This is a pic of a park here in Lubbock with 3,412 flags, one for each person known to have been killed in the 9/11 attacks. Each flag was assembled and planted with volunteer label.

They had a candlelight vigil last night where each name was read, and this morning is a ceremony honoring all the first response people of the area.

It's quite a sight. The small size allowed here doesn't do it justice...

Very moving, nailbone. Especially when we stop to consider that people are observing remembrance, one way or another, not just throughout the nation but throughout the world. May we never forget.

All those flags, it's overwhelming.

There have been some very moving tributes. Hard to believe it happened 2 years ago, it still feels so fresh.
