"General comment on "plugs""

Just a note to metaljef and to others who might want to plug their own sites or projects:

1. It's OK to do it. Really. After all, everyone needs to start somewhere.

2. BUT it's not OK to post it in multiple forums. Pick one forum and post it there. For example, this post could either have gone in Survivor Fanatics or Bashers, but it can't go in both. So the copy in Bashers has been deleted.

3. AND don't bump your thread to give it more visibility or keep it near the top. If it sinks like a stone, so be it. If you bump it, we'll lock it. If you keep posting it multiple places, we'll ban you. Thus, it's probably a good idea to include something in your post that will make people want to comment on it, so they can bump it for you when they post (and also, it won't seem like such a blatant plug if there is some "meat" to the post as well as the plug).

These guidelines are not directed just at metaljef, and I apologize for the appearance that they are. We've been having a wave of people wanting to post plugs for their sites in multiple forums, and it's worthwhile once again to lay out our guidelines for such posts.

Seems like people need reminders of where to post things since one of the topics here belongs in offtopic forum.
