They head off to the Sirkeci train station, go past the dirvashes to the next clue.
U&C first
The Zombies 2nd
Romber next. They don't know what dirvashes are. Rob thinks they're topless women.

It's not alot of money in England. What's the current exchange rate there? 1 British pound = about $1.90 US. England is just way too expensive, dollar wise.

The clue was to go to London and to Abbey Road crosswalk from the Beatles album.

Uchenna/Joyce - 10:53 p.m.
Meredith/Gretchen - 11:57 p.m.
Rob/Amber - 12:?? a.m.
Ron/Kelly - 12:53 a.m.

Plenty of time for a huge mistake by any one of the teams, maybe Stuart sends them the wrong way.

"Detour: Brains or Brawn "
Posted by FFantasyFX on 05-03-05 at 09:23 PM
Brains - Solve three riddles, which eventually lead to 221B Baker Street.

Brawn - Stack four boats.

Romber decides for brains. M/G & U/J have finally arrived in London.

"Now this is really strange"
Posted by volsfan on 05-03-05 at 09:25 PM
M/G had a choice to brain vs. brawn and from the previews we see U/J helping M/G with their boat. Why in the name of all that is good would the zombies do brawn. Even if it is faster...why risk it? STEWPID!

Rob/Amber yield Ron/Kelly

"Disagree with Rob, Agree with Amber?????"
Posted by FFantasyFX on 05-03-05 at 09:32 PM
Rob wanted to yield Ron/Kelly; Amber wanted to yield Uchenna/Joyce. I actually agree with Amber. I suppose they didn't know exactly how far behind the other two teams were, but had they followed Amber's suggestion, they could have knocked out U/J and kept M/G in the game.

"RE: Disagree with Rob, Agree with Amber?????"
Posted by Voltec on 05-03-05 at 09:40 PM
Don't forget, Romber aren't looking to beat the #4 team, they are looking to put seperation between them and the #2 team. They have no idea that there will be a future 'betting spoiler' indicating that U/J might be the winners... lol

If I were them, I would have yielded the team directly behind me too... going into the last leg, I was as much of a lead before the team behind me as possible.

"Disagree Profusely"
Posted by FFantasyFX on 05-03-05 at 09:56 PM
Romber knew that Ron/Kelly were in second place. Really, the yield did nothing to its intended target. If it even just gave Romber a slim chance to eliminate Uchenna/Joyce, they should have yieled U/J. Who would you rather be racing against in the finale, Uchenna/Joyce or the zombies from dimension x?

How much you wanna bet there's another prize for Rob and Amber?

"Rob and Amber First!!"

The Rob Amber thing can't be true, I seem to recall the problem was supposedly with the Sherlock Holmes clues. Unless they lose 3 hours in the next pitstop over 8 miles.

"RE: TAR7 EP11 East Coast Update Thread "

WOW! Rob did the bus thing 4 times and Ron and Kelly still didn't get there in time.

I think they should have yielded U/J to keep M/G around for the final leg.

Bickering? Actually I think Ron made a comment when they got there about how incredibly long their cab ride was.

"RE: TAR7 EP11 East Coast Update Thread "
Posted by FFantasyFX on 05-03-05 at 09:41 PM
I don't know, I think both U/J & M/G gained time on the other two teams thanks to the detour choice. M/G had trouble, but given their penchant for getting lost, they were well advised to avoid the brains choice.

"This could get interesting . . ."
Posted by FFantasyFX on 05-03-05 at 09:37 PM
U/J wait for the train, M/G in a cab, R/K at the yield. This could potentially be a fantastic finish - a three-way race with the buses to avoid elimination.

U/J seem to be having problems at the train station as well.

"RE: This could get interesting . . ."
Posted by ARnutz on 05-03-05 at 09:40 PM
I don't see any way that Romber can be eliminated! Did they do anything to warrant a penalty? I don't think so.

"Finally Amber Takes It Off"
Posted by waldo555 on 05-03-05 at 09:54 PM

After spending the race in her warmup suit Amber finally takes it off in Jamaica, can't wait for next week.

"RE: Finally Amber Takes It Off"
Posted by TorontoFan1 on 05-03-05 at 10:10 PM
How far ahead are R/A??

Rob said it took an hour for his 4 attempts - and R/K didn't arrive until after they had left.

R/K had to wait 15 <??> minutes for the yield, then it took her 7 tries to park the bus. Say 1 1/2 hour to do the task plus the wait time.

So that puts R/A close to 2 hours ahead on their start for the final leg. Imagine there are lots of flights out of Heathrow- could explain why that Puerto Rico spoiler only had R/K and U/G being spotted together. R/A might be way ahead.

