Jennifer is still hoping Ivana doesn't come back. But she comes back with Kevin. They find out Raj is gone.

Chris is announcing to everyone in the apartment that Trump made him Team Leader for this time. None of his team seem to have much confidence in him.

Andy and Kelly are fighting over who gets to be their Team Leader. So the women draw names and Kelly wins.

OK they go to Tavern on the Green. Trump blabs about weddings. Tells them to each set up bridal shops and see who sells the most. Sandy has big advantage since that is what she does. Kelly is feeling confident she will get them the win.

Meanwhile Ivana is doing what she does best. She is complaining about Chris and blaming him for this that and whatever.

If I watched this correctly, all they had to do was set up a wedding dress shop and sell wedding dresses at (approx) up to 75% off?

Even for the winning team, it seemed to excruciatingly difficult to them than it needed to be.

Sandy had a big advantage, but she panicked, what was that all about?

Regarding Ivana and Jen, they seem prone to complain about what others aren't telling them to give them a leg up - rather than identifying the hot spots themselves.

The tasks this week are bridal sales. Kelly is PM for Mosaic and Chris is the PM for Apex. Sandy is really the delegated PM for Mosaic since she has related experience.

the task is to set up a bridal salon. they have one day. the winner is determined by sales in a 4 hour expo-type event.

this is possibly the most unfair task in the history of The Apprentice.

If anyone can think of a way for Chris to manage this win other than setting the other shop on fire, speak up. I'm out of options that don't include violent crime.

Wes is worried that if anything goes wrong on their team that Kelly will point the blame at him and Maria. They are left behind while Kelly runs out with Sandy the pro. That would be fine with me if it gets Maria booted.

"Wes' driving..."
Posted by Loree on 11-11-04 at 09:18 PM
Wes is driving the truck down the alley and hitting things. Kelly is not too sure about riding with him. They have the dresses in the back of the truck and everything fell over in the truck.

Meanwhile Maria sent out all their notices for the sale and didn't put their phone number on it. She says she did and someone else took the number off. Kelly is planning to blame her if they lose.

"RE: Wes' driving..."
Posted by Estee on 11-11-04 at 09:20 PM
Oh. Right. Someone else took the number off. It's the old maximum character law of mass Emails. Not Maria's fault at all.

Meanwhile, Sandy is practicing anti-hubris.

"Caution, the m word and the e words are being used"

Unless Maria can produce proof that the phone number was on the flyer at the time she approved it - she should be held responsible. Maria didn't think that through when she clairvoyantly lied about her mistake prior to making it. Psychic network is buzzing tonight.

They didn't build up very well how that accident happened, yet they blew it out of context in the trailer. I think editing has Alzheimer's of the digits.

I would have to say that they are thinking with their hands, because editing is like one big masturbation scene.

Chris' team is definitely contributing to the litter in NYC. All those bright pink flyers all over the ground.

(sigh) Migawd. Flyers? Do you know how many flyers you can collect in one day of walking through Manhattan? Several hundred. It's instinct to throw them away. No one's hands are that big.

"The boardroom"
Posted by Loree on 11-11-04 at 09:40 PM
With only 4 left on this team they could all just stay in the boardroom.

Kevin is scared Trump will fire all of them for being beaten so badly.

Chris is letting Jennifer go back up to the room. Before she leaves Trump asks her who should be fired. She says Chris. So Chris, Kevin and Ivana are on the hot seat.

Chris deserves to be gone.

"RE: The boardroom"
Posted by seahorse on 11-11-04 at 09:48 PM
This was the easiest call ever in my opinion.

Chris wanted to show his ability last week and when he got the chsance as PM he failed miserably.

"RE: The boardroom"
Posted by Loree on 11-11-04 at 09:47 PM
Well fire either Chris or Ivana and I will be happy. Kevin doesn't deserve to be fired this week.

Donald and his puppets say they have no fire.

Chris reminding Trump that Ivana has been in the boardroom 5 times. Trump says she gives out backhanded remarks.

Trump is upset Chris let Jennifer go back up to the room because he may have fired her. So he fires Chris. Will we ever get rid of Ivana?

