"Could it BE more obvious?"

My head jurts from being hit over and over last night with heavy-handed misdirection.

Does anyone seriously think she's going to pick John Paul?

"John Paul is stable and comfortable. That Jerry? Oooh, chemistry, but is he just playing a game?"

If she doesn't pick Jerry, I'll eat my hat.

I know I am setting myself up here, because I never guess who'll get the final rose. But this time I'm SURE.

Yes, I agree it is obvious, but you missed the mark! Jerry is not even close to getting the final rose. Did you even hear what she said about Jerry? She will pick John Paul in the end-I am sure of this. What smart girl wouldn't? She also has "chemistry" with John Paul, they have just edited out those comments to throw some of you off track. It is so clear to me-the way she easily smiles with JP, the way she looks at him, and the family meeting. It all clicks! When it clicks, it's right! John Paul will get the final rose. Could it be more obvious?

I think you've nailed it right here.

Thanks for confirming she'll pick Jerry!

Have ANY of the Bachelor(ettes) ever made the SMART pick?

No! All have "gone with their gut" or "followed their hearts". The heart and the gut are thw two body parts most likely to wind up divorced in my humble opinion.

I really hope she does not pick Jerry. I'm hoping we're
seeing the "Charlie" edit rather than the "Ian" edit.

If she doesn't want John Paul, I'd grab him!

Either way you look at it, it's a step down from being in the Firestone clan.

I have a knack for picking the wrong person on this show, so the one I pick probably won't get the rose. I was only right with Maria.

So my pick, considering my track record, is for Jerry. They seem to be trying too hard to make you think she won't pick him. Last night she did seem to click with John Paul, she did say all the right things about him and he does seem to have what she says she is looking for. But still I think it is Jerry.

I keep coming back to her comment that she had to be with all of these men when all along she knew who she wanted. Can that be said about John Paul? She was taken by Jerry the minute he walked in the door, but it seemed like she wasn't that interested in John Paul at the beginning.

I don't think she'll pick John Paul, either. Despite all of the "drama" shown between Jen and Jerry, there were moments (like playing cricket) when I could actually see them as a real couple.

I do think she will pick John Paul for sure. Jerry is playing games. He just wants to "win" and seems like he has no true feelings for Jen. He dances around her questions like crazy!!

"RE: Could it BE more obvious?"
Posted by Roo on 02-15-05 at 12:16 PM
Actually, I didn't see anything that led me to believe that he has no true feeling for her. I also didn't think he evaded her questions. Maybe he's just not good at expressing himself clearly.

I also think that the producers are making too big of a deal over Jen questioning Jerry's motives, so it must be misdirection.

I do agree with you on this. Maybe the producers are trying to throw us on who Jen will pick so they are causing a bit of controversy. I liked Ryan but he is gone! I just am not a fan of Jerry at all.

Ya think?

Seriously, there is no reason for Jen to question Jerry's motives any more than the motives of the others guys, unless the producers are asking her to. In the end, she is going to "decide" to "take a chance" on Jerry because her feelings for him are just so strong.

Plus, I didn't tape the show, but I could swear when Jen was giving Jerry his rose, he whispered something like "You had to call me 2nd huh?" And I swear she replied "They told me too." It's barely audible, but it's there.

The closed-captioning spewed out: "Don't stick me" while she put the rose on him (which is what Jerry has said to Jen a few ceremonies in a row now) and Jen repied, "I won't." Think that's all that was said, but if there's more that the captioning didn't pick up, I'd like to hear it...

FWIW, I think it's pretty obvious from the misdirection attempts and editing that Jerry is the pick. John Paul is by far the better candidate from the editing, but if you watch when Jen kisses any of the guys, the guys all typically make the first move to kiss Jen -- except Jerry. Only with Jerry does Jen sometimes make the first move to kiss. Therefore, when you add in the editing and misdirection, it has to be Jerry that is the alleged "winner."

Boy, what a lame Bachelorette show it's going to be when J-P is left out in the cold, but you can bet that dozens of women are going to be beating down his door in Oklahoma City to get a piece of him after this show -- and most of these women are going to be a more deserving match for him than Jen could be.

Nothing about sticking him, I distinctly heard him say "...2nd" and she definitely said something like "They told me to"

Must be that or your green stuff is just that strong.

Seriously, Jerry doesn't do it for me at all. I like JP better but I'm telling you, he said "don't stick me." I listened to it at least 3 or 4 times. You could always go to the reunion show and ask. That give me gigglepants just picturing it

I think she'll pick Jerry also. I think that the reason she is questioning him so much is because she likes him so much and is afraid of getting hurt again (ie, looking like a fool when it doesn't work out). Also, it seems like she is one of those women who need constant reassurance that they are beautiful and perfect and blah blah blah. That, IMO, is what's up with all the questions for Jerry. She's not questioning JP like that because she knows they are not going to be together. She's just looking for some extra reassurance from Jerry, hoping that it will lessen her chances of looking like a fool.