But.....the preview showed all six of them seemingly bunched.
I'm confused.

Why do Ron and Kelly feel the need to continually broadcast their relationship problems to the world?? They know that they are being filmed, but feel the need to kepp repeating this stupid committment thing over and over.... Airing your dirty laundry gets old very quickly.

Can they not even come up with another topic to discuss? The weather?? The zombies?? Buckingham Palace??? How Amber looks in her bathing suit??

Cost me the lead in the Casino game.

And made out dear Nutz look, well, nuts. I also couldn't figure out how they were going to F it up.

I for one am thrilled. I loves me some Romber and I'm glad they were in every episode, even if they don't win.

But my condolences to Slicey and the rest of the Anti-Romber contingent.

"RE: Damn Spoilers"

Lots of spoilers are inaccurate and this week we had several different theories going in the vidcap thread, so it was just a matter of which theory to believe more. When AyaK vouched for the Romber one, I totally believed it too.

Hey, don't you still have the lead in the Anti-Eliminee? You have been rocking at the games. And you can make it up next week!

Welcome Toy!
Yes, Gretchen did have a Blog where she was posting her insights about the Race after each episode. I was only able to read a few pages of it, and meant to go back, but it dissapeared. I've checked the link many times in the last 2 weeks, but it's gone.
Sorry.
Hope you stick around the forums and enjoy the rest of the show with us, it's a fun place.

"Three thoughts"
Posted by AyaK on 05-03-05 at 10:13 PM
1) As the person who posted the entire MBR "spoiler" over here and defended it, I'm glad to see that it was wrong. One of the reasons that I stopped spoiling was that there were so many leaks that I felt like I was competing against a stacked deck. Today, the deck was unstacked a little. And kudos to all of you who ignored me and picked Team Zombie to go.

Maybe the Filipino paper spilled something after all -- even though that would be a serious breach of journalistic ethics in the US.

2) Rob was entirely correct in his decision to yield Ron & Kelly. If there was one team that I would be afraid of if I were Team DAW (Romber) and didn't know the betting spoiler, it would be Team Loser (R/K). The goal is to win, and the only way to win is to build a lead on the teams that are the biggest threats. Remember Team Guido -- ending up a full day behind in TAR1?

3) Now I have to deal with the original rumor: that Romber finishes third. I wonder how it happens. A sprint to the finish after everyone gets on the same plane to the pit stop, as in TAR2 (which doomed Blaige)? Seems most likely.

Now I have to deal with the original rumor: that Romber finishes third.

Speaking of, maybe we should revisit this. What's the source and is there any back-up to legitimize it? You specifically say rumor as opposed to spoiler. Because if a well-respected spoiler can be dead wrong, it's hard to imagine putting a bunch of stock into a rumor.

Your post today made me very sad, AyaK, because I know when someone has sure information it is almost always correct, and if you were vouching for the info it had to be from someone who was correct in the past.
I am still holding out a little hope that the third place rumor is also incorrect. ( just a little)

I'm one of those that enjoys the speclation and clue type spoiling more then the inside info. More fun.

I thank you! This weeks episode was a happy surprise for me.

Me too, I much prefer trying to figure out the locatons and the tasks from the vidcaps and things, then watching it unfold as the episode airs.

I'll (kinda) tell you the source of that rumor, so that you can make your own judgment. It came from someone who gave us advance info about the Romber wedding (in our news article, we sourced the info to a story in Amber's local paper, but that wasn't our only source). The person was correct about the wedding, but that doesn't mean that he or she will be correct about the finish.

Thanks AK!
I am going to choose to take the rumor with a big pinch of salt, because I don't want it to be correct. * HaHa*
But I am glad that some of the 'inside sources' spoilers haven't panned out.

The AK , he nice

"Breach of Journalistic ethics"

Ayak,

The way Philippine newspapers work, especially in the entertainment sections is that they place articles and press releases provided for them by talent agencies, record companies and most especially televisions stations. This placement is akin to a print ad so there is some monetary exchange for this article placement.

It is rare (even nonexistent) for entertainment sections in newspapers here to write original articles. The article we saw in the Philippine paper was provided for by AXN-Asia, a cable channel located in Singapore. Maybe it was released a week early or mistakenly by an AXN staffer but it was only published because AXN provided it. Please don't cast any aspersions on the ethics of that paper. Just trying to shed a light on it.

Hi Ayak, this is in addition to the response of jbounce!

