"Big Brother #8 Episode #31 East Coast Spoiler Thread"

Posted by Estee on 09-13-07 at 04:27 PM
LAST EDITED ON 09-13-07 AT 04:49 PM (EST)

Please keep all discussion of the last-minute annointing of Zach as the last hope for the Forces Of Good, or at least the Forces Of Slightly Less Annoying, on this thread until midnight EDT, when the West Coast will get to see what this is: the silliest first-draft attempt to twist up the plot since 'Everyone else is dead. Boromir, take the ring.' Unfortunately, this is reality television, which means there's no such thing as a second draft. And worse, it's Big Brother, which also means there's no such thing as a plot. But there is such a thing as a final HoH, and we should know who that is by the end of the hour. Unless something happens to drastically throw off the schedule. Like, say, the Chenbot attempting to host a live show.

It's Big Brother. Some things are utterly predictable.

So -- will it be Daniele and the 'Making a Final Two decision is so haaaaaard!' whine? Will it be Dick and sending the entire network to the Blue Swirlie Of Doom for twenty minutes? Zach proving that an ogre can get the girl, get the kingdom, and talk like the donkey if you just give him some extra screen time to do the work? A complete lack of sigpics on the thread providing extra space for people to vomit in? Or any two out of four? See what happens tonight (or nearly so) on Last -- Donato -- Standing!

Oh, is this ever going to svck.

On the other hand, to paraphrase Fishercat, having Dick vs. Danielle turns some of the votes into the worst 'who do I hate less?' decision in jury history. (Seriously: this could make Connie choosing between Alex & Gardener after a theoretical Gardener knife-planting into sweetness, light, and butterflies fluttering around the ballot area. And yes, I'm perfectly aware that no one on this thread has any idea what I'm talking about.) Some of those keys would have to be forced into the Lazy Susan Of Destiny at gunpoint, and the Bitter Factor during the jury statements would be at an all-time show high. For that if nothing else, an all-Donato final would be memorable.

That, and the first ever six-million-person simul-vomit.

That theoretical decision for Connie wouldn't have been as bad as Angela's: the one who bounced her out vs. the one who gave him the bouncing idol...........

The votes were locked in either way, though: they just would have hated themselves for making them.

Which brings us back to Dick vs. Daniele: who's the less objectionable Donato? Because if anyone believes this entire jury is going to vote based on gameplay --

-- but that question is still one HoH away.

And if it is Zach, will Dick try to quit so his completely ungrateful daughter will get the final 2 spot (thereby saving himself years of whining about how unfair he was to not step aside for her but leaving us with a week of whining about why Zach didn't do the same).

I think we have a good chance of seeing Dick DOR -- if he honestly feels Zach has a better chance to beat him in front of the jury. While reality contestants generally can't give their prizes to each other, the rules may be harder to enforce on family members: convince Dick he can win and just give the money to Daniele, and he might stay in this. But if he really thinks Daniele has the best shot with him gone, he just might walk out the door.

I don't know if he'd risk getting himself thrown off, though -- disqualified from the game might mean removed from the jury, and that's one less vote for Daniele.

it's at 8 EST, right? I'll puke and suicide if one of the Evil Duo wins. Well, maybe not, it's just a lame show.

Mattben, no reason for suicidal tendencies, ok?? Now, I'll be hitting the old wine bottle pretty heavily (I'm fixing to RIGHT NOW) but if the 6 million simult-vomit(Estee, I LOVE that saying, BTW) is TONIGHT, there's always the Pepto. Or Pepcid. Or Tums.

Just no croaking oneself off over those DUMB Donatos!!

And now.... DAVE! Pass me the wine!

Coincidentally, I use it before every episode of this crap. Makes it a lot easier to digest.

That -- is Desperation Edit music. They are going to make Dick look good if it kills someone else.

But at the same time... he just got what he went into the house for in the first place. He stood out in the freezing rain for nearly eight hours and earned one thing. He got to hear his daughter say she loved him.

