It's getting later in the day, and I haven't seen Cygnus around. I'm starting this thread with hopes that he will not be offended. If he is offended, I will spend a lot of time kissing up and apologising.

*********

We need gas. Did you get gas? Is there a gas station around here? Why didn't we get gas before? If you'd listened to me, we'd have gas by now. Why don't we have gas? Do you hear me?

Gas!

I don't think we did enough screeching cheering, girls. We need to let everyone else know that we're still in the race and we're kicking aaassss!

Is it cold in here or am I just excited?

Yes, more cheering please, and some jumping up and down would be nice.

Little boy, I'm not at all surprised that you would be interested in the Godlewski goddesses because, to be honest, your sisters look like ratty little skanks and its about time you see some real women. And has your mother ever heard of a brush?

Some people may think that I'm being mean, but you know what? I don't give a crap. We're not here to give you jesus freaks some sympathy; we're here to kick your aaasss!

Linz brothers? check. Weaver kid? check. Now let's see who else we can bamboobzle with out tight pinks.

Well, welcome to Middleburg, Virginia, the second Pit Stop in a race around the world The Amazing Race Family Edition.

Congrats, Weavers! Guess the secular humanist e-mails must have worked; I heard only one prayer reference from you the whole time. (Actually, we edited out all 6,305 of the others.) BTW, I think there’s a hurricane headed to Bermuda when you’re there. But you can just pray it away.

For a moment there, I thought we’d have to carry some of YOU out on those stretchers. But Paolos and Gaghans, way to go under duress. There’s Ben-Gay for you right over there. There’s oxygen too, but Walt Bransen is busy Bogarting it. And good job by those of you who found it easier to light a lantern than to curse His Bruckness.

Note to Bert and Elise: next time, please write the clue the following way:
"Find the Reflecting Pool at the U.S. Capitol. No, not the one between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial, you sillies. The.One.At.The.U.S.Capitol. You know, the one in every window of every office of a movie set in DC. Capiche?"

Oh, and Paolos: FYI, there ARE no gas stations in Northern Virginia. Congressman Preppie, Jim Moran, got them outlawed. Actually, Tysons Corner Galleria has paved over all of them now.

Rogerses, your consolation prize is an all-expense-paid trip to I-83. And some communication lessons. And a visit to Bystander’s house. Lucky you didn’t wind up going north and passing Three Mile Island. Enjoy shopping tax-free at Gabriel Brothers. And say hi to Scot from The Scholar (whaddya mean, "who?").

There's still time to play. Just sign up in the signup thread, in which you'll find the rules. So far, the following Racers have been claimed:

WEAVER: Linda, Rolly
PAOLO: Marion, DJ (ETA: Tony)
LINZ: Tommy, Megan
AIELLO: Tony
GAGHAN: Carissa, Bill
BRANSEN: Walter
GODLEWSKI: Sharon
SCHROEDER: Mark

You may also participate without signing up by posting as a non-Racer, e.g. a Civil War reenactor, a "spy," a cameraperson or sound tech, or others. Or even as inanimate objects, like the Shoe House (or its animate inhabitants!)

Have fun!

OOC: Some of us have to work, ya know! Seriously, the latest I'll try to have this thread up is by the following evening. If I can't, I'll let one of you know. Thanks, Seana!

My panties in a knot? Is that how you talk to your mother? If you'd listened to me, we'd have gas in this car. It's big and uses up a lot of gas. Why you gotta be like that all the time?

Where's the Linz kid? He can tell you about gas.

It's shocking how disrespectful your sons are to you. If I ever dissed my mom like that she would have me kneeling on a pile of broken glass for 2 hours praying for forgiveness.

And I would deserve it.

Wasn't you who said nobody EVER, EVER listens to you? I'm glad my kids and I don't have to.

And don't even think of a future TAR stars Wife Swap episode! You wouldn't last 5 minutes in this household.

Hey, only me and my sons get to talk nasty to my wife. And by the way, she'd wipe those snarky little smirks off your litte rugrats' faces.

And just where have you been? I'm trying to do it all over here, fending off insults from your son and all these other people. It's all your fault.

Just don't even start Marion. You've been nagging me for years and I've been ingnoring you for years, and I'm not about to start listening now, even if we are on national TV looking like the Dr.Phil candidates instead TAR DAWS. You do make some really tasty spaghetti though. Yumm.

Hey, don't talk to your mother like that. Back in the old country no one talks to their mother like that.

"...whataya mean uses more gas? Am I gonna have to pop someone? Don't make me pop your a$$ punk!"

You're lucky to even have gas. We didn't have gas in the old country, we had to push our cars!

Now shut up and drive you ingrate.

Man, I gotta get in shape. Too many doughnuts in the board room, I guess. Thought for a minute the girls would have to carry ME off the battlefield on a stretcher!

"RE: Be the Amazing Racer Family Edition - Episode 2"
Posted by zipperhead on 10-06-05 at 11:10 AM
Hmmm...this might be a tough group to crack. These girls are younger than we are and might be in better shape. The dad is so used to not staring at beautiful blondes that he may be immune to our wiles. We'll just have to be sneaky against them!

One more thing to watch out for-- I'm getting older and my hearing isn't as good as it used to be. So your random squealing and bleating won't work either!

Thats why my siblings and I are going ot win this whole thing b/c were in shape. Even more than Gaghan family b/c were young all around. My sis even knows how to run b/c she's young!

Thy word is a lamp unto my path -- but my lamps are a path unto thee, Phil. And first place! Hooray! I'm so excited to go to Bermuda. Isn't that a part of Ireland or something?

All you wicked, wicked people parading about the wrong reflecting pool. Haven't you ever been to Maryland before? Washington's a part of Maryland, right?

BTW, Phil. Did you really think I was going to do the stretcher detour? After my incident with the buggy, the last thing I need to do is be running out in a field full of gunfire. I don't care if they're just blanks.

Ever hear of Brandon Lee?

With the Rogers family gone, looks like I'm the only real man/real leader left in this game. This is going to be a cake walk for my family.

Hey, little Carissa, guess your MARATHON training didn't do you any good running around the WRONG reflecting pool for two hours. Hahaha. Maybe I should have been nice & helped you & your family out, NOT!

I think I'm going to keep these earplugs we got from the Civil War reanactment to block out the caterwauling of all you screwed up families.

Edited, because I just realized I had the wrong siggie -- my bad

Well, so what if we spent some extra time running around that big old pool. We're marathon runners, so we weren't even tired. Hey, I didn't see any diving boards, what kind of pool was that anyway? My Mommy rocked with that spy thing. We knew that would happen, and I wanted to see the big statue of that old guy, Ford. You know, the dead prezident guy by that dum pool.

And that whole war thing, I thought the war was in Irak, not in America. I worked so hard on that task.
