"Big Brother 13 ECST Week 2: Jordan's Putt Putt HoH"

Posted by vince3 on 07-17-11 at 06:32 PM
When we last left the hamsters, Keith attempted to heave his partner out the door after tanking the Veto Competition... only to get shoved out himself when Kalia and Shelly, two of the newbie players, decided that he was more trouble than he was worth. That granted Porsche a Golden Key and a free ride into the Top 10.

Next up was the HoH, and it was a closest to the hole putting competition... without going into the hazard. Rachel determined the order and put all of the newbies up first. Dominic had the lead and then Kalia tied it up before Jordan, the first of the three eligible Boomerangs to play, took the lead. Jeff than rocketed a shot out of sight, and Brendon putted his shot into the bunker, granting Jordan the HoH.

Who will she put up, will the nominations stick, will we have another tank job in the POV? Will the Boomerangs get their choice to receive the Golden Key again? Who knows?

Graphics now have Keith and Dicque's exits: Keith out the door, and Dicque on his way to the DR before he departed.

Porsche: So sad, NOT!

Dominic: is looking for answers... I feel that I got multiple shanks in me...

Kalia declared that her vote was because Keith called her out previously.

Shelly outwardly expresses anger, but she's aligned to the Boomerangs.

Lawon's ticked, as is Adam...

Now we see the end of Jordan's HoH win. (It's Day 13, BTW.)

We see the celebration of Jeff/Jordan/Rachel/Brendon as we get a confab in the Padded Cell of the Newbies. Shelly proclaimed that she wasn't the one... Adam claims he didn't.

Kalia's awfully quiet, as is Dominic at least outwardly.

Kalia also is silently lying that she wasn't a vet vote.

Rachel visits the leftovers briefly before stating that 'some of us like Porsche..."

Dominic tries to ask Jeff who voted for who... Nobody's claiming to vote for Porsche, but there are 6 who did...

Rachel and Porsche celebrate in the Supply Room before telling her about her conversation with the Newbies in the Have Not room.

Kalia gets thanked by Daniele, but they don't (supposedly) know who vote #6 was...

Shelly talks to Adam and tried to push the blame toward Dominic... (signal carped out)

Dominic bemoans his fate, figuring that Adam sold him down the river, and they figure that Shelly was a straight shooter... as she tries to put Adam against Dominic.

Dominic figures that maybe he should try to sidle up with Daniele to save his bacon...

Dominic: "It's time to get crazy and start making some deals."

Looks like Rachel is going to drive the purring Porsche until her mileage runs out.

"Daniele and Dominic: flirt alliance?"
Posted by vince3 on 07-17-11 at 08:26 PM
Daniele tries to play that Porsche isn't on her side but then Dominic cozies up to Daniele to try to keep his a$$ alive...

Rachel/Cassi: AWKWARD! Rachel's washing dishes, and Cassi's skulking around the kitchen not talking to each other... AT ALL!

Jordan: Who wants to see my HoH room?

Dominic's DR response: *makes like he shoots himself*

Jordan likes the new HoH room because it's big and cozy for her to hang out with Jeff.... not that kind of hanging out...

*cues superhero music*

Brendon comes out in his outfit from his POV competition and plays superhero, as well as shows the camera 'Franklin' the supposed house pet (a fake turtle)

Dominic plays along as a supervillain to try to keep himself safe, by any means necessary.

Adam heads up to HoH to try to this time actually follow through with a true deal with the Boomerangs... but since he's stabbed them once, Jeff doesn't trust him...

Continuing with the 'flirt alliance' we get to see a long conversation between Dani and Dominic in which Dom pleads his case to her...

"RE: Daniele and Dominic: flirt alliance?"
Posted by cahaya on 07-17-11 at 08:43 PM
Rachel and Cassi are in a passive-aggressive mode cat fight. Cassi sits in the dining area staring at Rachel's back and Rachel senses a pair of eyes stabbing into her. Rachel wants Cassi out!

Dominic says he's about to "sell his soul" to the Dani Devil. Dani looks kind of devilish in that hat of hers, too, with the brim shading her eyes from the spotlights.

Brendon looks like a total flake in that outfit, along with his attachment to Franklin the turtle. Welcome to the funny house. Dominic plays along.