That may sink in. Eventually.

I still wouldn't bet on the state of Daniele's love being permanent, though.

Zach and Dick matched each other on every answer but the first -- which Dick got right. No way to pull ahead, no way to fall behind -- and the final eviction is about to be a fait accompli.

"RE: All that remains"

The final insult will be to give the $500K to ED - not Danielle. Oh the irony. Ugh, who cares anymore.

"RE: All that remains"
Posted by Estee on 09-13-07 at 08:31 PM
I think we can set the over-under on bitter speeches at four. You might want to consider taking the over.

This has the potential to be a very ugly jury. I think Daniele's ultimately going to win this -- but they're going to make the Donatos suffer for it.

"RE: All that remains"
Posted by Snidget on 09-13-07 at 08:34 PM
This jury could set a new record for bitterness.

Although I'm almost hoping for the bitter speeches to be followed up with a pick a number question from every jury member.

I might be tempted to give the money to Dick just to see if Danielle could spontaneous combust from not being able to get all her whining out fast enough.

"The jury"
Posted by cahaya on 09-13-07 at 08:39 PM
... might have been Zach's only hope, with him up against one Donato. In retrospect... As invisible as he was early in the season, and uncommitted until late in the game, he did manage to get it all the way to within one question on the final competition. He had made it to the final two, then I would guess that he would have won, especially with ED. Against anyone else (like Jameka or Eric), he would have lost the jury vote.

Maybe not the smartest game, but he got there.

This just in, CBS cancels final show because who cares...Believe it or not there are a bunch of Donato fans on the CBS message board and they are cheering wildly...

everybody knows Zach screwed up a week ago by not exercising the POV and putting Dani up. Worst move of all BB time...

now the man and daughter love connection can do it's thing and CBS can wait for the fallout of a terrible season.

Speeches:

Zach: Gracious loser.

Daniele: Mine, mine, all mine!

Dick votes to evict Zach. No one is remotely surprised.

Dick contributes to the reality dance pantheon with the 2007 Destructo. Everyone is even less surprised.

Its a shame that the final comp on this show is one that is basically a guessing game in which no skills whatsoever (mentally or physically) needed to be used. There was nothing these 2 could have done in the house for 3 months to prepare them better for this competition.

"RE: The vote."
Posted by Estee on 09-13-07 at 08:46 PM
*sigh* Not unless it was something that person had discussed in the house -- and it's not even the first time they've pulled this dumb trick. Better to quiz on household furnishings, for the very little that's worth.

If you really think about it, the casual 3 hour a week viewer had as much chance to win that competition as ED/Zach had. In fact - someone who had never watched the show once had about the same chance as those 2. Great job BB.

Like casually watching someone else roll the dice on a craps table, it was rather a anti-climatic ending. Some real kind of one-on-one competition, especially here, would have been worthy of watching.

Competition is the key word - there was none. Heck, they may as well have just flipped a coin 6 times and had them both call it each time.

The current version of Chenbot software reboots whenever she has to host a real competition. Alison Grodner can't take the risk of humiliating the head honcho's conjugal robot.

So who is going to win? Who is the jury going to vote for? It's tough for me some might say that Danielle rode ED's coattails I mean he is the one that had to go around and make all the enemies.. who knows.

I think Danielle is going to win personally.

My guess is ED wins. The jury would love to end up with one of them being very angry. If Dani wins ED will not be very angry...BUT - if ED wins I think they all realize that will be one angry little girl.

I thought at least one of them was toast earlier in the season, sometimes hinging on a critical POV. Even then, the non-Donato got evicted. The hamsters can only blame themselves for this outcome, bitter about it or not.

Yup, ED pulled it off, even if it did come down to a 50/50 shot on the final (non-)competition. ED was both shrewd and intimidating, as well as a bit lucky.

Dick said they were the best pair to ever play the game.

Dick, this is Chip. You two actually have something in common. He ran around the world carrying supplies in his wife-shaped backpack. You carried around a daughter-shaped autowhine megaphone for nearly eighty days. Now shake hands and come out cursing.

