"Summer 2005 reality TV show episode summaries"

Hi folks, as we've started doing at the beginning of each new reality TV season (fall, winter, summer), I'm posting this message to find out if there is any interest in writing summaries for any of this summer's quickly approaching summer reality shows, and if so, what is the extent of that interest.

(By "extent of interest" I mean how many episodes are you interested in writing? One episode only? Tag-teaming with someone else and doing the whole run? Taking on every episode of a whole show by yourself??)

Below is a listing of every upcoming show of which I'm aware, its premiere date, and broadcast network. Given that we've summarized it for several years now, I'm assuming that Big Brother 6 is a given and will therefore be posting a separate signup thread for that show. I'm also thinking that there will probably be interest in at least The Real World: Austin, Average Joe 4, Rock Star, and The Biggest Loser 2, but that's what this posting is for.

iwannabearealitystar is joining with me in summarizing The Scholar. But there's still room for a three-way tag-team with Zipperhead (see below). Considering there'll only be six episodes, that would work well.

It's time I end my summary virginity. I can do at least one episode of Battle of the Network Reality Stars. I certainly don't want the whole series, but if someone wants to tag-team the whole series, I could do that. I could also do the opening of the "Real World" (or any other episode).

I also want to do a Big Brother summary or two, but I'm guessing we'll just wait and sign up for that one on the BB boards? And is there a "previous summary" requirement for Big Brother?

Hello!

I'd like to do a summary for Average Joe 4. I would be willing to do more than one if necessary, though not all.

We have several of the Joes over on the AJ forum and two of them have posted that the air date has moved up a week to the 21st of June.

I am interested in Hell's Kitchen (loads of bashing here folks!) and if there isn't much interest I would be willing to tag team with someone on it. Also, Queer Eye, The Real Gilligan's Island, Wife Swap, Real World and Big Brother. I don't how many episodes of battle of the network reality stars there is by I would be interested in that.

Webby, one thing I would like to suggest is that if MTV does another Inferno or Battle of the Sexes...please include those in the summaries if you don't mind. Over on the forum there have been some interests and sometimes there is more drama on those shows than Real World.

ETA: I am interested in The Princes of Malibu too! I didn't see it on the list at first.

I will if you drop me a note when you hear something about them -- because MTV generally does a poor job with PR announcements (apparently they presume everyone watches their network and sees their on-air promos -- which I don't much anymore.)

I definitely want to do an Average Joe or two. I could tag team with Seana, but would prefer just one or two episodes. Also, I'd like to do Biggest Loser - at most, every other episode.

I'd be interested in either of the two dance themed shows: Dancing With The Stars (ABC) and/or So You Think You Can Dance (Fox). I could definitely do the whole So You Think You Can Dance series alone and might be able to tackle the Dancing With The Stars shows alone as well. I won't commit to anything at the moment (dh is deploying in July/August and I don't exactly want to spend too much of his leave time writing summaries ), but I'm definitely interested if there's any interest at all in either of these two shows from others at RTVW.

DUH! How stupid of me. For some reason I forgot that tomorrow is June 1 - May sure has flown by!

Sure, that sounds like a plan! Since it's only 6 shows, I could probably do all of them...I tend to have a problem with being a perfectionist when it comes to writing, so my two summaries to date have taken entirely too long (hence my worries about committing myself to an entire series).

But I will definitely start off with summarizing the premiere episode.

Maybe I'm too late for this, but I can take a whack at "Scholar" (if anyone is watching it, that is).

I would lvoe to do a "Hilton" episode because it is obviously ripe for plunder - if it lasts longer than "The Will".

That's alright, I taped it and haven't watched it myself, so I'll watch it tonight and do a summary, and post it tomorrow sometime.

Sorry I didn't get back to this until now. So far it's looking like there is pretty strong interest in:

- Average Joe 4 (schedule TBD)
- Battle Of The Network Stars (schedule TBD)
- Dancing with The Stars (PhoenixMons, are you doing all?)
- Hell's Kitchen (volsfan/Silvergirl1 tag-team)
- Hidden Howie woeisme1 (woeisme1, all if needed)
- Hit Me Baby One More time (Flairmarq, all three)
- The Real Gilligan's Island 2 (schedule TBD)
- The Real World: Austin (self-coordinated 2+ person tag-team)

For the rest of the shows, unless we get more volunteers, it doesn't look like we'll have an officially coordinated summary schedule, but as always, folks are always welcome to write and submit a summary.

I know its short notice, but given that Gilligan 2 premieres tonight, volsfan, survivorscott, Estee, or ScubaSteve, please let me know if you can do tonight's show. I'll also try PM'ing you. Thanks.

I can do it, but my TV listings have it as two hours. It looks like they're going to do the same thing they did last season: put the first two episodes back-to-back. I can take both if needed, but it would knock two slots off the schedule.
