"Summaries"

OK, "Push, Nevada" is a new kind of show for us -- a "scripted interactive drama." What that means is that the media whores on this show are PROFESSIONAL media whores, not the amateurs that we generally get to mock on RealityTVWorld.com.

Nevertheless, it makes sense to me that we should write summaries for this show. Supposedly, the show is trying to give us hints and clues about where to find the missing money (I expect that it will be in a suitcase behind Parma Pierogies in Parma, Ohio, but what do I know?) -- so we should give the show something in return ... an "unreality check," so to speak.

Anyone interested in writing a summary for one of the episodes in this show should post in this thread.

I expect that it will be in a suitcase behind Parma Pierogies in Parma, Ohio, but what do I know?

At least *I* will be close enough to run out and claim it. And, on the off chance he'd answer my call, maybe I could encourage Drew Carey to come help me spend it in his bar.

I'm interesting in doing a summary but I would rather do one toward the end.If I get one for TAR and alot of people want to do a PN one...then just drop me.

ONLY if there's not enough writers... I'd be happy to write one of the early shows to help get things started off with a bang.

I've already signed up for S5 and TAR3, so I would gladly let others have a shot at writing for this if there's enough interest.

Well, you probably won't be able to write much after the new baby is born, so ... would you like to do E1 of this?

Okay sure...I wouldn't mind taking a stab at the first episode!

Still four-plus months to go before the baby so still plenty of time to get my reality-TV fix before I enter a reality show of my own called "Changing Diapers".

First of all, thank you AyaK for guaranteeing me an S5 summary. {{{{{{{{{{{{AyaK}}}}}}}}}}}}

Hi, I'm willling to throw my hat into the ring, only if it will unseat Survivoreist from the the 3rd spot--j/k.

Seriously, count me in. I won't say yet, which episode I prefer, just that I don't want it to be at the same time as my S5 summary.

What I am hoping for, is to do a later summary for Survivor 5-Thailand--preferably--Episode 8, and an earlier one for Push, Nevada.
It is not necessary to accept everything as true, one must only accept it as necessary.

I don't know what I'm getting myself into with this new kind of show, but I have to cut my summary teeth somewhere. Sign me up anywhere you have a spot, Ayak.

I'm always willing to help out on summaries.

However, since this is one of the opportunities for new summary writers to cut their teeth and become eligible for Survivor summaries (and possibly TAR, I saw your message on adding the priority there too), I will gladly step aside in favor of giving new people a chance to write. I'd love to write one, but I've got other chances, so only use me if you don't get enough other takers.

I'm willing to give up a chance to get back into a tie for third on the number of different forums with a summary...for now.

Did a little research... according to a fact sheet that I found, there are 13 episodes scheduled for the initial broadcast with the option to renew for a second 13-episode season to air in the spring. (Anyone note the coincidental timing of Mole:Celeb to air between the Push:NV seasons???)

Now if ABC will just leave PUSH to air in the same time slot as The Mole...we will all breathe a little easier!

BTW...AyaK I will be happy to contribute an episode summary if you are short writers. I would prefer advance warning if possible!! (Note pad & VCR at the ready!)

From the ABC press release for the show:

Each episode will have new puzzles to follow and solve, along with a dazzling array of guest stars. In a next-generation twist, viewers following "Push, Nevada," the mystery series, will also be able to play "Push, Nevada," the game. Every episode of the show will hold clues to solving the mystery, beginning with the premiere episode, "The Amount." At the end of the 13 episodes, the winner of the mystery contest will be able to claim the stolen money.

So ... 13 episodes is right. Thanks, sleeeve.

Hey, have we ever posted the whole press release? Other than plugs for LivePlanet, here's the plot synopsis:

Mild-mannered IRS agent Jim Prufrock (Derek Cecil) travels to a remote desert town in search of missing money and stumbles on a place where mystery, danger and peculiar characters lurk around every off-kilter corner. Everyone has a secret in Push, Nevada, but no one is talking, unless they're telling Jim to get out of town -- fast. Every word, every sign, every gesture could hold a clue to solving the riddle of this tiny Nevada town.

The mystery begins when a fax from the Versailles Casino in Push is sent by accident (perhaps) to Jim, alerting him to a sizable accounting error -- and an embezzlement scheme involving a fortune in cash. Casino honcho Silas Bodnick refuses to talk about the missing money, so Jim's investigation leads him to Push, where nothing is as it seems.