Adam basically does the equivalent of a rollover and show your throat submission gesture common in the animal kingdom when he tells Jeff that they know how to play the game better than the newbies. Jeff's the big bad wolf, Adam is the pup.

"Have/Have Not Competition"
Posted by vince3 on 07-17-11 at 08:37 PM
Brendon/Rachel are trying to figure out who's running the opposing side: Dominic or Cassi?

Each couple is combined into one ant costume.

They must march march across the 'picnic table/blanket' and get 4 'food crumbs'

They have to get over a sandwich, through a can of baked beans, over a hot dog where there are ketchup/mustard fountains before getting the crumb...

Whoever gets 4 first, chooses two of the other couples to be Have Nots.

Lawon/Kalia had issues when they fell down, same for Cassi/Shelly. (Kalia/Cassi were the ones that were the one in front which meant that they would be on bottom when they faceplanted/crawled on their bellies...)

Adam/Dominic and Brendon/Rachel are neck and neck to get the win, and....

Brendon/Rachel win the Have/Have Not Competition!

After the competition was over, Kalia is splatted and is hurting very muchly inside the 'baked bean can' MEDIC!

Brenchel do a slight cheat with the ant uniform half open, given themselves more wiggling room.

Kalia probably is beginning to regret sending in her application to join the BB House of Horrors.

It's the payment for being on BB, getting tv exposure and getting to lay out in the sun for a few weeks. Participating in comps that make you look ridiculous is BB's evil payment, heh.

"Medical arrives"
Posted by vince3 on 07-17-11 at 08:51 PM
They literally cut Lawon out of the 'super ant' suit, but it seems that it was only minor damage.

Once Medical clears out, Brendon/Rachel choose Adam/Dominic/Cassi/Shelly as the Have Nots.

Dominic and Cassi quickly complain about that... and then we get the reveal of Jellybeans/Jerky as the Have Not bonus items, as selected by America... Dominic complains about it in the DR, Adam is loving it...

Dominic heads up to HoH to plead his case to try to keep himself safe somehow, some way...

Cassi then comes up later on and tries the same thing... both are given 'if we don't nominate you, you can't nominate us' kind of deals...

Daniele/Jeff/Jordan confab in HoH on who to keep or nominate. It seems that they want to (as of the shown meeting) keep Dominic over Cassi... but that can always change...

It sounds like the next HoH competition will be based on stuff voted on by America in a poll that will close Tuesday at noon Pacific.

What do you think of the HouseGuests? Your opinions will help determine the winner of the next Head of Household Competition! Vote now and tune in to Big Brother on Thursday, July 21st at 9/8c to find out how you made your mark on the Big Brother game!

Vote here.

The catch? You have to answer 20 questions starting with:

Which HouseGuest would you want to give you mouth to mouth resuscitation?

"RE: America votes"

I looked at the questions. A lot of them are snarky, bent on humiliating a houseguest. I predict more Rach tears after this comp.

"Nomination Ceremony"
Posted by vince3 on 07-17-11 at 08:57 PM
Jordan starts to grab the keys and as she does, we hear from each Newbie on if they think they're gonna be nominated...

Jordan decides to choose the nominations that would be best for herself/Jeff...

Jeff is handed his key, and he's sitting to her right.

Key order:

Rachel/Brendon
Shelly/Cassi
Kalia/Lawon

Adam/Dominic are your nominees: I don't know where your heads are at as it compared to what you would do if you were HoH, as it concerns me...

Again, the first keys are issued by a boomerang to other boomerangs, in a (whether conscious or subconscious) display of aborigine domination of the proceedings.

Adam looks worried. Very worried.

"Shelley is a player!"
Posted by michel on 07-17-11 at 09:52 PM
I was impressed by the way Shelley handled her vote against Keith. She got Dominic and Cassi to admit they trust her and the boomerangs don't have anything against her. Shelley could go far in this game.

"RE: Shelley is a player!"
Posted by cahaya on 07-17-11 at 10:00 PM
She's keeping her cards close to her chest, doesn't overtly try to create or crack alliances, tries to get along with everybody by not speaking ill of others (other than in her confessionals), and most of all, cleans the house. She's sort of a Cinderella housemaid who might trump the other drama queens of the house.

