounds who've already posted today.)
Rules for Finals:
The Cap has become 26 points.
Again, the number you're trying to reach exactly is 26.
All values are reflected as they normally have; King = 13, Q = 12, J = 11, A = 1, Numerals = numerals.
The first survivor to reach 26, without going over, will win this challenge.
OR
The first survivor to "Bust" by going OVER 26 will go directly to TC 13.
Here are the piles (depleated, mind you) and the survivors.

: BUSTED - OVER 26
: Congrats! You've won!

So, please visit the Private Voting Booth and give your votes for 2 tribal councils.

TC 12 has Amy, Brian, Gina, and Michael up for bootation.

TC 13 has Angie. Plus 3 of Amy, Brian, Gina and/or Michael up for bootation.

2 votes from each of you and I'll move along to the Final 4...and soon the finale!

I know it was a long time ago but maybe you remember how it was when Mara"amu won their first challenge. It was episode #5 and Gina still hadn't won a single challenge and now she was left alone with 3 ex-Rotu members. Seeing her joy as Jeff finally said Mara'amu had won reward is, to this day, one of my favorite moments in Surivor history.

As in her real season, Gina hasn't won much in this game so I think it's about time we hear the host say Gina wins immunity.

Upon countless hours of agonizing over the decision BEFORE going through with it, then even more agonizing hours spent deciding if or how it should be handled after the effect, I have finally decided to go ahead and make a game changing alteration.

1stly, ALL participants will have a vote for Final Tribal Council.
2ndly, Those who won a "Jury Vote" prize will be afforded an EXTRA Vote that will also be counted at the Final Tribal Council.

It's not only the fairest thing to do but I think you've all worked very hard at keeping up with, following and playing the game and therefore should ALL reap some sort of benefit from it.
It's meant to be all inclusive and therefore I shall end it that way. Sorry for any hard feelings regarding this twist. I hope this can somehow make up for it.

Your job will be to help them build these fires by giving them the materials to do so.

There are 5 parts to a winning fire and the first survivor to achieve all five parts IN ORDER will win the immunity.
Starting with;
"Firewood Frame",

2nd will be "Coconut Fiber",

3rd is "Flint Strike",

4th is "Pile of Sticks #1"

and finally "Pile of sticks #2"

Please post with the survivors name and the numbered item you are donating them. Thank you.

"Final Tribal Council"
Posted by tribephyl on 02-11-12 at 05:16 PM
Undoubtedly, two of the most popular players to ever play survivor, facing off against each other for the final vote.

As stated earlier, you are the Jury.
And each of you will get to place a vote for the Survivor you want to win the title of 2nd Chance Champion.

Also because of previous perks I have 6 additional votes to hand out:
D'Abby(2), taffnic(1), krismiss(1), Corvis(1) and CTgirl(1).
You five will get to make an additional vote (D'Abby gets 2 additional votes).

(And of the 10 playing players that's 16 votes for 1 of 2 survivors.)

So I present to you...
Gina VS Michael!

The Final 2!
And in a couple of days 1 of them will walk away as the 2nd Chance Champion.

Any last words?
Gina?

Gina: Yes. Thank you very much for this opportunity. I honestly did NOT think I would make it to the end. My popularity is based solely on being the nicest of the targets. My hope was to NOT be the target this time and it looks to have worked out. I was worried about Hunter, I was worried about Amy, I was even worried about Brian, all making it farther than me. To have outlasted them is surprising to me and frankly I can see any of them sitting here aside from me. In fact, I'd love to see any of them here right now. As Michael is a hugely popular opponent.

Michael: I dunno, Gina. I feel like my popularity is linked solely to being medevac'd. I know I can kill pigs, I know I can build shelters, I know I can win challenges. What I don't know is if I can shake this victim persona. It's final vote and I'm up against arguably the nicest survivor to have ever played. I'm so nervous I could faint. But being so close to a fire, I don't want to chance being med-evac'd again.

JPtribe: Well, Honestly, I couldn't think of a nicer pair of players. Perhaps not the hottest. Nor the most strategic. Nor the smartest, nor adaptive, nor saavy. You are however, the nicest bunch of survivors on this season. And when the season gets so heated between players (and hosts) but ends up with the nicest folks in survivor history as the final 2, I'm tempted to just end it now with a dual title.
However, such is not the case.

Time to start voting...

Please make your Final Tribal Council vote(s) via the Private Voting Booth making sure to note that these votes are FOR the WINNER.
You are voting for who you want to see win the title of 2nd Chance Champion.