Not you, Chip.

The show is going downhill so fast its appalling. The game itself is pretty clean and well thought out and should be working very very well. But they cannot help to keep casting young goofy kids who are not even fans of the show often. The drive to just make sure they get hookups and small bikinis is killing the show off.
I will not be surprised if they dont renew this mess.
They need to start casting intelligent schemers regardless of wether they are cute or musclebound. Perhaps having actors agents in your rolodex is hurting the damn show Grodner.
And then to have possibly the two most rancid people ever win the show will kill off whatever gas we had left in the tank after Boogie ran us into a ditch.
Up the money to a million and go and get some serious players.
The only part I will watch is the jury interogating the Donatos..and then off goes the set cause watching those two clowns celebrate is too much for me.
Glad Survivor and Lost are coming back.

I just voted 10 times on the SeeBS website for ED. Yep, there it is... Call it AGE-ISM, I hate Daniele-ism, whatever you want, the little WHInEY TWIT can NOT win this thing!

OK, and I've taken a Pepcid Complete, and had a few glasses of wine.

Question: Will ANY of us CARE about the "Greatest Hits" episode on Sunday? Naaa..

Will any of us WATCH on Tuesday? The summer is over, Peeps. Let's get ready for Survivor:China is my recommendation.

I am sure I am alone in my thinking but D!ck played one heck of a game. He had a huge target on his back the entire time. First coming in as part of the twist, then his antics, then later being the only remaing twosome left. You have to hand it to him, it may not have been pretty, but he came to play. If I was on the jury, my vote would have gone to him no matter who he was up against.

On a side note, someone on another board reported that Zach may have told Dani that he has something to tell her about his life outside when they get out. I wonder if he is not the owner of the company he works for and really doesn't need the money? Any ideas about the whole thing?

Yes, yes, yes!! I am very happy about the outcome. I don't care who wins. I'm just glad it's one of them. I haven't gotten to watch the episode yet but couldn't go to bed without seeing who was in the F2. It seems like most people on here hate Dani and ED. On other boards they seem to have a lot of support. I don't get it. Zach sure didn't deserve it... Too much like Howie.

While I can't say I Love the Donatos, I've been rooting for them too. They could have let themselves stay estranged, and lost it all. Instead, they put their differences aside (temporarily only, I bet), and stuck together to win it all.

All the other players had plenty of warning that they would be a pair to beat, and never got it together to evict either won.

I say ""well" played to Evel D. and whiny Daniele.

worst final two? NO EFFIN WAY!!!!!!!!!! These are the BEST final two! It's a real accomplishment when two people were as hated as D and D and THEY MADE IT TO THE FINALS! THAT is gameplay. However vile ##### was, THEY DIDN'T VOTE HIM OUT! That's not his fault that's every person on the jurys fault, (except Eric cause we told him what to do)

I can't believe that people still hate D.I.C.K. The emotion that he showed during and after the first round was amazing. It's very clear that he loves his daughter and will sacrifice himself for her and is only thinking about her.

Good Grief, Dani and D.I.C.K DESERVE TO BE the final two! They earned it!

Did you also see the total garbage that he was spewing for hours? The emotion he showed was that he was upset cause he knew he was not going to last. And the music they played on the show, OMG like he is some sort of hero or something? I wanted to vomit. The editing they do, especially in this case, was totally absurd, and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Yes, I saw the total garbage that he was spewing for hours and LMAO at it! That's D.I.C.K! That's how HE is playing and if the others didn't like it THEY SHOULD HAVE VOTED HIM OUT! He was NOT upset that he wasn't going to last he was upset because he thought he let his daughter down. The ONLY thing on his mind was his daughter. The emotion AFTER the first round was real. Any idiot could see that. Yes, he's full of himself, he's 'in your face' brutally honest about crap, he's cruel when he thinks it will get him further.

If anyone has to be pissed about anything, then be pissed at the jury for not getting them out earlier!
They made it to the end and deserve it!