"RE: Shelley is a player!"
Posted by zazzy on 07-18-11 at 12:02 PM
She also acts as coach to the other newbs, making them think she is on their side. Like telling Adam to play for himself.

At the same time, she is telling Jordan she wants to see her and Jeff get as far as possible on the show, that she wants Jordan to win for her family, etc.

Shelly tells people what they want or would like to hear.

Rachael studied the past years' BB comps to prepare for the show; I believe Shelly might have studied how to win friends and influence people to prepare for the show.

"RE: Shelley is a player!"
Posted by Belle Book on 07-18-11 at 04:42 PM
Shelly's route is probably the wiser choice. After all, you can't win every competition, but you can win a lot of friends and influence a lot of people -- and the real name of the game is alliances.

"Nominations Fallout"
Posted by vince3 on 07-20-11 at 08:10 PM
LAST EDITED ON 07-20-11 AT 08:11 PM (EST)

Adam: I hope I'm the Pawn...

Dominic: I'm the Target! I need the POV or I'm toast... Can't trust Adam...

Jordan: Dominic's the ringleader of the main Newbie alliance... we need to get him out!

Rachel: WTF?!? Cassi was supposed to be the Target! If we can't trust you to make the right nominations, how can we trust you later?

Adam/Dominic/Lawon have a confab in the Have Not room that they need to fight for the POV...

Jordan tells Adam: Throw the POV, and we'll protect you...

Rachel and Porsche talk trash about Cassi in the Have Not Room, and it's Pot-Kettle... and Lawon comes in and gives a DR grief about it....

Daniele/Dominic talk in the Ice Cream room, and they're trashing the Boomerangs... are they gonna be together or not? Daniele wants Dominic to do her dirty work for her... for now, at least.

Night falls, and it's Daniele and Rachel in the bathroom wishing that Dominic wins the POV, so they can put Cassi up... Daniele wants to shove Cassi under the bus, and they wonder why Jeff (and Jordan) want Dominic gone more when they don't trust Cassi...

"RE: Big Brother 13 ECST Week 2: Jordan's Putt Putt HoH"
Posted by vince3 on 07-20-11 at 08:17 PM
Rachel/Brendon/Jordan confab to want Cassi out...

Jordan: Cassi said one thing to Rachel, and it's blown WAY out of proportion... She then talks to Jeff about it because she's worried about being two-faced because Cassi's sweet to Jordan vs. bitter to Brenchel...

Jeff complains in the DR: Calm the fvck down! Relax, you're driving us crazy!

Jordan and Cassi talk in the HoH... Jordan: You're pretty, and it's a curse... Rachel's jealous...

Cassi: This is why I didn't tell them I'm a model... didn't want the pettiness that is coming out anyways...

"POV Players Selected"
Posted by vince3 on 07-20-11 at 08:21 PM
Jordan draws: Brendon/Rachel to play with Jeff/Jordan and Domini/Adam...

Dominic: Carp!

Daniele will host after pointing to herself...

Brenchel talk in the Supply Room about whether they'll change the nominations if they win the POV for their 2nd week in a row... Cassi's gotta go!

Rachel talks with Daniele that they're gonna go for the win to make a deal with Dominic... but will it tick off Jeff/Jordan? Daniele: hey, if that keeps Dominic and it's no blood on my hands, BONUS!

"Veto Competition"
Posted by vince3 on 07-20-11 at 08:34 PM
Daniele comes out in a Queen competition...

Candy theme in the backyard this time.

Individual winner to take a duo off of the block!

Dominic: Thank God!

Be the first to chew enough gumballs to cover the POV symbols...

If you fall off, you're toast! UNLESS: You're willing to go on Slop for 2 weeks! However: If you fall off a 2nd time, you're definitively toast!

To get the gumball, you have to walk across a balance beam... which is where the fall off can happen...

Adam's having balance issues, as is Brendon!

Jordan falls off and was about to take the 2 weeks of slop, but Jeff convinces her to not do it... Jordan's out!

Jeff's irritated because Jordan is getting a pot shot from Rachel... Rachel then falls down, takes the 2 weeks of Slop (much to Jeff's chagrin...) Rachel then falls down again. She's now OUT!

Rachel then becomes commentator, trying to root on Brendon... which is driving Jeff CRAZY!