"The Case for Gina"
Posted by michel on 02-11-12 at 06:07 PM
While Tribe called her nice, I think there was much more to Gina's game so here's why I think she should win.

First, she stood up to Boston Rob! Not many players ever did that and survived. Russell is the only one and he needed an idol and Tyson's stupidity in order to avoid getting the boot. Gina told Hunter that Rob's alliance with Sarah was dangerous and she told Mariano that she would vote how she wanted to vote not how he would be telling her to vote.

There was also her enthusiasm for the game and the joy she showed when she finally won an immunity challenge in episode 5. She was a true outdoorswoman, having a BSc in wildlife ecology and working in a nature center.

Mostly though, there was this reward challenge to remember:

http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=youtube+survivor+marquesas+reward+challenge&pq=youtube%2520survivor%2520marquesas%2520reward%2520challenge&sc=0-0&sp=-1&sk=&mid=B7C7EDD7D8A97B4B7E2EB7C7EDD7D8A97B4B7E2E&FORM=LKVR28#

The clip starts by showing the arrogant Rotu4 reading tree mail and rejoicing because they just knew they would win not only the challenge but the game itself.

Then Rob and Zoe gave Rotu a huge lead and it looked like the canoe part was only going to be a formality with the General and John going up against Kathy and Gina. But Gina and Kathy caught up to the Rotus and it was a photo finish. Jeff first called Rotu the winners but Gina protested: The General wasn't at the tiki when John planted the flag. Jeff also realized that Rotu’s boat hadn’t been put in the right place so he was forced to backtrack and declared Mara’amu the winners.

Mike, like Varner always said, was an idiot who worked himself into exhaustion. You must remember that scene where he wanted to kill all the chicken they had just won. His thinking was that if they ate them all right away, the tribe would soon be hungry again and he'd regain his provider role. I also remember how he thanked God in front of everyone for making him the leader of Kucha! While he was gone hunting, Varner was making sure he'd be voted off as soon as he wasn't needed anymore.

"Finale"

LAST EDITED ON 02-19-12 AT 01:41 AM (EST)

Good Evening and thank you very much for your patience.
The jurors have had plenty of time to mull over their votes, co-mingle, plan and never the less, alternate those plans.
It is very interesting to see where "alliances" lay during the final vote.
It is also very interesting to see how this whole season played out.

From a pool of 100+ characters only 18 (plus two redemptive players) made it through the rigorous casting process and through semi-regular challe.... no wait ... unpredictably placed challenges these 20 survivors whittled themselves down to 2.
Well, ultimately 1. But at this point the worst of two worsers is better than a return of anything Hantz related.
Our pre-merge boots were...
Ibrehem, Marcus, BobDawg, Jonathan, Kelly B, Wanda, Mikayla, Misty, Christine and Jacquie.
Post merge the bootees were...
Aaron, Brady, Tanya, Russell, Brian, Angie, Hunter and Amy, leaving just...
Gina and Michael facing off for the title of 2nd Chance Champion.

And a plethora of votes were cast, not just for final TC but for all previous ones as well. And for all of those votes I want to thank you all for participating and making those votes each and every TC.
I cannot do it without you.
Anyhoos, since I have you on the .... screen ...
As far as the greatest amount of 'voting for the actual bootee' records are concerned.
CTgirl reigns supreme as having made a bootee vote 15 of 17 TCs.
D'Abby and taffnic are close, both with 13 bootee votes.
While krismiss and Spot close out the top 5 with 12 bootee votes each.
and of the participating players...
michel: 9
Corvis: 6
Georj: 6
suzzee: 5
Belle: 3
agman: 1
martini: 1

But when it came to the final vote, only 15 really counted.
And without further ado the reading of the votes.

Okay, I can't read these all singley.
So in a 12 to 3 vote trouncing, the Survivor 2nd Chances 3 Champion is...

Gina Crews!!!

Congrats, Gina! You survived the arctic, you survived the castmates and you survived the votes. Well done!

And since it's in my blood to hype.
I must mention that a new game will be starting soon(ish).
I've been readied for some pixelpushing and just want to tease you all a bit with the premise...

Survivor: Now, You Decide.
I have it on good authority the Greek Isles will be the backdrop and I for one love grease...err Greece.

See you there.

Once we got down to F4, any of them deserved to win. In fact, I had such a hard time choosing at F2 that I split my votes! Good job, Gina (and her fans).

Thank you, tribe. I had lots of fun and can't wait to see what awaits us in Greece.
