"Episode #3 general discussion thread"

(As if anyone'll be doing 'as it happens' spoiler posts.) I'm taping this one for a summary, so you won't know most of what I think until after SScott's goes up. I probably won't wind up liking Donna very much, though.

Amanda deserved to leave. She was actually going to miss Donna and called her one of the angels on the island. Amanda was delusional from lack of food or the sun or something. There is no way that Donna is an angel.

Lucifer was an angel.

Just sayin'.

Handcrafted by Rolly - ain't it cool!!

This is scary: Nailbone and I are on the same page. The first-draft line for the summary was 'The editors strategically remove the word 'fallen'.'

I'm writing it now. It doesn't feel like it's going all that well. Not 'worst summary ever' territory, but close. Maybe something funny will occur in the editing.

It'll probably be done by tonight, but I'm not going to post it until after SScott has his up.

The other side of the island just became worse.

What will we complain about now without Evil Donna?

It was kind of funny how many people aren't real anythings in her world.

SMILES ARE FREE

"real?"

HA! She wouldn't know 'real' if it bit her in the silicone.

I feel so bad for Man of a Thousand degrees. I hope we waltzes around in a dress and talks about 'gay sex' every second

Anyone else notice the contradicting footage in the "next episode previews?"

First they show a panning group shot of Skipper, Ginger Nicole, The Millionaire's Wife, Mary Ann Kate, and a short-sleeved Gilligan Goober before a shot of the host saying "congrats to the final seven" -- then they show the evacuation footage (obviously somewhat staged, what with the Skipper pointing the way and all) where Gilligan Chris' long-sleeved Gilligan shirt is clearly visible.

I'd like to see Nicole stick around (she was probably the only reason my friends and I watched "Charlies In Charge" when we were in junior high -- strangely enough I never watched much Baywatch, especially not in the years when she was on the show) but based on both TBS's big initial PR announcement that Rachel Hunter was Ginger and Nicole's press comments that she didn't do too well in the game (although that could be misdirection) I think Gilligan Chris and Ginger Rachel will become the last two members of the Final 7.

I did notice the editing and thought to myself that it looked strange. It was almost like they were editing it so much that the general viewer could/would catch it.

Nicole cracked me up a couple of times when she was talking with Donna. It was clear to me that Nicole was trying to be nice and talk to Donna but Donna would not let her. I was rolling on the floor when Donna was talking about her firends having Donna withdrawals! Hell, her friends miss the arguments!

So, is next week the ending? Did they only have 4 episodes or will it go six?

I believe I heard this is an 8 episode show...

At the current pace they will have the final 7 on next Wednesday's show.

I wonder if they are going to have the final 7 competing with themselves to get off the island.

Gotta be. Otherwise, it's Game Over halfway through the next episode.

The pacing is weird on this series. Looks like we got our Fast Motion after all: five minutes of Lovey Donna complaining, somebody goes off, five minutes of Gilligan Chris trying to advance his romantic prospects, someone goes off...

It'll end the pain more quickly for the Greens, at least. They're suffering from severe Pagonging right now.

I just confirmed with TBS's PR folks, it is indeed 8 episodes, with 3 having aired so far.

They seem to keep pointing out that Ginger Nicole is sick. My guess is that she is too weak to win. But then the challenge is a swimming and diving challenge. Being on Baywatch she should be good in the water. Although it is mentioned that Ginger Rachel is one of the strongest competitors there. So I would surmise that Nicole is weaker than Rachel from lack of food and loses the challenge.

I expect you are right about Ginger Rachel, she's gotten a lot of sympathetic editing. I hope you're wrong about Gilligan Chris, I'm really not interested in seeing Boston Chris woo Amber Kate throughout the rest of the series.

Anyway.... does anyone .... have anything I.... I can take.... for for..... for these..... Donna withdrawals?!!

I was sort of hoping the relationship would blossom...it is going to get boring if nothing like that is going on!

I have some Immodium for Donna to take!

Posted by batts on 12-03-04 at 05:22 PM
A prescription of Preperation H for Donna, and a prescription of rubber wading boots for the rest of us, since it seems we are knee deep in ... whatever shes so full of, and slingin out her mouth. ...
"cause we're the REAL people"
"well, I'm already livin with some snakes"
"I love to cook"..... (only cooks once a year)
"I could start a million things that you dont know how to do"
"Amanda just topped off 2 cups that were already full anyway,
cause she was already done, she was the real winner"
"All of this is goin out the windows"
"Winners lose"
"In my opinion, the classy millionaires lost today"

And what about starvin Marvins I mean Gooner gilligans language quality when he was turning into bones in his hut, poor guy was in a nasty mood till they went on what looked like a 'Easter egg hunt' searching for kiwis in bushes lol.......

What did he give his vital statistics as during the next episode preview? 6'7", 130lbs? Migawd. That's enough to get him adopted by Sally Struthers. And he has a very -- mobile face. That's the best way to put it. Anything else and the words just fall apart in your hands.

LOL batts! You should start a thresd of the stewpid things Donna said!

Estee...yep he said he was 6'7" but I don't remember his weight. Whatever his weight...he needs to gain some!

I think he said 130 -- but unlike the rest of the episode, I didn't play that part multiple times to catch exact quotes. Trying to get multiple exact quotes on Darling Donna was painful enough, thank you much.

I feel sorry for SurvivorScott. I only had to do the slow-motion routine for one hour of tape. He's got two...
and the Beavens are there for all of it. Gah.

Just wanted to chime in with my favorite part of the show (yes, I'm still watching even though yesterday I said I wouldn't. What else can I watch on Wednesday night?). I'm not sure if Gilligan Goober was really sick or not, if he wasn't, I commend him. If I ever have the pleasure of meeting Rachel Hunter, I will definately fake a stomach ache so that I can have her nurse me back to health. I noticed Goober bounced back after that pretty quickly. That Rachel Hunter must have some sweet "Medicine"!

Actually though, that wasn't my favorite part. My real favorite is everytime we get a shot of Mary Ann Kate from behind wearing those shorts. Man they are short!!!! Short! Did I mention they are short?!

"Evil" Dr. Will: Reality Show Legend!

Well this is a show that I watch with secret shame. Along with "Are You Hot?" (The show that first brought Kevin P to our attention... and I actually know that!)

I still even cannot admit that out loud. I really hope they have some type of rehab for reality addicts and soon!

But I watch for two reasons... Rachel Hunter and Rachel Hunter. Although the millionaire Stearns are quite the pair also.

But there is something uber sexy mama about Rachel and she is just a very loving woman. She also isn't skeletal thin which makes her even hotter. Why did Rod dump her? He is NUTS!

But Gilligan Gooner - I don't know about why he is there, Biafra babies have more flesh. Plus he is missing a few on the coconut IQ scale.

As for this show - it has no purpose or even point that I can find.. but then again this is Mike Fleiss the creator of the Bachelor and the aforementioned - Are you Hot? It needs no point.