Dominic wins the POV! "Come get some! I'm still here!"

Cassi: I think I'm gonna be a replacement Target now...

Jeff then complains to Rachel about her antics during the competition as they're still outside... and Rachel's not happy about it... Brendon tries to tell her that wasn't exactly the best thing... but she's not off the ledge yet... Brendon: Use your head!

Dominic: Break up the Boomerangs! Rachel goes on a crying jag behind a shrubbery...

"The much-overhyped incident."
Posted by Estee on 07-21-11 at 07:20 AM
The amazing part is how minor this turned out to be in the end -- and how short-sighted on Rachel's part. She was upset because Jordan didn't keep fighting for the Veto? She didn't want Jordan to get the Veto! There was too good a chance of the nominations staying stable if the current HoH took the Blingie: why would Rachel want Jordan to take a second chance at all? Did she just really want to see Jordan on slop for two weeks?

And any claim that Jordan wouldn't step up is ridiculous. Jordan did step up -- she almost had the slop market in the gumball bin before Jeff talked/ordered her out of it. Jordan would have happily competed all the way into three weeks of cold showers, no mattress, and having to sleep in the sink.

All that happened last night was Rachel's emotional instability coming out. Again. Because she can't even be happy about getting what she wants.

Oh, that poor bush.

"Boomerangs Breakup?"
Posted by vince3 on 07-20-11 at 08:47 PM
We rejoin Rachel's crying jag, already in process... Brendon again tries to diffuse the situation...

Kalia: LAME! If you're gonna bark, you better have the bite...

Jeff: Brendon has a level head... Please calm her a$$ down!

They finally file in... Lawon sees Brendon's butt still pointed to a bush... and doesn't know what's going on...

Rachel finally emerges from the bush, and she immediately wants to make some of her now mandated slop...

Cassi: Please dig a hole, Rachel!

Jordan: Awkward...

Dominic: Celebration time! This is the first competition win by a Newbie...

Adam: Best case scenario! I kept my word to throw it, and I'm also gonna be off the block!

Jeff is still ticked off about Rachel's antics in HoH... Jordan tires to figure out why she's doing it... Jeff: This is why you got evicted last year, Rachel!

Jeff: Is Rachel worth the grief of keeping her? Should we backdoor Brendon/Rachel to get peace in the cage?

Rachel is finally off of the ledge, but is still eating Humble Slop... or not! Rachel: No wonder America hates me!

Summit meeting in the HoH... Jeff tries to hash it out, but is Rachel's apology sincere? Rachel's still walking a fine line that is irritating Jeff/Jordan...

"Veto Ceremony"
Posted by vince3 on 07-20-11 at 08:57 PM
Jordan brings Cassi/Shelly up to HoH and tells them that they're the last ones she wanted to put up on the block...

Cassi wants Brendon/Rachel out sooner than later... You have a chance to get rid of two ultra competitors now!

Jordan: Do what's best for me, or best for my alliance?

Jeff: I would stand by your decision either way... but in DR: This IS a golden opportunity...

Dominic emerges from the DR and grabs the POV medal... I'm gonna use it, but will Cassi go up in my place?

Jordan: what am I gonna do...?

Brendon: If we go up, Jeff/Jordan will go up next... We're your shields, dammit!

Dominic will use the POV... Jordan, choose a new duo to put up.

Jordan: Cassi/Shelly will be the replacements... It's the best option to further my duo's life in the game...

Shelly: I want to keep going no matter want...

Daniele: I'm glad that's the decision, so that will mean Dominic will team up with me once Cassi's gone...

Cassi: If it was anyone else, I wouldn't mind campaigning against them... I like Shelly, though... That will be hard...

Rachel: Finally, Jordan does the right thing!

Agreed. Had Jeff and Jordan turned on them, most of the rest of the House would have been more than happy to see Rachel off. Jeff saw the opportunity, too, and had it been him instead of Jordan making the final decision, he might have pulled the trigger.

However, Jordan seemed to think that even though Brenchel are probably their biggest long-term threat, they are also their best short-term insurance -- provided they stick together.

As it is, Rachel will likely get her wish to see Cassi off the set and they'll all have to suffer Rachel's presence for at least another week. Had I been in Jordan's position, I would have targeted Rachel.

