Well, that didn't take long to see our first revenge HoH, didn't it?

Rachel wins the tiebreaker of the Majority Rules HoH, and there are a lot of targets for her to hit...

Also, Annie/Production left one final Sabotage after the HoH competition, something left under the Nomination chairs' cushions....

They will be notified about Annie's Saboteur role soon enough...

This really is Anyone Could Go Up Week. I can't pick out a most likely nomination pair: she could easily go with any of the Brigade, Britney, or Monet. Kathy's probably safe, as is Ragan, and Kristen is just barely registering on radar. Brendon is absolutely protected here unless we get a major fight in the next twenty-hour hours...

Toss a dart and hit a nominee.

Hayden will be one. Monet, Britney and Rachel aren't friends but it would be stupid to create more enemies. Does Rachel know about the brigade? Will she find out in time?

From the confessionals, those two are enemies she already has. It may not be entirely in public view yet, but it's not as if she's going to change their opinions by putting them up.

Knowing about the Brigade... it wouldn't be that hard to figure out who Hayden was hanging around with. You'd hope being a professional scientist would give her some powers of observation: we'll see what she manages to deduce.

Or she could just stand aside and give her boyfriend picking power as a show of tru luv. Stay tuned.

Bull crap. No woman worthy of jugs that big would even consider allowing her "boyfriend" to exercise such power when she can exercise it herself and cause all kinds of havoc in the process. She'll give Brendon the chance to state his opinions, but that's all he'll get. She'll put up whoever it benefits her game to put up, and the Brigade better say its prayers she's not onto them, because if she is, 2 of them will land on the hot seat.

I've spent the last three minutes trying to get this to work out to a 100% compliment. It's not going well.

I don't believe I intended that as a 100% compliment. I think she's a phony, as are her boobs, and I don't doubt for 1 second that she'll use them for manipulative purposes. She'll let Brendon THINK she cares what he thinks, but he'll find out soon enough that she no more cares about him than she does about any other Tom, D1ck or Harriet on the planet.

Greetings from The Last No-Repercussion Openly Discriminated Against Group In America! ('Worthy'. Feh.)

Which doesn't mean she isn't a manipulator -- but looking at her actions below, she would be playing a very strange, extremely long-term game. And so far, Rachel hasn't been openly seeing much beyond the needs of the next ten seconds.

She's a professional scientist working as a VIP waitress in Vegas. If that isn't just a false claim aimed at putting the others off the trail, it might speak to her professional skill. Or maybe not, chemists without advanced degrees are often basically lab technicians, and VIP waitresses with the right bounce might do pretty well.

BTW, (chalk this up to personal ignorance), could "VIP Vegas waitress" be code for high class Vegas escort?

"RE: Big Brother 12 Live Feeds Week 2: Revenge of Rachel"
Posted by Estee on 07-16-10 at 08:11 AM
I read it as 'I've been working on my degree and tuition is expensive, so I've decided to put myself through college on the Skimpy Outfit Grant.' Not the first person to go that route, and she won't be the last.

could "VIP Vegas waitress" be code for high class Vegas escort?

It's not impossible -- but in this case, I'm guessing she's a waitress: even this show wouldn't risk the kind of pointless scandal a hysterical public would bring out for the other option.

Even so... if she's working in a major VIP area, she wouldn't need to be on this show for the money. The post-tax numbers on half a million are almost always nice, but the weekly stipend would represent a major drop in her theoretical income from even a moderate establishment. Maybe she came to find her Tru Luv.

Or maybe she's just a DAW.

...after several days of sound torture, the hamsters finally decided it was time to go on a cricket hunt: noisemaker located and finally destroyed by the pair in the next bit, plus Enzo. (Who'd think they'd be the ones to get rid of annoying sound?) Also, Annie left a stink bomb behind: the hamsters felt that was lame.