If you were watching the show, you saw the real D!ck during that comp. If you looked beyond the words (which I don't feel is how he truly is ) and looked into his eyes, that is who he is. This "person" he is portraying on the show is not (who I believe) he is in real life. I think we saw a glimpse at the real person he is in yesterday's show. He was trying to win for his family, you saw that he wasn't mouthing off until his daughter told him to distract Zach. He was concerned when Dani started to shake uncontrollably and he couldn't help her. He wanted to win for them and not let her down. His eyes were pleading with Dani to tell him it was ok to stop even though he knew it would be harder for them to advance. He was upset with himself for not being able to do it. I was concentrating more on watching his face than what he was saying or whatever music they played. I personally like them both but of the 2 I would like D!ck to win. I feel he played the better game and with doing the dirty work for Dani I don't think her game was superior in that aspect (although she did win a fair amount of comps). And contrary to something stated in an above post Jokers reported that she did supply them both with towels, hot tea and food (apparently it just wasn't shown on air).

I think you are so right. He looked like he was sincere in his demeanor last night. Other than when Danielle asked him to distract Zach, he was concentrating very hard. You could tell he was worried about Danielle and worried about winning for his family. The look on his face was very evident. It was not an act. I could tell during his DR visits that the D!ck we saw in the house was not the same D!ck that he was in real life. It was a game and he played the game beautifully. Kudos to both of them big time. I loved every minute of the show last night. Everyone I know was rooting for the Donato's. I would like to see D!ck win over Dani but it really does not matter. They are both winners in my book

Sincerely nuts, you mean.

Everyone I know was rooting for the Donatos.

Tell D!ck and Dani hello from us at the family reunion, because the only people rooting for the Donatos are their relatives.

Umm, my friend who I force to watch BB and I were totally rooting for the Donatos. As I mentioned elsewhere, last season was the first time I watched BB, and when it was Boogie and Ericka, I skipped the finale.

This season I am so totally super psyched! Yay Donatos!

Although I have to admit I still think D!ck should have gotten in some serious trouble, or evicted, after pouring that drink on Jen.

I agree. This is actually the first season that I have liked both people in the final two. No two could have deserved it more. It's a game and they played it the best. Whether people agree with their tactics or not is a moot point.

I think ED should probably win, but I really don't care as I will be very happy either way.

Not related and cheering for them. Might be the only one on the bus but it gives me more room to stretch out.

Agreed. Dani did as well in comps as Saint Janelle (may she get uglier by the day amen) while the old man stood in the rain for 7+ hours in no more than a wife beater shirt. Some serious competitors right there. And America's player didn't have anything to do with Dani winning her comps or Dick hanging tough when he had to. They earned this.

But you admit that without the America's Player gimmmick, D!ck is gone instead of Dustin, right?

Without America's Player, Dick wouldn't have been around long enough to win beans. I hope that gets pointed out to him and his whiney offspring at the finale.

Hey Donatos! *NEWSFLASH* You're not the best players to ever play this game. Not.Even.Close.

The feeds have returned.

They got Korbel Champagne and Sushi/Japanese food for the celebration feast.

They each figure the other's gonna be the winner: ED thinks Daniele will be the lesser of two Evil/Evels and Daniele thinks that ED will win because the jury hates her...........

I just don't get this. My opinion usually lines right up with the majority of the posters on the boards. I read them constantly. This year I'm in a whole different place. This season has had my friends and I talking more than any before. Plus...CBS.com has had ##### as the player with the highest likeability rating since the beginning of the show. Then Danielle slid in behind him. I really think the ratings will go up if anything. It just seems that people have gotten away from the fact that it's a game. Regardless of how big of a jerk ##### may have been...he and Danielle managed to play an amazing game together. She won comps and he did his best to just get into everyone's head...both of them managed to succeed. I think this year has been an absolute blast!