As an aside, I've written an episode summary found here.

Currently Day 20...

Veto meeting was on Day 17.

Shelly: This stinks... I'm hoping I'm safe, but it would svck to see my friend go...

Cassi: Chances of me surviving: low.

Rachel: I always get my way!

Jordan: I didn't want to do it, but the rest of the alliance wanted Cassi out of here...

Shelly made a deal with the vets and that decision might've been Cassi's death knell... They discuss about whether to campaign or not... They have a crying jag in the Have Not room...

Jordan's also crying in HoH, because Jordan feels bad about it...

ThermaCare product placement behind Jeff...

"RE: Veto Meeting fallout"
Posted by vince3 on 07-21-11 at 09:14 PM
Shelly is unhappy that she's being a bad example for her kid because she's lying/deceiving/etc. and that isn't what she's trying to raise her kid...

Cassi brings Rachel into Have/Have Not to try to clear the air about what brought Hurricane Rachel down on her... Rachel's blaming lack of communication... and Cassi no sells... and even pulls that "I rooted for you last year and this is how you are?" This sets off another Rachel crying jag... and she calls Cassi ugly on the inside... Pot? Kettle.

Jordan tries to reason with her about Rachel's behavior... Daniele, Jeff, and Brendon also try to calm Rachel down...

Cassi refers last week's deal-making to get swing votes and wonders 'what happened?' with Brendon.... and things get twisted up and they're now going at it...

You could break a wrist from direction changes in trying to decide who to slap first. Personally, I'm going for I Always Get My Way, who can now get one of her patented two-second doses of reality, which she will promptly forget about as soon as it's over. Forever.

I'm officially tired of trying to defend Rachel at/about anything. And just as officially done.

You? Defended her?!

A little bit last season, mostly based in job choice and what everyone thought her future ambitions were supposed to be. It can wear you out in a hurry. I can still defend profession and ambition, but Rachel personally is exhausting and pointless.

Have/Have Not splatterings across the board...

Lawon gets asked about the difficulty... and Kalia's injury.

Adam's asked about Dominic's POV win to keep him alive... and Dominic asked how it feels to win.

Rachel's asked about her temper tantrum, too...

Home looking for Adam/Dominic.

Adam: Hoboken, NJ and the bar he hangs out with... He's lost a lot of weight (over 100lbs) to be on the show. We're shown his BB Scholar status... and then the boos from Dominic's attempt to stab Adam.

Dominic: San Francisco, CA and his friend's house. He was homeschooled, and this is his first time sleeping away from home... He's the 25-year old virgin... Her friend comments about the Dominic/Daniele flirt alliance...

"They're trying to make Hoboken look metal."

Please stop.

Notice that Rachel basically defended herself to Julie by repeating everything Jordan said to her -- Jordan, a near-zero on school learning and book smarts, but her social reading skills are coming along. (Then again, Rachel is pretty much your all-pictures touch-and-feel baby's first book.)

Odds on an HoHterview this week?

Chenbot... Jordan... Gawd help us all...

Jordan's asked about Rachel's temper tantrum and about her initial thoughts after the POV to put up Brenchel...

Jordan is asked a fan question about when they're gonna get married and make babies? First they have to move into the same state!

Lack of throwing under the bus this week in the speeches... but maybe some advice from Shelly: Be careful who you step on on the way up, you'll meet them on teh way down...

Rachel: Cassi
Brendon: (Dance move) Cassi
Jeff: (fist bump) Cassi
Adam: Cassi
Dominic: (fake fight) Cassi (Deathblow)
Daniele: Cassi
Kalia: Cassi
Lawon: Cassi
Porsche: Cassi

By a vote of 9-0, Cassi will be evicted... after the break.

Daniele and Porsche are wearing their Golden Keys (to remind everyone that they can't compete in the HoH...)

Cassi claims cattiness about part of the reason that she got the heave-ho... she tried to downplay the beauty by not washing her hair/wearing sweats...

Did the Regulator's alliance attempt end up being a reason for their ousters...

The cut in Shelly's message got my attention. If Shelly's DR is to be believed (and good luck with that), she wanted to confess her prior vote. That cut may have been removing her admission -- which can't influence a juror: Cassi's out too early.