...Britney and Monet went on a Mean Girls beyochfest rant against Rachel and Kristen. Because they could. Because they enjoy it. But mostly because neither one is Them, and that's all they'll ever need. (Consequences? Oh, those are for lesser beings.) Plus Monet now thinks she's fat. Imagine what they would have done with Janelle.

...Rachel wanted to get the other former Have Nots into HoH to sleep there for the night, but the Voice Of The House shot her down.

...Brandon used the term 'Our HoH' with Rachel, so you know he thinks he's got an active hand in the proceedings.

...Rachel got roaring drunk -- or, at the very least, slurping drunk. (Enzo memorably described this state as 'Bojangled'.) Her move into the HoH room was supervised by field-sobriety-test-conducting Kathy: most of the hamsters cut out as soon as mandatory camera time was over. Rachel may have needed serious help in unpacking her lingerie. And walking. But not in having sex, or at least attempting to get pretty close to doing so: she expended a lot of effort in trying to get Brendon a little further . And he? Changed the subject. To Science! -- and then fled. (Hamsterwatch suspects he's a virgin. 'Camera-shy' might also be on the list... it's a major jump from live on the feeds to amateur night at Grinders.)

...Hayden demonstrated his fascination with Dutch ovens to Kristen. (It sounds like more of a secret alliance than a pre-existing relationship. And that's just Hayden and the oven.) But he did think Annie could have been the saboteur. And he also thinks he and Kristen were cast to be paired up. He's really trying to follow through on that part.

...there's at least a little support in the cage for Britney & Monet going up: the Mean Girls act wears thin fast when you're not participating. And that support? Partially comes from Rachel: she was discussing it with Brendon and had it as a primary option. (Monet at least suspects it and described this as the worst night of her life. She also accused Rachel of being an alcoholic. For starters.)

...we all realized it's only going to get cattier from here...

Monet's a model. Most models would probably fear getting fat.

If I was either Britney or Monet, I wouldn't dare start talking trash about the HOH. You know why? Because the HOH will probably find out -- and then I'd be on the chopping block! Then again, Britney and Monet probably weren't cast for their brains, so I'm not surprised they don't realize what goes around comes around. Though maybe Monet might have some inkling of it if she said that would be the worst night of her life.

"RE: Overnight..."
Posted by Round Robin on 07-17-10 at 03:01 AM
They don't cast for brains on that show. They cast for drama and comedy, and looking sexy in a bikini or swim trunks doesn't hurt either, but an IQ of higher than your shoe size is definitely not a requirement.

"RE: Overnight..."
Posted by Belle Book on 07-17-10 at 12:36 PM
Very true. Which means I won't get on the show -- I don't wear bikinis and I think I have an IQ higher than my shoe size (which is 7 and 1/2 or 8). Of course, Kristen might have an IQ which is higher than her shoe size either, but not by much.

I think Monet and Rachel are life long friends. The exaggerated eye roll when Rachel picked Monet for the Veto comp was over the top and now showing to much disdain for the current HOH wouldn't be smart. They are going out of the way to show they're dislike for each other.

"RE: Overnight..."
Posted by Estee on 07-17-10 at 11:59 AM
Which would then mean that for her next move, Rachel would make the brilliant leap of putting her most steadfast ally on the block, figuring a two-in-six chance of getting the veto was good enough -- and if they didn't win it, there was just no way Britney wasn't going out.

*looks at above sentence*

I can't even find a plan in that flaw.

"...showing to much disdain for the current HOH wouldn't be smart."

Too Smart?

I don't think "smart" has had any relationship with BB since the Nakonis season. Even if they are life long friends (which actually could be true) neither could be classified as "smart" players based on what we've seen.

No offense, RGF, that was nice spotting. But with BB DAWS that will eye roll at the drop of a hat...well, I don't know.

"Have Nots/Nominations"
Posted by vince3 on 07-17-10 at 04:43 AM
Have nots are Enzo, Brandon, Britney, and Monet...

Speaking of those last two: Britney and Monet are your nominees... Brigade seems to be safe for now, especially since Rachel wants a double showmance Final Four, just like All-Stars... She thinks that Hayden/Kristen are another showmance, which is some news to Hayden, though he does think Kristen is hot...