Oh I agree I think that this year has been the best with ED and his tangents on people I mean the verbal abuse was stunning and in my opinion highly enjoyable. I think it's been a great year. they have been a great team and considering that they have played continously won otherwise they would have been evicted a long time ago, and they had their chance to get rid of them both and didn't I think the winning vote will go to ##### as he played the mental game better.

LAST EDITED ON 09-14-07 AT 10:41 AM (EST)

For me there are ways to get into people's heads without being (IMO) verbally abusive.

I just can't enjoy watching someone saying the stuff Dick did on the feeds that are too graphic for the shows or really for this PG-13 forum.

I acknowledge that it did get results, but I don't really respect it as game play (there are ways to get same results without going so far over the line so much of the time)

I think he just enjoys shocking people like the 3 year old that repeats various dirty words at Christmas dinner just to watch the adult go nuts. I don't think he did that "just" as game play. He likes it too much, and IMO used it way more than was needed. Game play was the excuse to be that rude, rather than it being an act just for the sake of the game, YMMV. My opinion of this is colored by things he has said on the web prior to the game, not jsut the live feeds or the small part of what he said they could air on network TV..

It isn't all that he is, but it really got to the point it turned me against him for the most part. The bad just isn't made up for by the good, for me. And it astounds me that so many people find others saying they are going to #### @@@ ***** %%%%% ^^^ &&&& until they die is wildly entertaining. *shrug*

I'm thrilled D&D made it to the finals. The played the game the best. It seems to me people are forgetting this is a game! You play to win. It is based on being able to backstab and get in people's heads as well as mental and physical challanges. Daniele took care of the challenges and ##### took care of getting in the heads of the other players. Great duo! And don't forget, their alliance turned on them first! They should not be hated because the other idiots in the game were to stupid to get them out!!

My friend wanted Jameeka to make it to the final two! What??? She played the game the worst of all! Giving up chance to be HOH for five weeks! I respect her religious beliefs to the fullest. However, her church really should consider kicking her out! At least make her sit in the back row for 5 weeks!

And don't forget, their alliance turned on them first!

But they backstabbed Jessica and Eric first. Or doesn't that count?

"Timeline of backstabs"
Posted by vince3 on 09-14-07 at 12:07 PM
Week 5: D&D backstab the LNC alliance by putting up Eric and align with Kail, Jen and Zach.

Week 6: Eric, with Jessica, in line with the AmERICa's player vote to evict Dustin, backstab the remaining LNC and align with D&D so he doesn't have to worry about a 3rd rogue vote due to the AP twist, especially since the other two got him in the week 5 pickle.......

Week 9: (F6) D&D vote to evict Jessica, which backstabs Eric and the LJC alliance and then subsequentally evict Eric in the "week in an hour" episode immediately afterwards.......

IMO the whole premise of the BB game is to eventualy have to backstab someone. Everyone who goes on the show should know that. I seriously dont get why it is such a big deal who backstabbed whom first when you know BB is all about deception to the end. There is no other way.
There have always been alliances and lies--IMO D and D were actually a little more out in the open about their feelings than others. They are father and daughter--their alliance was understood by EVERYONE from the beginning. They should have had the BIGGEST target on them from day one--but no one managed to get them out.

I totally agree with a previous poster....99% of the time the majority of this board reflects my opinion--but not this year. And no, I have no blood relation to the Donatos but would pay good money for an invite to the reunion.

Wasn't there also a promise to Jen from Dani that turned into a backstab then meltdown?

LOl the backstabbing of alliances is expected what is not is the verbal abuse but once again he did it .. it worked for him and it's done it may count against him with the jury votes though plus the alliance between Eric and jessica that will maybe have a bad effect but since bot ED and Danielle had the allianc eyou can't really just be mad at one right?

They did earn their way into the final two, no doubt about it.
However, they did it by making deals with just about everyone in power and backstabbing those people when the power switched.

I didn't like ED's verbal abuse to anyone who didn't go his way, however. That wasn't necessary for him to get to the final two.

ED and Daniele's arrogance was also out of line towards the end.