More and more, I think we have sequestered departees.

"RE: Chenbot lair"
Posted by zazzy on 07-21-11 at 10:14 PM
Julie's comment about a change in the game means someone's coming back.

They sure gave Cassi a big build up and spent no time on Shelly because they knew Cassi was going and wanted to give America someone to root for.

Also, the Adam/Dom spotlight...wondering if that foreshadows them being on the block with one of them going only to have one voted back in. (Dom)

Otherwise, I think Lawon is vulnerable. Jeff made a negative comment about him last episode IIRC. There is not much choice for Rach unless she wants to screw her vet alliance. I hope Bren talks her out of that.

BB will have them talk it for the cameras so they can show it on the show, though. Just like JeJO did about potentially booting Brenchel. That was all BS.

"RE: Chenbot lair"
Posted by michel on 07-21-11 at 10:29 PM
Yes, the cuts in Shelley's goodbye was to keep Cassi in the dark because Shelley kept saying she felt bad and her vote is the thing that would make jer feel the worst.

But, who are we kidding? The returnee will be Dyck.

Zingbot's in attendance! "Comicon or bust"

Big Brother Online: They must choose between A or B of the poll questions...

1. Mouth to Mouth: Jeff or Brendon? Jeff, all safe.
2. Warm the pool? Adam or Kalia? Adam, all safe.
3. Steal a lover? Rachel or Porsche? Porsche, Kalia's out.
4. Save from a building? Shelly or Brendon? Brendon, Jeff's out.
5. Bikini time: Porsche or Daniele? Daniele! It's down to Brenchel!
6: Cheat on a test: Jordan/Lawon? Jordan, both wrong.
7. Goes Bananas? Adam/Dominic? Adam, so Rachel wins the HoH again!

Brendon is again safe.

I hate to say I told you so, but... 3-3 on quiz HoHs for Rachel.

I guess that makes her all three of 1) smart, 2) a smart aleck and 3) a smart ass.

Celebrity visit on Sunday's episode... and since there wasn't a poll for Bonus Items, I'm betting that means Movie Tie-in Luxury Compeition....

Thursday: A shake-up in the game is expected... More than likely that means end of Safety, Nominations, and other things as a duo... the 'Merge' will hit, and everyone's in it for themselves...

Peeps are thinking it is a tie in with Crazy Stupid Love. Steve Carrell or Ryan Gosling perhaps?

I actually would laugh if it's the Smurfs... and it wouldn't be the first time Neil Patrick Harris would have been in the cage...

Yep, I think it is Neil Patrick Harris. He is a big fan of BB , he is on a CBS show and The *shudder* Smurfs is out in theatres next week.

Considering that we just back from NYC with a visit to Central Park, I think 7-year old DD will like the movie!

Will is gonna be pissed. Skipping a season to be with his family? Prioritizing. Missing out on NPH? Priorities shattered.

I am trying to pretend that movie doesn't exist. The TV is not cooperating.

Yeah, I think that "shakeup in the game" bull$hit is probably excessive hype referring to the end of the partnership/golden key phase of the game and the beginning of the individual game. Although a returnee is certainly possible, I think it unlikely. If, however, there is a returnee, with Brenchel still in the house I hope it's Evil D1ck. Yeah, I hated him in his season and thought somebody should have beaten the $hit out of him, but this season I'd give my left nut to have him back in just to see him torture Rachel. I can't stand that selfish, immature crybaby b1tch, and if a full bore Evil D1ck attack drove her to voluntarily quit, the sooner the better, it'd make me a happy man. Get that witch the hell off my TV show! And let her choke Grodner on the way out.

I agree! having D1ck come back to make Rachel miserable would be great

I agree, but that can not happen because Danielle was given the free pass because D!ck quit.

"Rachel's record in HoH competitions"
Posted by vince3 on 07-22-11 at 01:01 PM
She has competed in 5 total HoH competitions, and she has now won 4 of them.

The only one that she didn't win the HoH... was the team-based, prize awarded for your position across the gap, hot-dog swinging contest that started last season... (Hayden won that one...)

The others: 3 quiz-based and one endurance based (this year's initial HoH competition, hanging on to a banana...)

Like last year, the only way to get rid of her might be the week after one of her HoH reigns...