"RE: Have Nots/Nominations"
Posted by Estee on 07-17-10 at 06:59 AM
Which turns the question of the day (other than 'is she kidding'?) into 'What's the motivation here?' Is she trying to break up Monet & Britney because she's aware of their Mean Girls alliance and wants to take it out? Does she know what they've been saying about her specifically? Does she really want to have the All-Showmance F4, even when she considers that Will was completely faking it the whole time? Hopefully Hayden has some hidden ball trick lessons under his belt, because that's as close as he's getting to professional acting...

On the other hand, she could be playing the Anti-Angie card: 'Anyone who I think might be prettier than me must go' -- with a potential dose of 'There will be no competition for my man' thrown in. And that? Is just stupid. (Ragan, watch your back.)

But there's also that great truism of both BB and real life: the one who loves least controls the relationship. If Rachel's faking this showmance in order to control Brendon, then she's both a better actress than we usually get in the cage and after the wrong target: he's just not as responsive to her as she'd like. (Brendon might easily control Rachel -- but doesn't know how. Yet.) But if she truly believes in Love and Happily Ever After, with promoting the fairy tales as her goal in the house -- well, scientists have been known to wind up partially disconnected from reality, but generally not this way. The princess delusion should have faded to the background by now, awaiting its return/command performance at the wedding.

Natalie was about four. Rachel may be around nine.

"RE: Have Nots/Nominations"
Posted by Belle Book on 07-17-10 at 12:44 PM
I think Rachel's aware of what Britney and Monet are saying about and that's why she wants them out, although she wants Monet out more because she thinks Monet's a bigger threat in competitions than Britney. The Anti-Angie card may be a side benefit for her, but I think the bigger motive is "They're mean and I don't want them around me."

I don't know if Rachel wants to have an All-Showmance Final 4 or if she just wants to keep Brendon safe. I don't know if she's faking the showmance like your fictional character Angela or if she really believes in True Love and Happily Ever After like your other fictional character Tony. But I think we'll find out soon enough.

"POV Competition is over"
Posted by vince3 on 07-17-10 at 05:48 PM
On a day in which the temperatures in Studio City reached 96 degrees, they had an endurance based Veto competition...

You're winner is: Britney who stayed up for 52 minutes, beating Enzo by 14 seconds, according to Hamsterwatch.

Monet, as expected, is seriously bummed, since she now appears to be toast, especially since she won the $10k from the first HoH competition...

"RE: POV Competition is over"
Posted by Estee on 07-17-10 at 06:13 PM
And here I thought the endurance challenge was us trying to stand Brittany.

Well, we know it was going to be a one-beyotch exit week at best -- unless this is where Rachel's real plan kicks in and puts her target up through the backdoor. There's just one problem with that theory: I'm not sure Rachel has a real plan.

The veto meeting will tell the tale. (Britney will just make up and tell her own for the next five days straight.)

"RE: POV Competition is over"
Posted by Belle Book on 07-17-10 at 06:43 PM
I don't think Rachel has a real plan either. I think she just wants to get rid of Monet because Monet's mean and a stronger threat in challenges overall and the house will go along with it -- better them than her and they don't really care about Monet enough to fight for her survival. Well, Britney cares enough but she's probably the only one.

After Britany won POV, Rachel began the search for a pawn. She and Brandon disagreed a little, which led to tears on both parts. It was coming down to Andrew or Lane.

Then, something happened.

Matt volunteered to become a replacement pawn. Has he never seen this show?

So, right now Rachel is deciding what to do. Whether to pretend to put up Matt and switch it to Andrew, or guarantee safety to Matt without knowing how the vote will go, or take away Matt's game by NOT putting him up, so he doesn't have the cover story he had planned for this move, which he does have because if Andrew goes up, he goes out, possibly exposing the "Bro-gade" alliance. Britney and Monet LOVE the idea of Andrew on the block.

