We left our non-Lane Final Four hamsters decorating a Christmas tree... from the other side of a chicken wire fence.

"HoH winner"

is Hayden, for his third reign overall, and 2nd in a weeks' time. (Was the HoH for the Double Eviction speed up cycle)

No shock there, he had a pretty big lead when SeeBS went off the air.

So if you're Hayden, how do you solve the Britney-Lane problem? Fail to nominate one, they win the veto, save the other, and there goes Enzo. Nominate both of them and one wins the veto, saves themselves, becomes the lone voter, and there goes Enzo.

As usual, it's all about the veto competition this week -- and until the medallion lands, all HoH decisions are potentially pointless.

Agree. Everyone has to play for the Veto this week.

If Lane can, I see him throwing it to Brit, then he still somewhat keeps the blood off of his hands.

>>> Fail to nominate one, they win the veto, save the other, and there goes Enzo.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the veto winner can't take anyone off the block this week unless veto winner stupidly decides to go up and give up his/her vote. Two people have to be on the block.

If a nominee wins, they come off and get to decide which of the other two non-HOHers goes home.

If the non-nominated non-HOH wins, noms remain the same.

If HOH wins POV, HOH can switch up his own noms to have the person of his choice making the vote.

In the first three scenarios, POV winner chooses who to evict.
If HOH wins POV, the person he leaves off the block decides, and may or may not vote how HOH wishes.

I figure there are two shots at Enzo leaving and two at Britney leaving.

Britney wins POV - Enzo goes.

Enzo wins, Britney goes.

Hayden wins, he takes Enzo off the block or keeps noms the same, Britney goes.

Lane wins, Enzo goes.

No. If the veto winner is the lone voter, they can still save one person from the block. There's no replacement nominee: the lone original just goes home. That's why the veto is so dangerous at F4.

This has happened -- Season #4, I think.

Season 5. Cowboy's one and only challenge win of the season, followed by his sole vote to evict his sister.

LAST EDITED ON 09-04-10 AT 09:44 PM (EST)

I remember Cowboy having a choice who to evict, and he chose to evict his sister because he wanted to win. That's what made it interesting.

ETA I looked up Michael/Cowboy. Nominees were Nakomis and Diane. He won Veto. He didn't save anyone. He evicted Nakomis. He was the sole vote because both nominees stayed on the block. If you could save one of the nominees, there would then be two people eligible to vote.

BB4, from Wikipedia
"The final veto competition occurred at the final four, not at the final five like the previous year. The Diamond veto was of the utmost importance to the game. At the competition, Alison emerged victorious, winning the power to remove herself from the nomination block and casting the sole eviction vote. Despite having promised both Jun and Erika to take them to final two, Alison chose to evict Erika."

"Some POV history"
Posted by Outfrontgirl on 09-04-10 at 10:19 PM
I looked it up, and the POV winner has only once been the non HOH non-nominee, and that was Michael/Cowboy. He left the noms the same (Diane and Nakomis), and cast the sole vote as is always the prerogative of the one who is not on the block (and not HOH).

No one in that position would ever need to save someone by taking them off, because that person has the sole vote, and can save whichever one he wants in the vote process, not through the veto.

Only one other time has the veto winner not been a nominee, and that was BB9 when Ryan who was HOH won it. He did not change his noms.

The only two veto winners who were nominated and didn't use it on themselves were Marcellus and Danielle. Marcellus was at F5, and as we know paid the price for stupid.

Danielle left herself on the block and saved her father. This meant ##### was the one with the sole vote.

To sum-up, there are always two nominees. There are always two choices minimum for the vote, even for the final round, when the HOH gets the vote. The POV winner does not automatically get the sole vote at F4. It's the person who isn't on the block or HOH. In BB8 and BB9 both, the players voting (##### and Adam) were not veto winners.

Fair enough. I'd always understood it as a byproduct of the rules: Veto winner can't be nominated in place of a saved hamster, so removing one at F4 leaves one -- effectively casting your vote before the actual tally. Also your basic raised middle finger towards the HoH, the evictee, and probably the rest of the jury.

The rules as I understand them allow for it -- but the DR probably scrambles to keep it from happening. The show has little enough suspense without killing it that completely.

On the other hand, it would continue this season's tradition of no protest votes. My, this was a lot of sheep.

"Upcoming Comps"
Posted by samboohoo on 09-03-10 at 09:42 AM
Is BB messing with them?

Shouldn't we have had a morph comp by now? I know Ragan was planning for one.

Also, last night's HOH was a curveball. Usually it's that step up/down comp with the three people in that circle type booth. I was not expecting that kind of comp last night.

Maybe they are trying not to be so predictable.

"RE: Upcoming Comps"
Posted by vince3 on 09-03-10 at 10:32 AM
It might also be because their timing might've been thrown off slightly with the #14 hamster that didn't enter the cage... They had all the games planned out, but then had to move a couple around due to her not going in...

Expect the unexpected, I guess.

I wondered if it was because there seems to be mad studying going on in there.

Also, during Lane's HOH week, I found a new attraction to him, tats and all.

"Yet another stupid Pandora's Box."
Posted by Estee on 09-03-10 at 05:09 PM
This one's currently in progress. Hayden is missing and the other three are tearing the cage apart looking for hidden objects, one of which is the HoH key. Each person may have one thing to look for -- no idea why or what they get if they find it. The feeds were out for nearly two hours before this came out, so there's a lot we could have missed.

I think this twist has run past its useful lifespan. (Two seconds.)