Syren? she awesome.

I think Jen will pick Jerry after last night's episode. Just right after Jen gave the first rose to JP last night, I thought Jerry was a goner. Because Jen and Ryan had that bubble bath and I thought that means she will be giving Ryan the 2nd rose. But I think the producers edited the show to make up think opposite of what's shown. So right now, they are showing us doubting Jerry's sincerity. And Jen mentioned that JP is so mature and successful. I think it means Jen will pick Jerry.

I DONT KNOW WHY I DO NOT GET THE SAME FEELING YOU GUYS HAVE ABOUT JEN PICKING JERRY (MAYBE IT IS BECASUE I DO NOT WANT HER TO) ALTHOUGH I AM NOT REALLY FOND OF JP. SURE, JEN AND JERRY LOOK GOOD TOGETHER AND THERE NAMES SOUND GREAT TOGETHER, SHE SHOULD HAVE NEVER KICKED RYAN TO THE CURB. JERRY REMINDS ME OF A PLAYBOY. I DO THINK THE PRODUCERS ARE TRYING THERE HARDEST TO THROW US OFF BUT I AM NOT CONVINCED JEN WILL PICK JERRY. I THINK SHE HAS TOO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS IN HER MIND ABOUT HIM.

After seeing last night's show I am convinced (unfortunately) that she will pick John Paul. He gives the impression of being so stable and a self made man. I think that is "false advertising" Lets face it he is only 25 and his parents are rich, rich and I would bet that they have set him up in business. I changed my mind about him on the visit to his parents but last night I returned to my impression that he is a dud. Jerry, on the other hand, is good looking yes but he is much more than that. He is much more honest and tries to say what he thinks whereas JP gives the answers she wants.

John Paul's house is bigger and more impressive than his parents' house, so I don't buy that about his parents being rich and setting him up in a business.

If she does pick Jerry then, IMHO, she was not seriously interested in any of the guys and doesnt want to really get married to any of them..... no way she and Jerry will last..... if she is really looking for a stable, serious, "happily ever after" then she will pick John Paul...if she picks Jerry because he is "cute"..then she will get what she deserves....ANOTHER BREAKUP!....it would be over as soon as Jerry lands his first TV show! She and Jerry have about as much chance of making it as she and Andrew Firestone have of getting back together......right..NONE!

What if we just take for face value all that we have actually seen? What if we ignore rumor? What we have left is two very good looking men.

One man, Jerry, does not really seem all that interested in Jen. Jen is constantly questioning Jerry's intentions. She "says" they have chemistry, but I just don't see it.

Then we have John Paul, who is very interested in Jen. Jen does not question John Paul's intentions, nor his ability to support and love her. I see both their eyes light up when they meet in each episode.

Just look at the facts and what you have seen. Ignore all the smoke screens that people are trying to put up. Ignore the rumors.

I still think this is a no-brainer....John Paul will be Jen's pick.

Could it be MORE obvious??

Ummm, no, it's actually quite a bit more obvious that Jerry is the pick -- Spidey and I both speak from years of experience in watching reality TV show editing, particularly from shows such as Survivor or Amazing Race. We're getting sledgehammered that it's going to be Jerry. Sorry.

I agree she should pick John Paul. He has really grown on me during the last few episodes, and I think he is both stable and sincere. But there's a reason someone as pretty as Jen is still single at age 28. She doesn't pick the right guys. Kind of like Meredith picking Ian instead of that southern guy who had the right intentions. So -- I'm afraid Jem is going to go with chemistry or whatever, perhaps the challenge of trying to figure him out or be the one to make him settle down -- and chose Jerry.

Well, given the track record of these relationships, I would be inclined to agree that they would likely not last.

But who are we to KNOW whether or not there is any possibility it could?

And, more importantly, who cares?

The 2/21 episode is the "Men Tell All" recrap special.
The final episode will be 2/28. I'm sure it's a 2 hour
stretch with an "After the Final Rose" special.

Are you new to message boards? It's considered "shouting"

Although I want John Paul to get the girl, I think Jen will pick Jerry. Wah!

Thanks for the info..no more ALL CAPS. I really think this season went so fast. Dont they usually have the recapo show after the final rose ceremony? Strange.

Yes. I am new to the boards. How do you get the fancy signature lines at the bottom of your message?

If you mean my signature pic, I made that last week, my first
attempt at Photoshop. Might be my last attempt, as I have
no idea what I'm doing. Hee hee.

Most of the time, I find an avatar (small pic) and use
it. I kinda did a combination avatar/signature. I wish
I could make a better one!

