"Big Brother #8 Episode #21 East Coast Spoiler Thread"

Please keep all sigpic-free discussion of what may come to be known as The Last Sane Episode on this thread until midnight EDT, at which point the West Coast will get to start worrying about just what that title might mean.

Tonight? Tonight is, at best, the setup. Tune in Thursday, and brace yourself for the most painful thing reality television has ever seen: the Chenbot having to explain any of this...

Don't ask. Just don't.

Wah Wah Wah, they don't want a "good" person to win.

Yep, being too well liked does make you a threat at the end, sorry.

1. Amber believes she's one of the good people.
2. Amber believes the others like her.

Dear God,

Amber has promised to stop crying.

I don't ask for much, but can you actually take some pity on us poor BB watchers and help her with that.

I know, I know, it is a reality TV show and you don't usually intervene, you don't have to make her detox hallucinations come true like a real vision or anything, just stop the water works.

Thanks
Snidget.

Was she actually crying (slightly) while she made that promise?

And if we stop Amber from getting the water works, does that just set her up for the electric company?

Admittedly, that might help her solve the mysteries of the double-e.

How many times do they have to tell her? No outside contact! Turn in the GodPhone, give up your Jesus Minutes, turn off the receiver on your VisionShots, and start playing by yourself!

Geez. Linda Weaver is gonna be so jealous.

speaking of which...

think the Weavers would support Jameka and Whaaaamber?

they're certainly hogging the God phone. And God pager.

And they keep IMing him, too.

poor guy.

"RE: As Amber breaks the rules again."
Posted by Estee on 08-21-07 at 09:06 PM
No, they wouldn't. Because there are only four real and true Christians in the world. This number does not include Jameka or Amber. In fact, among those blessed four, every last one of them has the last name of 'Weaver'.

Go figure.

Of course, according to Jameka and Amber... well, the 'true' number may be down to two.

"RE: As Amber breaks the rules again."
Posted by nazpink on 08-21-07 at 11:47 PM
Take note that for what seems like eternity Jameka and Amber have both stated that not only does God take an interest in the BB game but he also decides who wins. Everything happens for a reason...right? Well, apparently Amber is confused as to what she believes. During her hammock conversation with Jameka, Amber made the statement along the lines of, "if God is right I should win POV". I didn't know an "if" was possible. Can God truly be wrong? LOL......as much as this all may give credit to Amber (and it hurts to do so), I'm not buying this religion card she's playing no more than I'm buying all the crocodile tears. Notice how Amber had no tears searing that face when she huddled off into her corner after the POV competition.

Strategically, it is probably better to keep these two around for a short while...heck we all know Amber would shoot herself in the foot if she made it to F2 anyway, but having them gone would make this season far more tolerable.

And for Connie, it's three, right?

"RE: As Amber breaks the rules again."
Posted by Estee on 08-22-07 at 08:32 PM
Heh. Well, we never did get the exact population on that particular church... but Connie's regard of other branches generally started around 'At least you've got that much right.' Close, but a few more lessons required before the entire picture comes together. (You do get some credit for being within the frame, though.)

To me, what almost comes across as funny is that compared to Jameka & Amber, Connie was practically low-key when it came to her beliefs. Claim visions? Personal intervention? Not going to happen. She may have believed she was being tested, but she never said anything about having been 'chosen' to win -- or annointed -- or declared her deity was running things for her personal benefit. Put her in the house with them, and Connie probably would have looked at Jameka and Amber the same way she saw Joanna: hysterical fanatics who promoted every last negative stereotype regarding people of strong faith -- and if she couldn't get them to calm down, she might have tried to associate with them as little as possible.

So if you're keeping a list of Amber & Jameka's crimes, consider adding in 'Almost made Connie look reasonably balanced.'

Weird thought.

And thank you for making me really hate Jameka and Amber more than I did. It's a general 'principles' thing. Everyone hated Joanna.

You probably don't want to know.

Zach probably does want to know, but only so he can stop Eric from giving it to Jessica. Zach does not want Eric and Jessica to have any tender moments in the house. Why? No reason. No game-reason, anyway. It's just a jerk thing.

drawn to play in the Veto competition. Again. He hasn't played in a single one to date. We're starting to talk about some really low odds here, and this continuation of his streak had some extra pain attached to it: first and second place get a mystery trip outside the cage. Eric ain't goin'.

But he does get to host again, so at least we'll be spared some pain.

The players:

Daniele, who drew ED via Houseguest Choice
Amber, who drew Jessica
Jameka, who drew Zach

The Host: AmERICa's player

The crowd: The Jeneration

Hmmm.

Jameka notices that greed plays a role in the game.

Did they not tell you about the half a million dollar prize?

