Get ready for the two-part finale --- with a surprise twist taking place at the end.

Czar of "24 Insider" fame has spoiled most of both parts of the last episode, through bits and pieces over the last week ... and the board has an "official" spoiler for Ep. 5.23 as well.

For those of you with more patience than me, fasten your seat belts, you're in for a bumpy ride.

The activity over at the Insider board is phenominal. I tired to follow the Czar discussion for awhile, but coudn't keep up when I couldn't go back reguarly. I did see the regular spoiler for the first hour - VERY interesting.

FTR - the discussion regarding the regular spoiler over their on hour 23 is approaching 20,000 posts. The other thread which has progressive revelations from Czar for both hours is now a little over 9,200 posts.

Think anyone cares about this stuff?

I posted a distillation of the Czar finale spoiler in the "upcoming episode information" thread.

But I left out the very last part.

Yow. What an awesome episode.

Though the whole "Hot Presidential Sex" thing sorta made me nauseous. Still, nothing in the world's a better distraction

Ohhh, I hope Aaron comes back. And hooks up with the amazing Martha.

the Chloe and Edgar pic... I'll admit to a couple tears. I rather like Morris though (although I'm not sure HOW he and Chloe could have possibly been married- he's way too smoove for her)

And the Karen/Buchanan thing? Saw it coming. He's so dreamy...

As for Jack, I hope China treats him well ^__^

RIP Edgar

Me too, Slice. I've been drooling over him since the second he showed up.

Jack and Bill Buchanan both make me all swoony. *grin*

I would have breakfast with Bill Buchanan any day. Every day. All day.

Morris didn't look too bad either (well, I do prefer those of the heavy-set variety)

If by "breakfast" you mean "hot Buchanan sex," I'm in complete agreement.

I agree! Morris and his accent can come over and play with my computer any day. And yes, "computer" is code.

Of course that's what I meant.

As someone who was very angry with the deaths of President Palmer and Tony, I am glad to see the season finale restored my faith in the show!!

All season I became disinterested with the bad guys being killed off as soon as they were discovered, Logan was a wimp and everyone else was boring!!

This was a good cliff hanger--but not a surprising one.. The Chinese issue does need to be resolved

Questions about Aaron and Wayne still remain and hopefully they will be answered in January.

Its hard to believe that Jack is the ONLY original cast member from season one, besides the obnoxious daughter but luckily she hasnt ( and hopefully wont) be a part of the new season...

So glad Logan got his but I was hoping Martha was going to KILL HIM!!

January is ONLY SEVEN MONTHS AWAY!

Any thoughts on Henderson? Is he really dead or was this Jack's way of helping him disappear, much like Jack did last year.

After he tried to shoot Jack, I can't see why Jack would help him. I also can't imagine what use he would be to anyone at this point. *shrug*

I thought that too, but then why show his "dead" body after the fact in one of the intro scenes... I think he's still alive..that's why they had the navy engineer "witness" the shooting..

I thought the "Shanghai" on the back of the ship was Perfect!

Exactly my thoughts, Emy. Henderson got his perfect escape.

Glad I'm not the only one that got the Shanghai joke.

O.K., I'll admit it; I'm a bit slow. What is the "Shanghai" joke?

Shanghai is slang for kidnapping, specifically to serve aboard a ship:

shang·hai ( P ) Pronunciation Key (shng-h, shngh)
tr.v. shang·haied, shang·hai·ing, shang·hais

To kidnap (a man) for compulsory service aboard a ship, especially after drugging him.
To induce or compel (someone) to do something, especially by fraud or force: We were shanghaied into buying worthless securities.

How old was the American naval engineer who survived on the submarine? I was guessing 14, but my friend Alison thought he looked closer to 12.

Although I just discovered this group while posting on another one here, I figured better late than never!

I was on the edge of my seat for every second of the season finale. I also found myself yelling at the TV several times. I so wanted to see Jack get in at least one good shot (punch) to Logan's jaw or surrounding area. He also should not have been allowed to finish his speech. He should have been handcuffed and hauled off for all to see like any other average American would have been. I'm hoping the spineless weasel doesn't broker a deal and get released next season.

I don't think this is over and I'm guessing Logan had something to do with Jack getting kidnapped by the Chinese. Hence his comment that Jack would be taken care of.

Speaking of which, this can't be over because we don't know yet who the yuppy wearing glasses is that Logan was always calling on the phone and vice versa.

Kudos to Martha for sucking it up and doing what was necessary, albeit revolting. I'd like to see her and Aaron hook up as well.

I found myself drawn to and rather enjoying the character of Morris, Chloe's ex-husband. I'd like to see him come back because I believe the banter between him and Chloe would be quite entertaining if it continues like last night.

I am praying however, that Jack finds a new female interest. I just can't stand Audrey. I didn't like her last season and although she pulled her weight during this latest terrorist attack, I'm still not impressed.

Sigh....I guess I just put Jack on a pedestal.

Gotta say, Audrey's grown on me.

She's pretty bland, but damn- the girl had a major artery cut, and she managed to look fan-fvcking-tastic.

Thanks for pointing out how the Chinese knew about Jack. That does make all the sense in the world. Next season should be rather interesting. I like Chloes ex-hubby too and hope that he stays but definitely dont want to see Kim again.

I picture the next day starting off as a rescue effort, only they have no idea where to look. I expect since Logan was probably behind it, he'll be back too although in some sort of private prison. They still dont want to bring the country down by implicating the President so they need some way to have him resign and then keep him under lock and key but without the american public knowing why.

I'm hoping that we see our other CTU guy from Italy I think show up again since Jack is now international and who knows what the Chinese might do to him or who they might try to sell him to. Seven months is too darn long to wait for another 24, I want my fix NOW.

How hard can that be when you weigh 98 lbs!!!!

Notable absenses: Curtis, Wayne Palmer, Sec. Heller
Was their some budget limitations or what?

I would liked to have gotten a resolution on Evelyn and her daughter. Pretty sure Henderson killed both of them, but would have liked to have had that confirmed. Poor Evelyn.

The President & Mrs. Logan. That? Was a the quickest quickie I've ever seen. I don't think it was even a minute before I saw clothes coming back on.

And where was Curtis last night? I have to say that Audrey was tortured with drugs, had her brachial artery cut and just a few hours before, but she looked very well put together and rested at this long day. I think I heard that the actress is in a pilot for the fall, but she said don't read too much into that.

In "24" time, it took about 3 minutes (5:57 to 6:00) from clothes going off to clothes going on. Apparently Charles Logan hates to wait. No wonder Martha's looking longingly at Aaron.

My favorite moment of last night's episode was Jean Smart's suppressed smile when her husband looked at her after he was arrested.