"RE: Saturday "
Posted by Estee on 07-18-10 at 07:17 PM
Matt's arguably the better choice here, even if 'never volunteer, idiot!' is very much in effect at all times. But ultimately, the question is going to come down to Rachel's brainpower: is it all in formulae, or does she have the basic social reading skills a Las Vegas waitress had better come up with if she wants to stay out of the scandal sheets? Because Andrew may not be a guarantee to go out, but he's an extremely high risk -- and if Monet was the target, then there goes the plan.

I'm still trying to assume she has a plan.

"RE: Saturday "
Posted by Loree on 07-18-10 at 10:39 PM
Andrew was one of the few HGs that was happy Rachel won HOH. It is because he thinks of her as an ally.

Why would she put up someone that trusts her? She is only going to make another enemy. Either she loses an ally. Or makes an enemy. Rachel needs to put up someone that would put her on the block next week. Britney and Monet were good choices. She needs to replace Britney with someone else that would put her up.

Posted by Estee on 07-19-10 at 01:12 PM
Some of the hamsters (have-nots?) were locked into old-fashioned stocks and left in the backyard. Sadly, they were later let out.

As for the overall situation in the cage... gah. Hamsterwatch had a good way of putting it: everyone except Rachel is HoH. There is waffling, dealing, double-dealing, forgetting the deal you made three minutes ago, a solid split in the population, Rachel (quoting Hamsterwatch here) making a video on how to be the world's worst girlfriend for the world's worst boyfriend, Brendon is swinging from passive-aggressive to bully as if his PMS medication just wore off, a horrified Kathy just learned we' watching her, and we usually don't get this kind of stupidity festival until Week Four...

I could try to backtrack this mess. I really could. But by the time I finished, there would just be a new mess. And honestly? I'm sick of cleaning up after these 'people'.

Anyone want to try? Because if this gets any messier, it'll be a Pollock. And then Britney will complain about the people who sprayed it on her face.

Thankee: that explains the overlap. (Some days, trying to dig through Jokers is like walking through Arkansas in the hopes of finding a diamond. It's technically not impossible, but the survival rate among the questors isn't encouraging.)

Maybe we'll have an iron maiden next week. Except that Hayden would probably try to sleep with it.

Well, I think Matt probably only needs to get one vote out of possible undecideds Andrew, Ragan, Kristen, and Kathy... (I highly doubt Britney will vote for Monet, unless she sees it's gonna be 8-1 otherwise...)

He already probably has Hayden, Enzo, and Lane (Brigade) plus Brendon (Rachel's boy-toy, and she wanted a Mean Girl to go...)

"RE: Replacement Nominee"
Posted by Belle Book on 07-20-10 at 05:12 PM
True. And if Monet wasn't acting like the Mean Girl she is, then they'd probably realize it would be a good idea to take out Matt as well. But it's early in the game -- and Monet is a Mean Girl, so Matt's safe. Not that I mind -- I'm pretty smart but I'd be sorely tempted to get rid of Monet rather than Matt even if I was in the house -- and I'm not.

"Tuesday night"
Posted by Rebel Crown on 07-21-10 at 04:17 AM
The evening began with a House Meeting to discuss Matt and Britney and rumors about the way Matt was nominated. Matt seemed to hold his own and most people were not persuaded to keep Monet, so it looks like Matt is safe this week.

Then began the endless cirlces of repeating and re-evaluating, which was only ended when BB gave them alcohol. Matt ended up passed out in bed. Kristen fell asleep outside and got yelled at by BB.

The "Bro-gade" still has not been detected, which I find puzzling. The targets on self-named "Branchel" got bigger (if their name is going to be combined, I'd prefer it to be "Ray-don", said in my best Julia Sugarbaker impression ). Hayden and Kristen think no one knows about them being so close - at least Britney doesn't know about it, the others not so much. Andrew spent the day avoiding them all, for religious reasons. Hmmm, maybe he's onto something.