"Britney wins 10k from Pandora."
Posted by Estee on 09-03-10 at 06:56 PM
Apparently each houseguest had a coin (including Hayden) hidden somewhere in the house: Britney found two of them, no one found hers, and that put the money in her pocket. (Britney's was in the garbage, stuffed inside a cereal box with chicken wrapper padding -- and Hayden, before leaving, took out the trash.) They may have hidden their own coins: not sure just yet.

Lane may offer her his $91.12 as an even-up trade. Or possibly just the $0.12. (Lane: as bad at math as he wants to be.)

"POV Competition is over"
Posted by vince3 on 09-04-10 at 11:19 PM
It was the mostly annual Season In Review competition in some form and fashion...

Your winner? Hayden.

That should clinch an all-Brigade F3.

"RE: POV Competition is over"
Posted by Outfrontgirl on 09-05-10 at 09:52 PM
unless Hayden and Enzo have a sudden "brain" storm whispering to them that Britney would get fewer votes. I'm not at all sure that would be correct. They might also be afraid to compete against her for endurance. I don't know that loyalty to the Brigade has a place in this decision. It would be easy for them to rationalize that Lane favored Britney over them last week, and that one failure in loyalty deserves another.

Posted by kingfish on 09-08-10 at 12:12 PM
Be like me. Root against them anyway. Or at least make fun of them. Enzo and Hayden make lampooning them pretty easy.

And Lane wanting to take Britney to a bar and buy her a girly drink to quiet her down, then beat up her boyfriend? He's pretty easy to dislike, IMO.

If Britney goes, there goes my main source of entertainment, and I'll be sad.

If only Hayden had won the head shaving. If only.

"Live feed shutdown"
Posted by vince3 on 09-07-10 at 09:51 AM
Hamsterwatch is reporting that from sometime today until after the show airs on Wednesday (possibly not until midnight EDT, so that the Westies aren't early spoiled...) the feeds will be shut down.

This will be because they will be taping Wednesday's 'Live' show and Final HoH Part 1 during that time... They've already had the camera yesterday, and there has been massive construction underway in the backyard.

Via some peeps from Twitter in attendance:

Britney was evicted.

The endurance comp is Jungle themed, and it has them on vines banging into one wall, then a waterfall, then another wall... (basically a modified version of the George of the Jungle endurance HoH they had during BB10...)

The worst part was I was over at a friend's house watching it last night. Thankfully, she keeps her living room dark, and I had a couch pillow that I always hug to my body, so I could hide my face.

Thank goodness I was alone in my bed. The worst part for me was Lane and Britney.

I thought her goodbye was great. And they gave her a very extended goodbye from Lane. Watching him watching her cry killed me. At that point I was a mess.

Also, did you notice she didn't really give a shout out to Nick? And remember a few weeks ago her mom saying she could tell Brit liked Lane? That struck me as odd too. Maybe her mom isn't wild about Nick.

And then I cried for her knowing she had to go be with Rachel/Brenden and Kathy.

Gosh, it's almost as if they ganged up on her just to be mean!

The most game-knowledgeable hamster and dedicated feedster in the house can't sniff out a four-player alliance? Maybe she should have spent a little more time circulating within the cage and a little less looking for comedy in confessional.

Britney's epitaph: 'Wasn't Anywhere Near As Good As She Thought She Was.' Which is generally a problem when you think you're a deity incarnate.

I agree with you somewhat about not being able to sniff out that alliance, but to her credit, she really thought she was in like Flynn with Lane and Hayden. Those two did a good job.

I still have very little sympathy for her, but my perception of Britney was hit early by her Mean Girls pairing with Monet combined with the sure and certain knowledge that she'd hate me on first sight. Vocally, loudly, and for hours on end. It's a little hard to root for someone I know I've got as a natural enemy.

Or basically, too bad, so sad, and if you ever do get together with Lane, we could potentially start a betting pool on how many months it took for the play chokeholds to go real.

I've seen vampires without that much fondness for necks.

Thank you. I thought I was the only one that did not have sympathy for this girl. She lies and is the biggest fake of them all. She had alot of nasty names for Rachel, but what do you call a girl who is engaged and flirts with other guys and does not care that her fiance is watching.

ITA.

She was playing Lane so well, and had the human "tree trunk" as a shield (the shots of him trying to figure out which pix went with which clues was priceless.)

IMHO, Enzo was being kind to let her in on the Brigade before she went to the Jury House. He was right to show her that much respect. Left to themselves, I doubt Lane or Hayden would have had the same consideration.

It is funny how her (Brit's) edit has changed. First she was the mean girl along with Monet (and I hated her then), but they rehabilitated her edit-wise. I guess they changed her edit her becasue she started being such a funny and accurate and quoteworthy personality.

Estee, why do you say she would hate you on sight? She's Southern? She's sort of WASP'y? She's blonde?

They're not sure if Thursday is the finale no one is telling them anything.

Remeber a week or so ago when Lane was trying to BBQ and he got a grill fireball near his crotch?

Well, the house that Britney and Nick were going to move into after tonight has burned down, possibly an aftermath of Nick grilling last night... House is a total loss, their dogs and Nick are safe, but more than likely, she's lost a lot of her possessions...

The day will come when I feel sorry for her.

Not easy --

-- unless the show keeps this from her, in which case, she gets an immediate, free, and potentially long-term pass. This is news she needs to have and keeping it from her in the name of 'no outside contact' would be the act of a Grodner.

The article says it's a rental, so the odds of her having insurance on the possessions just dropped by A Lot. This would be the time for America to drop the 25K in her hands -- jury stipend won't cover anywhere near enough.
