The final four hours -- time for some shockers.

In this hour of Season 2 (which seems to have been the model for season 5), we...

1) Had David Palmer removed from office;
2) Found out the Cyprus recording source chip was fried;
3) Learned about Alex Hewitt; and
4) Learned about Alex's accomplice, Sherry Palmer.

Are there still going to be relevant new characters like Alex Hewitt this season? It appears not. But the power games are still going on ... and on ... and on ...

Raise your hand if you were shocked at Miles' little "deal" with Logan? For the record I am keeping both arms firmly at my side.

Miles ---> Big Twit

I was torn between wanting to see Logan blow his brains out, or having to face the wrath of Jack. I have to say I'm eager to see Logan get what's coming to him.

Logan ---> Biggest Twit

How happy was I to see Aaron in the preview?

Augie ---> Super Happy!

Hallelujah! Aaron!

I *heart* Aaron.

I'm a bit worried about all the blood, though.

Yeah, I was a bit mixed on the suicide myself. I'm actually kinda glad Miles called the President, just because I know that now Logan's gonna get him comeuppance by the hands of Jack. I don't want Logan taking any shortcuts.

Good episode last night, by the way. Last night's episode really showcased Sean Callery's music written for the show. Some powerful stuff, especially in the Presidential suicide scenes. Very cinematic.

I'm getting a bit tired of the whole recording subplot, so it will be interesting to see what happens with Bierko next week.

I had read in the newspaper, earlier in the day that Episode 21 would reveal the fate of both Heller and Aaron. So....I had this whole scenario in my head.

Logan get his gun out and stares at it wistfully. Loads the gun. Goes to say goodbye to Martha. Returns to finish the deed. Holds the gun to his head and..... there is super agent Pierce, holding the clip saying "it's not going to be that easy Mr. President"...in his lovely drawl.

<sigh> I heart Aaron.

So disappointed in the writers. And, I've really been enjoying the show the past few weeks. It's really picked up. But, what is it with Bierko and the CTU driver winking at each other. WTF man, give it a break. How many times can CTU be infiltrated by the enemy. C'mon already! What's next? Kim will make a return and be held hostage?

Why didn't anyone listen to the recording????? WTF?????? Jack...Buddy....Pal....Go with Chloe first, and then go suck face with your girlfriend. Aren't we in a crisis? Haven't you seen how many moles there are running around CTU in the Past 4.8 seasons? Why would you think she'd be safe. Shouldn't we all listen to the tape before we call the attorney general? Well Shouldn't we????????

And Chloe....We've seen you redirect satellites in less time than it is taking you to clean up that recording. Aren't you wise to the old "lean over and demagnetize the recording" trick? Very disappointed here.

After what Jack had gone through to get the recording, the idea that he'd turn it over to Chloe without first playing it for Karen and Bill is ludicrous.

And -- she'd already spent over 10 minutes playing with it before Miles attacked the tape. Wouldn't she have made a copy first thing?

I think the writers have gone into brain lock.

Maybe she did make a copy.

The scene with the plane landing on the hiway was very nicely done even if it could've been better if they had added scenes from either a camera on top of the overpass or "in" the fighter plane circling above. That final brain cramp by the writers was caused by the show's title being 24 rather than 22! There were more people working against CTU than for it. The real employees are the "infiltrators"!

I think the writers have set it up for Bierko to finish off Logan. I'm willing to bet that the recording is fried and Jack will be unable to get to the President due to lack of evidence. Bierko finishes Logan and identifies others involved so that Jack can wrap things up. I think it was too easy for his men to get him out of CTU. Homeland Security will get the blame.

Can't have an American hero take out the president even if he is guilty.
