"Showtime has ruined BB"

Putting this rant in spoilers because live feed antics will no doubt crop up.

I don't have this "Showtime." The HG's know about it, because it's all they talk about when Showtime is not "on."

"Do you think they'll show that on Showtime?" "What will they show?" "Will they blur stuff out?"

When Showtime is turned on, so are the hampsters. They jostle to be the centre of attention and you can see them glancing at the cameras while they talk.

Even last night, during the, um, party, a mostly-naked Chelsea was giving lap dances to all the guys while yelling out "Happy Birthday, Daddy!"

That whole thing was put on for the "benefit" of Showtime. So was the Matt and Nat fight the night before.

Starting at midnight, the decibal level in the house goes up, and rises with each passing minute as the idiots all try to one-up each other to make sure the cameras are on them.

Nobody even talks about the "internet" anymore. Remember when Shan-man used to call us all big fat ugly losers? Now, it's just "OMG I can't believe I just said that on TV!" and "OMG I wonder if so-and-so is watching this on TV right now!" "Do you think that made it on TV??"

So much for this show being populated with DAWs who are hoping to land on TV after this. They have been replaced by a more sinister group of uberDAWs who are on TV right now and they know it!

The GAME has become secondary to all of this for everyone with the exception of Allison and Ryan. 2 out of 12 people. That's a pathetic gamer:DAW ratio.

I say pull the plug on Showtime.

Perpetual *headbutt* compliments of Rolly.

Wow, that is a scary thought! Too funny that they realize "then" that they are on TV (when Showtime is on) seeing as they are 'on' TV 24 hours a day via live feeds!

I think psychologically there is a difference for them when it is Showtime vs the Internet.

I wonder what the actual viewer ship numbers are, but I remember last year they did plan some of the fun stuff for the time they are on Showtime (wben they get booze for a party, etc).

Somehow I think the being watches is more real for them when it is on cable vs "just" the internet. I do think they attracted people who are more into being DAW's than playing the game. I don't think people mind a little eye candy, but what a lot of the traditional viewers were watching the feeds for was the game play with a bit of OMH I can't believe they did that.

Some how I think they feel they need to out Real World the Real Worlders because they are on cable and the worst of their behavior will be seen more than they are really about how to win the money.

It is sad. There is enough drama when you cast for people that care about the game. When they only cast for drama I think the show loses a lot.

I'm assuming that the answers to your questions are: Yes, Everything, and I Don't Know; You Tell Me.

Isn't this kind of like saying 'You got my landfill all dirty!'?

More like who decided to spray my landfill with illegal toxic waste.
