I know that the spamming messages, duplicate messages, and requests for information about things that a poster could find easily if they bothered to read are increasingly frustrating you. But, you are not mods. You should be alerting the posts and leaving them alone. If you know the link to the thread that has their information, putting it in your alert saves us time & is much appreciated. But leave it to one of us to respond to them.
It's absolutely not your place to tell them they're in the wrong forum, that they should quit spamming, or that they should read instead of posting. All of those things fall into the category of vigilante moderation &/or poster bashing of your own. That's our job. And responding to a post bashing you, or someone else, just encourages them.

"Bumping" is simply an expression used to refer to a post made simply for the purpose of moving the thread back up to the top of the page. It's primarily used for moderator messages so that they don't get "lost" and peeps see and read them.Occasionally, it is used for a thread that has dropped a few pages back when peeps are posting new, duplicate, messages that better belong on the original discussion thread.
It is considered "bad form" to bump your own message in hopes of getting (any/more) replies.

And, yes, I noticed that you said you weren't one for "breading" rules. I refrained from asking if that meant you preferred them baked or boiled, rather than fried.