"RE: Episode 10 Discussion"
Posted by 63_Stingray on 11-11-04 at 09:43 PM
I think Ivana will go. Trump will lay the blame for lack of marketing on her. Just because Chris failed to delegate does not relieve the team memebers form making a contribution. Rememeber the Rob clause. Just because you were not directed to do something does not mean you are free of any responsibility for the success of the task. Ivana is using the "I was under utilized defense".

"RE: Episode 10 Discussion"
Posted by anotherkim on 11-11-04 at 09:49 PM

chris is fired. trump slams him for not bringing jen in. his excuse for letting her off the hook was weak. trump says she is flying under the radar and he might have fired her.

WHEN are they going to learn? BRING THREE IN!

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

"RE: Episode 10 Discussion"

The way Trump, Carolyn, and George were talking about how no one had any fire, I thought Trump was going to fire all 3 and just make a clean sweep of it. I'm glad Kevin is still there.

In the past, there was logic for not bringing three in. This week though? Chris was idiotic for not bringing everyone into the boardroom. When you get killed that bad and there wasn't a sign (from what I could tell, I just got back from the airport to see the board room) one person excelling in being good, you take the Law of Averages into effect. Jennifer may have been fired, who knows?

I don't think he really would have fired Jen - if it weren't for her they wouldn't even have had a dress to sell. Chris was doomed from the moment he opened his mouth last week. Had he just gone upstairs and kept his mouth shut, he may not have been PM and I would guess Ivana would finally have gotten the hook.

Reshuffle time! Heck, it looked like he was gonna dump all three of them there for a minute? That won't happen because of the number of shows yet to air. No suspense there?

They tape all the exit scenes before the show airs, so no one can see x person leaving into a cab like the show and splurge. I am not sure if that is the reason, but I know they do tape exit scenes for everyone.

I mean to tape all the exit scenes before the show airs would be a huge hanging liability. Wouldn't he want to make sure to have it on tape that his guest made it out alive, in the proper time and order, and off his premises without any job-related trauma in order to reduce his liability, and make sure to keep intact the wellbeing of his guests to the best of his ability?

Any self-respecting host would at least try.

Previews for next week is for the Jeans task. Ivana calls Jen M. a fembot. They show Jen M. modeling with her hair all done up, and Ivana and Jen M. in a cowboy hat modeling, and Kevin taking his shirt off (I assume to model). Billy Joel guest stars. And they promise a Board Room where it's not over when it's over.

...do we boot two next week so that we can have the 6 mentioned in the teaser for Episode #12? Inquiring minds want to know.

And do we have any clues who the usurper on Mosaic is? Or the idea thief on Apex?

THE APPRENTICE
Episode #11 - THE BUTT STOPS HERE
11-18-2004 9:00PM
"The Butt Stops Here" -- The teams compete to be the right fit when Donald Trump assigns them the task of creating an in-store catalogue for Levis jeans. It's all about the butt for Apex as one member tries to hijack an innovative design idea, while a member of Mosaic takes control of the project -- much to everyone's dismay.

Also in the previews it shows Maria yelling at Wes to "Back Off!", so based on this Maria's probably the usurper (with her Home Ec. degree and her self-proclaimed knowledge of marketing she probably just takes over). It also shows Kelly saying "cha chaa" to Jen M. when she finishes modeling. From this can we conclude that Apex picks Kelly to join their team? If so, we've got the 3 strongest candidates on Apex with Kevin, Jen M., and Kelly.

I don't know - it seems odd to pick someone for your team who is exempt. It guarantees that the boardroom (if they lose) would be Jen, Ivana and Kevin.

Other notes on the episode:

I want Ivana to pick some lottery numbers for me - how lucky can she get? If Chris hadn't opened his mouth last week, it almost certainly would have been Ivana because DT would have fired the worst of a bad bunch. Second time she is saved by the big mouth of another contestant. And its clear Trump dislikes her, I'm amazed she's still around.

Wes is such a smoothie, no real leadership or brains for business but he could sell pink tutus to biker gangs. "Who likes arms?" and "you look like a princess".

Next week looks interesting - I wonder if what they are suggesting is after one is fired somebody else in the room opens their mouth stupidly and causes Trump to recall the eliminated contestant back to fire the big mouth.

It makes perfect sense to pick Kelly to join Apex, as he's a very strong player.

