you are so right about Friends -- except I would say it was only good the first two years. That show seriously jumped the shark when Phoebe was carrying her brother's triplets. EU! Further, that people can welcome someone as acidicly unfunny as Matt Perry into their homes every week is stunning.

Any other Buffy fans worried about what they plan to do for the finale? Especially after what they just did to Xander?

"RE: TV Shows"

I'm thinking that what they did to Xander makes him safe for the finale. I hope so, at least.

"RE: TV Shows"

I was thinking they are preparing us for no one being safe in the finale. Just as long as they don't pull a Dallas and go back to her being insane.

Sugar, I was reading Wanda (er, Kristin) from eonline, and I hate to tell you this, but one of the Scoobies will sacrife him/herself to save the nerd that lives with them (I forget his name). Me thinks that it's Xander (but it could be Anya.)

Buffy will NOT die, according to Kristin. Neither will Spike (who is in talks to join Angel, if Angel is renewed *cross your fingers*), neither will Willow or Dawn. And, Giles stars in his own show in England, so HE cannot die. Faith could become a spinoff down the road (although not for the immediate future, cause Eliza Dushku is just too busy).

It will be one of the two that I mentioned.

Also Tara will NOT be back for the finale.

It should be a fantastic ending. I hear that the special effects team was given extra cash to work with, they are going all out.

I'm assuming at least one will die, I'm just not sure how much carnage Joss Whedon will go for. He could go ahead and kill most if not all of them then just bring them back as needed in other series.

>And, Giles stars in his own show in England, so HE cannot die.

The show he is in is called Manchild (think Sex in the City with 40 something men going through midlife crisis). It's showing on BBCAmerica if you get cable (but be forewarned--hearing Giles discuss his penile implant is just too freaky). Joss Whedon never got the Watcher show they were going to do off the ground. Doesn't mean he won't in the future.

I hate Buffy is going off, and keeping my fingers crossed that Spike goes over to Angel. Wouldn't mind them just spinning it into Faith the Vampire Slayer as she's kinda grown on me over the years. They could kill off Dawn and I wouldn't mind, or Anya. There's still a part of my sentimental self that wishes Buffy and Angel would wind up happily ever after.

Buffy is the best show on TV, IMHO. Xander is upset he is not going to Angel, but would he really fir in there? It's not like Angel and Xander were the greatest of buddies. I really hope this doesn't mean that Xander dies. I also heard that Buffy will just go on like before, no big huge ending.

I also want to state that Hush was my favorite episode of Buffy EVER!

I also like Alias, which is really Le Femme Nikita.
American Dreams
Friends
Big Brother

5. Survivor - It's become the girlfried you stay with out of comfort and familiarity, though. The spark is gone. I just watch it, cuz that's what you do Thursdays at 8.

4. CSI - So what if the science involved is specious at best. It's entertaining, dammit.

3. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - Makes these trying times a lot less trying.

2. 24 - One word: cliffhangers

1. Six Feet Under - Damn you, DirecTV. I was in blissful ignorance until you said "Hey, why don't you have HBO free for 3 months". Now I'm addicted. Bastiges.

Buffy, Angel, Gilmore Girls, Smallville, 24, American Idol, Friends, Survivor, The Simpsons, Will and Grace, ER, The Sopranos and TAR (if it EVER comes back).

Buffy would be the best show on TV, without a doubt. 24 would be in second and Sopranos third.

Although, that Gilmore Girls and Angel keep getting better and better.

See, I knew there was a reason I loved you Katem! Buffy rocks my world and I'm glad to see there are others my age who enjoy it. I've been watching since the very first episode and damn but I'm sad it's ending.

We'll still have Angel (second best TV show) but I'm gonna miss the Buffster.

Not yet, the WB has not made a decision, but insiders believe that the show will most likely be renewed, since the show has a VERY loyal fan base, that is actively campaigning.

They also believe that with Buffy gone, that show's fans will jump to Angel AND Joss Whedon would not have any other shows to worry about but Angel.

Cross your fingers sugar. Angel has really come to it's own, last night's ep was phenomenal.

I know the Angel on WB decision isn't final but and interview with Joss said that it was "practiacally" a for sure, so I'm going to think pretty pink and blue thoughts about it!

