"Too Much Credit for Anthony's Teammates"

For those of you who have argued that Tony is a lying SOB blah, blah, blah...I would like to point something out. Many of you said that he could have been more upfront with his team, and they would have probably respected his decision and let him choose his destiny. This is NOT the case at all. According to Alfonso's website, some other members of the west (Sergio and Miguel) were open about wanting to choose their own fights.
What the show didn't point out, however, was that the west intentionally lost one of the challenges to prevent one of their own from picking out their desired fight.
Instead it was agreed upon by the powers that be, that Najai would get the chance to call out Sergio. Why Sergio? Because he had confided in one of his "teammates" that Najai was the only fighter he didn't want to face...it was a matchup that scared him.
So instead of respecting his decision, the west plotted behind his back to intentionally lose the challenge so he would HAVE to take the match that he didn't want. Hmm...it seems Tony isn't the only "backstabber" on the show. The fact is they are all in it to win a million bucks, so if there's a chance to eliminate one of the better fighters (like Sergio), they will do whatever it takes to make it happen. This also goes for the Anthony-Jimmy matchup which would have pitted the best remaining fighters against each other in round 1.
Can't wait until next week to watch all the west hypocrites cry about their "teammate" going behind their backs. C'mon...you tried to do the same thing to Sergio!

Sigh, Can we stop starting all these new threads about how great/bad Anthony is?

We talked about this challenge in a previous thread. In fact, Alfonso does NOT say the West threw a challenge. He says that Alfonso and Ishe broached the idea, but nobody else went along with it. The disagreement was not simply that Sergio and Miguel wanted to pick their own fights. It was that they specfically wanted to go for the softer targets that the team had agreed to save for their weaker members, especially Joey, who was going for broke in all the challenges, but who had an injured hamstring, and so they wanted to protect him. In that sense, their position is enirely consistent with the stance they took against Anthony. In fact, if you want to accuse anyone of hypocrisy, it should be Anthony, as he was in the room with Tarick, Alfonso, Sergio, Miguel, and Ishe, and making the same argument as Ishe and Alfonso, although less emphatically. (The video is available on the official website). That said, after seeing that discussion and hearing of Ishe's and Alfonso's plan, that is presumably at least in part the reason Anthony didn't want to reveal his dastardly double-cross before the challenge.
