"Strange Show"

This is the strangest reality show I've seen to date! There doesn't seem to be any point to the actual game, unlike most other reality based shows. I think that's my biggest problem with it. In addition, the editing, while stylish, gives almost no insight into many of the players. Apparently all the men hate Andrea, and yet we have no idea why (personally I like what little I've seen of her). We're halfway through the show and have yet to see a compelling reason to root for the likely winners, Melissa and Darin. Their only strategy seems to be to stay as far from the cameras as possible. The Hot Seat sessions offer the only opportunity for any real tension, but they're ruined by those insipid dares from the (gag) Balls of Shame. The dares are downright embarrassing to watch - I haven't cringed that much since the last episode of Seinfeld. Finally, it amazes me that Michael, Melissa, Darin and Ralph seem to be the only ones who can keep it together long enough to win the money. The premise is so simple and yet they seem to be the only ones who realize they need to keep their mouths shut and get along with everyone for the two short weeks they're on the boat!

And yet, I like this show. Most of the people seem genuinely nice, and a few of them even seem to have a degree of self-awareness. And certainly they are easy on the eyes. The idea that people could hook up in any sort of meaningful way in such a short period of time is ludicrous, but I suppose it's at least more conceiveable than the premise of Temptation Island. I think the best part will come during the second half when the cameras move to Loser Island. After tonight's episode (#3) it's pretty clear a certain amount of action takes place there. We now know that's where Toni loses her eyeballs, which also tells us she gets eliminated (along with that phoney-baloney Anthony who is clearly visible behind her, and Michael, who appears to be standing next to Janette). Hopefully the castaways will follow in Toni's maniacal footsteps and we'll be treated to a savage, Lord of the Flies finish!

Go Andrea, you seem pretty and smart and tough!

You hit the nail right on the head! Justin My Butt must know that any hopes of a career he might have had, he can kiss good-bye after being seen asking those insipid questions on the "Hot Seat" segment. How much more cheesy and juvenile can a game show get?

That pack of dweebs discussing their inner most feelings makes me want to pull my fillings, one by one. Anything to kill the pain of having to endure another minute of this piece of crap.

Show us some REAL romance.........let's take a peek into the Captain's quarters while he is wooing Justin My Butt. That must be where the real Love Cruise takes place.

Damn! At least "The Mole" has real stunts. But standing up on a little raft in three feet of water? Typical cheap ased FUX production!