You're charming personality was the very FIRST thing I noticed sweetpea...this common interest of Buffy just clinches it for me.

I wonder what Jasmine did with Cordelia. She obviously didn't eat her, but hid her somewhere. I wonder where. I think this will be part of the season cliffhanger.

Btw, I think it was pretty nifty, the way the wrote Cordy's storyline, so that Charisma Carpenter could have her baby in peace.

Oh boy I do love my TV When you're stationed overseas (my hubby is Army) and only get a small selection of shows (and usually a season behind), though, you feel a bit out of the loop on these thresds.

My faves are:

All time:
Cosby Show - quite possibly THE.BEST.SHOW.EVER
Sesame Street - now I know I cannot be the only adult Sesame Street fan here?!?!
Golden Girls - I KNOW there are other GG fans here because I recall a discussion of which girl was our favorite some time back
In the Heat of the Night
Matlock (don't laugh)
Murder, She Wrote (again, don't laugh)
Law & Order - I know it's not that old, but it's one of my all-time favorite shows

Current:
CSI - we don't get Miami, TG, because I can't stand David Caruso)
24 - we haven't even gotten to season 2 yet, here UGH)
Iron Chef - love it, love it, love it! I'm so thankful that the military network has deemed it worthy of our viewing - dh and I were bummed when we thought we would not get to see it here. YAY for us!
Pardon the Interruption - BEST.SPORTS.SHOW.EVER
Alias
7th Heaven - nice family show
Little Bill/Dora the Explorer - very cute, multicultural kids shows. Love 'em both!
Survivor - though I must concur, it has lost its spark and I am really only watching out of habit and because I'm "supposed to" as a Survivor fan)

Shows that I never miss:

The Mole (Please, please bring it back)
Survivor (although, like Fester, it is just a habit and I do want to keep up with what's happening)
CSI ( the original, although this past week was below parr IMO)
Gilmore Girls (*waves at Katem)

Shows that I enjoy sometimes:
Friends (liked it better during the first 2 seasons)
Seinfeld
Will & Grace
Dharma & Greg - I don't know why they cancelled it.

Old reruns:
All in the Family - I just watched the one about a draft dodger who stayed for Christmas dinner. Some fine acting from Carroll O'Connor in that one.
Good Times
Living Single
The Adventures of Superman with George Reeves - thank you, TVland!

Best show of all time, hands down is SportsNight. ABC really dropped the ball on this one. Funny, witty, but with enough drama and chickishness to even out the guystuff. Mrs. Malfoy bought me the box set of both seasons for Christmas, and we've watched both seasons several times since.

Other all-time greats:
Night Court
Quantum Leap
MASH
Simpsons early seasons
Cheers
Kids in the Hall
Are You Being Served? (English sitcom)
Weakest Link. Too bad America couldn't handle the pure venom coming from Anne Robinson and they replaced her with that wonk from Extreme Gong
Seinfeld recently made my list, after never really watching it when it was on in first run tv.

Current faves:
South Park (underneath the d!ck and fart jokes, it's the smartest show on TV today.)
Will and Grace (although since Harry Connick Jr joined the show, it's really faded)
Survivor
Dirty Rotten Cheater (little known game show on PAX, very underrated)
WWE Raw and Smackdown
Crank Yankers
Frasier

Am I the only person who's never gotten Friends? I think I missed the boat on this one.

I guess I missed this thread the other day.
I have too many to list.

I have to agree that Quantum Leap was a great show. Moonlighting too.

I also have to add Thirtysomething, and Party of Five to shows I miss.

I love reruns of I Love Lucy, and All in the Family. Seinfeld is great, but has lost it's freshness for me. I love to watch reruns of old SNL's ( doesn't matter what season)

Current is hard, so many

Survivor
24
South Park
Sopranos
CSI
Law and Order
Dead Zone
VH1 behind the music

Hey has anyone seen Monster Garage on Discovery? Hubby turns these on sometimes, and I find them strangely fascinating. Oh and my daughter loves Junkyard Wars, used to beg to stay up late to see them with Daddy.

Can't believe I forgot about Lucy! That show has a bit of greatness as well. Comedy Central has burned me out on SNL. It seems like that's their default programming when they need to fill an hour. It's like F/X and MASH.