2 stations broadcast TAR here in the Philippines. One local station broadcasts it live at 9am Wednesday, and AXN-Asia shows it at 8pm. Last week, watchin the replay of the previous episode, they had a merch plugs for TAR7 saying that today would be a 2-HOUR SEASON FINALE, so they may have gotten some serious signals crossed and released the results prematurely to the Asian publications in which they advertise.

I myself skipped work this mornign waiting for a 2-hour ride and was confused when they started showing scenes for next week. I wasn't able to read the article re supposed spoiler outcome. (Jbounce, which publication and when did this come out?)

jbounce and dirob, I thank you for the insights on Philippine newspapers.

In the US, a newspaper would always alter a press release at least a little before running it, and press releases for reality-competition shows are delayed until two to three days before they air.

On the scenes from next week, it looked like Amber took a tumble on a pallet sort of thing, slipping forward. Then a couple scenes later, Rob was piggy backing her. Is it possible she hurt herself enough to make them finish third?

"RE: Three thoughts"
Posted by Pensha26 on 05-04-05 at 11:53 AM
I was thinking the same thing.

It could be that Amber was hurt enough to slow them down or require medical attention to put them way behind. Plus, I belive that the next roadblocks Amber has to perform and this "injury" could cause them to fall behind as well.

This would also be the reason why Romber finish third and kind of ties everything in a nice little bow.

Which Filipino paper is this? I don't recall reading anything here...is it a Filipino publication printed and distributed in the States?

It was 10AM and a big whoop went out when Rob and Amber stepped on the mat in London! We all must be evil people to love the 2 so much!

Hiya Buggah!

Posted something at the discussion board you pointed me out to! I know the editor of the Entertainment section of that paper and she explained a little bit. You might wanna read it!

it's almost lunchtime and i want a celebratory drink for today's Romber win and my sides still hurt from laughing so much that they won ANOTHER prize! (i could see it coming and holding my breath!) i can see all the conspiracy theoritst going up in arms and starting a riot out a CBS! LOL!

The entire episode, I was trying to figure out what they could have done to lose. Since there was no penalty (and if there is we will see it next week and maybe they'll start later?) tonight, and I don't see where there could be.

I guess MBR got some bad info. Could his source have set him up delibertaely? In any case, it ended up being off the mark. At least I don't have to hang my head in shame b/c of my NYPost theory! Until next week at least!

That Philipine paper was right on, maybe they are not as strict in other countries? Maybe people don't care as much or since it was in English--geared more to US travelers and workers? Who knows!

It's anyones race from this point--the previews didn't give any concrete hints that I could pick up on.

Well I'm happy. I didn't believe the spoiler and voted for M/G to be booted. I could not see how they could stay in the game and Romber be booted. Just didn't make sense to me no matter who said it was true.

And I loved the London setting. I could recognize the places and that always makes it more interesting.

One major screw up - missing a flight, getting lost for a few hours, could have done Rob & Amber in. That was the only explanation I could come up with to believe MBR's spoiler.

But I did and had the most pleasant surprise ending to my day!

LAST EDITED ON 05-03-05 AT 11:39 PM (EST)

I was expecting a task screw-up. I thought when they made it a point to show us Uchenna and Meredith saying they couldn't get help in the detour that there was a penalty coming for Rob using a tour guide -- although I don't remember that rule before -- they got help with elephants in India. Perhaps racers just aren't allowed to help other racers?

I wouldn't say it was a pleasant surprise for me, but I'll concede that it will be a more interesting finale with Rob and Amber compared to Meredith and Gretchen.

ETF: an error.

These races are close enough that even a "slow" team like M&G just needs a small error by another team to slip through.

For what it's worth, MBR used a sig in one of those posts that he ALWAYS used to use in the "old days." I thought that the sig was a hint as to where the info came from -- a source that both of us know, and that is NEVER wrong on CBS shows.

But I guess that wasn't the source after all....

AyaK, was that the
Lux
./ . ?

I was trying to figure that out. if the ./ . is morse code with / = - , that would be AE.
I'm clueless about the 'Lux' part and probably off in left field about the AE part, but ya can't put something like that in front of folks who are spolier junkies and not expect them to try to figure it out. ;)

That they HAVE to win a prize everytime they come in first place. This is the most bull I have every seen since the Amazing Race has begun. CBS should be ashamed.

What's is going on!!!

I'm hooked on reality shows!!!

Posted by AyaK on 05-04-05 at 05:06 PM
Well, since you ask, JPGramma:

Yes, that's the sig. But I won't explain it. It's not Morse Code, though.

If you prowl around through old, old, old, old posts on Reality TV World, you may find that sig under MBR's old username.