Even if Chris didn't open his mouth during the previous week, DT will very likely still fire Raj over Ivana (especially when Carolyn was backing Ivana up).

"It makes perfect sense to pick Kelly to join Apex, as he's a very strong player."

But see, that's the point. You don't want someone *too* strong on your team, because if your team loses Trump might look at him/her more favorably than you when it comes to fire someone.

"RE: Previews"
Posted by Pepito on 11-11-04 at 11:12 PM
I agree, I don't think Jen M. would approve having Kelly come over to her team.

But then, perhaps it's not Apex's choice. Let's say Andy gets picked for PM on Mosaic, then is informed that he can send any player over to Apex to even out the teams. Who do YOU all think that Andy would gladly send off? That's gotta be it..... ;)

Pamela was probably the strongest women player (a lot of people may disagree, but based on the past few episode, I thought Pamela is stronger than Jenn M), but she was the one who got fired when she couldn't lead Team Apex to victory.

Exactly. You have a better chance of survival if you pick a strong player and continue to win, than you do if you pick a weak player to use as a scapegoat if you lose. If you think that way, you've bought yourself 1 week at best, and you show Trump that you're a loser. If you play to win, you're not at risk and are viewed as a winner. Business people are trained to look at the big picture, not just the next step.

I think you misunderstood - I said if Chris hadn't set himself up last week, Ivana would have been the one fired TONIGHT not Chris.

And yes, Kelly is a strong player but can't be fired for the next task. I think you'd be better off picking someone who is not exempt. I expect that the truth is it will be Trump himself who sends Kelly over to Apex.

Fembot... too funny. Ivana is just jealous because Jen has boobs.

"Chris' lack of Education"

Chris' lack of education was on flagrant display here. His personal lack of interest in the bridal business just threw him into a tailspin.

Anyone who has sat through a few business or financial or marketing or managerial courses, with all those 'Company XYZ' and 'widgets' scenarios has learned to glean the business strategies that later be plugged into a given situation and then tweaked as needed for that particular project. It seemed that Chris just didn't even know how to get started.

Wow. He didn't even try. His team carried him on their backs to the two sales that they DID make. His attitude got him the boot.

How did Chris get selected to begin with?

Again I state that qualified candidates would never participate in this show to begin with because they are too bright to risk destroyong their reputations by exposure on this program.

This group would not have qualified as middle management in my former company no less on the executive level.

I think you give the other team members too much credit - they all stunk on this task. As I watched, I kept wondering how they were planning on advertising the sale and then they show them handing out flyers, the worst form of advertising possible. Didn't any of them realize how hopeless that was? What were the odds that the person they handing it to would even read it much less be in the market for a wedding dress? Didn't any of them think to ask the woman from the bridal store who visited their shop how they might best advertise the sale?

Maria did not include the phone number on the e-mail on purpose, I'm glad Sandy caught her red-handed quickly and Kelly somehow doesn't seem to care. Sandy was also right when the team were not working hard and again Kelly was just not caring to be an effective PM. They won because of Sandy. Kelly wasn't a factor. Wes also purposely crash into the truck. Maria and Wes and maybe Kelly were OBVIOUSLY trying to make Sandy lose tonight. I don't see why Donald would want to hire these traitors. George and Carolyn better tell Donald on whats really happening.

I guess they have to learn how to keep the fight up when they lose their fire. You never know what might develop.

Put your hands up and slowly back away from the crack pipe. There's no conspiracy here. If Mosaic had lost last night, Maria was going home, no doubt about it. She has made too many mistakes to survive (Trump Ice Cream, Crest, QVC, NYPD {nearly}) and something like forgetting to put a contact number on an e-mail? That would've been the final nail. Maria just FLAT. OUT. SUCKS. If her intention was to sabotage Sandy (who wasn't even the PM by the way), then she is dumber than she looks. Second, I highly doubt that Wes ran into that parked truck on purpose. It looks like he was pulling out of a parking spot and just clipped the back of it. Which can happen if you're not used to driving a big vehicle. Just chalk this one up as a little carelessness. Finally, Kelly seemed concerned about Maria's goof to me. But they were under a deadline and yelling about it wasn't going to solve anything. Maria screwed up, she lied about it, and everyone knew it. And everyone knew that if they lost, Maria was going to take the fall and rightly so.

The Evolution Continues...