Why is it so shocking that people want money and prizes when they are on a reality TV show. I know some people just want their face plastered all over the TV and internet, but most people at least a widdle bitty bit want to win some money.

Why is she here?

First question: what percentage of those polled think Kail would make a good politician? Jessica believes Kail would make a rotten one because she's just no good at campaigning for herself.

So maybe this is where Janelle's Five Seconds Of Insight wound up.

Well, you know -- God and Amber are just like every other married couple. They have moments of miscommunication. You forget to call your partner, no one leaves a note on the counter, a false vision comes down unto thee... really, it happens all the time.

So who had 'one episode or less' on the no-more-crying vow?

Amber wonders why God didn't help her. She getting a trip. What more can you want?

Perhaps he is loking for a little more emotional Fortitude.

Daniele wins Veto. Amber wins the right to go on the trip with her. We still have no idea what this trip is. So there's still the faint hope for the Long Walk On A Short Pier Tour, but realistically, there's probably a dam in California that needs testing. (Amber floods it and Daniele tries to whine down the wall.)

Jameka to Amber: you just need a good cry, you know?

Yeah.

Amber needs a good cry.

Like I need someone to shoot me in the face at close range.

Jen will probably deal with the situation using her usual combination of dignity, decorum, and tact.

Stay tuned.

I'm curious to see how they'll handle this. Given feed events (don't ask, at least not here), they won't have time to show a full game show appearance if the winner of the face-off goes a few ronds in. They can't do it as a two-parter: game show, then reality show -- at least, not the way the schedule's currently set up. And we don't know the delay time on taping to appearance for P10.

Think American Idol.

5 minutes of show, 55 minutes of commercial.

They could probably pare it down without any problems.

They're heading to NYC to be contestants on Drew Carey's Power of 10!

They are actually still gonna have the America's Player after all the drama on the live feeds? *Oh boy!*

Amber and Daniele have won a trip to Manhattan, where they will appear on Power Of 10 as contestants.

Someone will have to explain the show to Amber. And teaching her numbers wouldn't hurt. Couldn't help either, but...

If Amber wins ten million dollars on blind guesses, the suicide rate in this country is about to take a wild spike.

How much you wanna bet they're gonna be on tomorrow night's show?

Possible if they asked the last player to sit on his game for a couple of weeks. 'We now rejoin you, very nearly live.'

Poor Drew. He's going to have to get the full BB briefing. And deal with Amber. Which one will be worse? We polled America...

Which part of the set will Drew damage himself with over having to deal with Wahmber?

"Actually..."
Posted by Estee on 08-21-07 at 09:54 PM
...they're taking a giant chance here. The no-contact rule could be shattered within seconds, with both contestants receiving a very fast, very loud alliance briefing from the studio audience. Either they clear the set or they find a way to enforce contracts on the entire group. Good luck.

And given that this show brings in a family member to consult, don't be surprised if we see Amber's daughter. Immediately followed by a flooded set.

I can't wait until they come back to the house after losing:

I didn't want to do well on the show - if I had won the $10 million, then I would have put my chance to win BB on the line since everyone would think I didn't need the money.

Why don't we ever see ED spitting on CBS but on the live feeds he literally spits every few seconds? Amazing job of editing. Speaking of his spitting, has anyone ever heard one person say a word to him? Are they so afraid of him or do they just enjoy their little toes sopping up his mucus every day?

I was just watching last night's after dark and saw that this guy just clearly in front of everyone spit in the pool while he was in it....I think it is safe to say that #1 he is one of the most disgusting human beings I have ever seen and #2 Every person (especially the men) should be embarrassed to let this 140 pound scrawny bully compeltely take over the house.

The P10 was a rerun of last Wednesday's episode. (Even BB has trouble screwing up that badly.) They didn't show any 'coming up next week' promos, though...

Tonight, it seems like Daniele has been bitten by the " I Am Invincible" bug.. Dumber than a rock - both Wamber & Daniele.

Wamber because she promised everything but her first-born child to Daniele to stay in the game...and

Daniele for not just being "ooooooooooooooooopen and honest" and just putting up Jen in the first place. Of course, she was trying to put Jen at ease, so that she wouldn't COMPETE in the POV competition, but still.....

That whole "backdoor" thing (that Wamber is soo afraid of) is still a bit overused IMHO.

Just go ahead and get rid of the beyotch you WANT,don't wait until later to see if they compete or not. DUMB.... DUMB....

"RE: Big Brother #8 Episode #21 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by vince3 on 08-21-07 at 11:23 PM
This is, I think the reasoning:

Week 3: Jen wins the POV and takes herself off

Week 4: Jameka won the POV for Jen and takes Jen off

Week 5: Jen wins the POV again and takes herself off, again!

The backdoor is sometimes the only way to guarantee they stay/get onto the block in time for the vote to evict..........
