The premise of the show is great..........but WHY do they get these total jerks to play?? Come on ,if I knew anyone like Howie, I'd bash his damn head in...and "Chilltown" are they kidding? They think they're funny? they think people like them? What a couple of asses,,I would never ever go to a doctor like Will...I don't care if he's the best doc in the world,,,,,he is an inhuman #####. Janelle? She's got extensions and big knockers? Oh yeah, that's not a dime a dozen! She wins challenges and then acts like an idiot jumping around...god, I hope that chick never procreates!
Drop those losers, put PEOPLE on, and more people would watch!

Ok, I'll be the first to touch this one, I guess. I think a common misconception about people on these shows is that they act in this exact same manner when they are outside of the house. In reality, they were ordinary people before they came on this show. They've spent twenty-four hours a day under the watchful eye of these cameras for over two months now, and I don't think any person could say they don't have a bad moment here and there.

In addition, they are put in a very stressful environment, in which they are competing for a large sum of money, so they are prone to extreme behaviors that they would probably not exhibit normally. I can say from my experience that just being away from home, on vacation for instance, I am somewhat of a different person than in my everyday life. There are several people who are members of this very board that have been on reality tv shows and can share their experiences if you're interested.

Now, to address the individual houseguests you're refering to:

• Howie - I thought he was a good competitor and could do good at competitions, but his downfall was taking the game too seriously.
  
• "Chilltown" - Ok, I've never been huge fans of them, but if everyone else was dumb enough to go along with them long enough to let them almost win the game, they have to have something going for them. And I gotta admit, as much as I couldn't stand them, I always thought their phone calls were funny
  
• Janelle - There's plenty of other threads discussing her appearence and why that apparently matters, so I'm not gonna get into that. She is one of the fiercest competitors in BB history, in terms of winning challenges. She did poorly when it came to strategy, though, and was being completely controlled by Will for quite a long time there. She redeemed herself by finally evicting him, though, so she gets a few points for that.
  

Some people like Will go in there and want to make "good tv" or what he thinks may be it. Others go in to "do the right thing" and become very self righteous in the process. Everyone in that house, though, is still human, and nobody, even myself, can speak to how that experience would affect a person until one has experienced it firsthand.