If you mean the snarky commentary line under it, there's a
link for HTML tags. Font tag is fun. And I always hit the
Preview button before I post, just to check for errors.

I'd send this to Private Message, but I'm not sure if you're
aware about how to find those.

I clicked the help for the 'font tag' link, and voila!

Two weeks from now. Next week is The Bachelors Tell All.

I am more than prepared to eat said hat if it should come to that. Seriously, how embarrassed can one get on a message board?

But I highly doubt it will come to that.

What makes you so sure she'll pick JP? Clearly, none of these game show constestants shows tremendous judgment, so what makes you think she'd be any different? (That's not to say I think Jerry would be a bad choice. But some of you clearly do.)

"RE: Could it BE more obvious?"
Posted by Kimmyb on 02-16-05 at 07:05 PM
Jen has been through this and I am sure (well, not so sure) she can see the signs of a man that isnt "into her". I just dont see Jerry being so into her but then again, maybe he just does not show is emotions like JP. JP is genuine and you can tell or he is a darn good actor. Jerry on the other hand is being himself and he just seems to be acting. No eating of hats necessary..it really is anyones game.....

"RE: Could it BE more obvious?"
Posted by consise10 on 02-16-05 at 08:27 PM
Kimmyb hello.

Did you think Andrew Firestone was so into Jen when he picked her during his batchelor show? i thought not but because his fantasy drunk contestant couldn`t communicate effectively with him he let her go earlier on in the show.

Remember her, what was her name? The one who on a group date with Firestone got completely plastered as in drunk, and still wasn`t evicted by him.The one who when all of fIrestones friends came on and met all the girls in the competition, chose the drunk as the one most likely to get chosen and suit him.

In my opinion Firestone wasn`t really all that into Jen,so how can you tell if John Paul is only acting, and Jerry doing the same, and even Jen herself acting?

"RE: Could it BE more obvious?"
Posted by Kimmyb on 02-17-05 at 08:10 AM
Points well taken. I just see a bit more sincerity in JP's eyes. I did not like Firestone at all for Jen and thought she was a fool to be with him. To be honest, I dont really see Jen being into either of them like she was into Firestone. I love watching the shows but know alot of it is acting. We should all keep that in mind while trying to pick who is good for who.

"It'll be Jerry..."
Posted by Loree on 02-17-05 at 10:05 AM
It is definitely going to be Jerry. The chemistry is there between him and Jen. John Paul hadn't even kissed her till the home visits. And she was suppose to know which guy she wanted early on. She would not be kissing other guys if John Paul was the one. She acts like she just realized he is a nice guy. But they come off as friends. Where she lights up when she sees Jerry.

And the whole little arguement between Jen and Jerry after the croquet game was just like the way couples bicker. It was the playful type of talk that showed how comfortable they are with each other. She is doing what the show tells her and trying to throw out doubts about her and Jerry. When really it looks like she can't wait to end the show and jump his bones.

I think John Paul is a great catch. But Jen just doesn't have the same chemistry with him. She was attracted to Jerry early on and John Paul never had a chance. So they use the doubts Fabrice threw at Jen about Jerry to try and mislead us. But it will be Jerry that she picks. This one I am sure of.

It will definitely be Jerry.

John Paul looks like Gary Shandling. I don't care how big his house is.

Ryan was really the long-term potential guy, they could communicate. Listening to her and John Paul talk is painfully boring.

With Jerry there's at least some fun and playfulness. Oh, and he's hot.

She wanted to jump him since the 1st time she saw him. Why not? These things rarely end in a real relationship anyway.

I am new to this board, but have been watching the Bachelorette/Bachelor shows consistently since Trista and Ryan. I am terribly hooked on this show for some reason and glad to see other people "into" it!

I, too, believe it will be Jerry. I've felt this way since Day 1. It's been, so, obvious, she's smitten with him. She continually had her doubts about him & said she thought he might be playing her, & yet, she kept giving him a rose. He may be cute, but I don't like him. She's going to find out, she's been right all along.

Meet Jerry, the next bachelor. (After Chris O'Connell, natch.)

Jen wins (with Andrew), then loses.

Jerry wins with Jen, then loses (er- I guess that would depend on how you look at it, I suppose. Personally, I think she's vapid.).

Ya think they can scare up 25 hot young women who want a crack at Jerry and/or tv?

Holy jeez, it's truly endless, isn't it?

Can't believe her decision . . . dumps John Paul for the Player. Then dumps the Player.

Of course, if Andrew Firestone was not good enough for her - no man will ever be.

I can't see how any person can date 25 men and pick one based on the little time they spend together - unless they have other 'dates' that we don't see on TV?

She will wake up and realize she has missed several great men - Andrew and John Paul.