Push is a town where neighborhood couples indulge in synchronized romance each night at 9:15; where the only casino, the Versailles, pays out the biggest jackpots in the state; and where the lonely look for companionship at "Sloman's," a slow-dance bar. It's there that Jim meets Mary (Scarlett Chorvat), a beautiful and enigmatic woman who tells him that the mystery of Push is, "like all the best secrets, not quick in the telling," and warns him to go home before he gets hurt. A determined man, Jim plans to find out what mystery lies behind Push, no matter what the risk. All along the way, a shadowy team of high-tech operatives monitors his every encounter with the town's denizens.

Sounds like "Twin Peaks" meets "Murder, She Wrote."

Right now, we have 10 writers for Push, Nevada summaries:

1. PepeLePew13 (E1)
2. Silvergirl1 (E2)
3. trigirl (E3)
4. magic_star
5. RedLady
6. YumYumsAngel007
7. Bebo
8. Strider
9. Teddy_Bear
10. Asrai

So ... we only need three more writers, and we'll wrap up the schedule. First come, first served.

Edited to move the people writing the first three summaries to the first three slots

Thank you AyaK, all I ask is that you don't schedule me for a summary the same week as my Survivor one.

And . . . as I said above--when I was and am still hoping for Episode 8 S5 summary--If Push comes to shove, I'd rather write my Nevada summary within at least, a few weeks appart.

Since there is a possibility that OFG might switch with me, and I'll be working on--j/k Erist, in the meantime,

I'm not yet sure when that will be.

AyaK, from the Push, Nevada schedule; I got the impression that the first episode is Sept. 17 & the second on the 19th--the sme as for Survivor 5--Episode 1.

I assume you could take this to mean that every Push summary which falls on the corresponding episode of survivor, is one number later.

Therefore, Ep. 2=1, 3=2, 4=3, and so on. I am currently scheduled to write an S5 summary. S5 # 5=PN summary # 6.

There is a possiblility that OFG may switch eps. with me. She is current;ly scheduled to write S5 summary #8=PN summary #9.

Until I hear back from her, I'm also trying to get hold of Survioreist who has S5 #7=PN # 8.

What I'd like to ask is that you give me summary # 11 or #10 in the meantime.

Since Episode 11 is not scheduled yet, I forsee no problem.

Thank you, TB. P.S. Is my sigline the right height? I've asked sleeeve this as well, but in OT you said that any sigline not extending beyond 65 pixels in total (quotes, etc.) would be acceptable.

I suppose it's a requirement to actually watch the show to write a review of it. Damn those stickling contract particulars.

Starts in September, same week as Survivor.

E1 will air the Tuesday before Survivor debuts -- E2 and all subsequent episodes will air Thursdays at 9 PM, right AFTER Survivor (except on a different network, ABC instead of CBS). It'll be competing with CSI head-on.

Weekly, unless it gets canceled.

ABC

Actually, I've written summaries of shows that I didn't watch. But it's much easier to watch the show before writing the summary!

"Preliminary Tentative Summaries"

LAST EDITED ON 08-23-02 AT 02:44 PM (EST)

Since I don't know the dates for this show, it's hard to do a final schedule. I also don't know when Teddy_Bear will do her Survivor summary. But, here's a very preliminary episode schedule:

E1. PepeLePew13
E2. Silvergirl1
E3. trigirl
E4. magic_star
E5. Ra_8secs
E6. buckeyegirl
E7. Bebo
E8. RedLady
E9. YumYumsAngel007
E10. Strider
E11. Teddy_Bear
E12. Asrai
E13. TBD (I'll ask someone to write this one)

One problem with this schedule is that if Teddy_Bear really shifts to E8 of Survivor: Thailand, she'll have to move to a different episode here -- methinks that E8 of S5 will take place the same time as E10 of Push, Nevada.

There's another possible issue. This show could get canceled at any time. If ABC could yank Mole 2 off the air arbitrarily after only 3 weeks, then PN could be dogmeat by E5 or E6. That's why I scheduled all of the people who applied to write summaries of other shows (Silvergirl1, trigirl, Ra_8secs, buckeyegirl) to handle episodes prior to E7!

And if you find out about a Teddy switch before I'm scheduled to write E7, then I'll gladly switch with her and take E11.

Well, TV Guide Online is reporting that there will only be 7 episodes of Push - it will be cancelled following the 10/24 episode.

I'm currently scheduled to do Ep7, but I'm willing to let our mystery writer have it so that he/she/it can have a finale under his/her/its belt.

Our mystery guest can email me and let me know - that way the board will still have 2 mysteries to solve.
