"Alex booted from Joe Aftermath" interview as well!"

Posted by SurvivorBlows on 02-24-03 at 09:39 PM
LAST EDITED ON 02-24-03 AT 09:40 PM (EST)

Now this is funny... the former Temptation Island producers who are behind Joe Millionaire apparently completely gave up on Alex and brought their host from Temptation Island, Mark Wahberg, in to interview Evan instead!

...now that's gotta be the final insult, hah!

I had forgotten all about Alex.

This show didn't make sense. How could these women sit and watch the final show and not know the result when they are actually on that show saying their opinion of Evan not being rich? And Melissa was at the chateau with Sara after she was dumped. So she knew. This was such a set-up. At first I thought they were just being shown an early viewing of the final show so they could see it and have their reactions taped. Then I remembered Mojo said in an interview that she didn't know he was a phony until she was home and heard the ads for the show Joe Millionaire. So the girls already knew when they were watching this show how it ended but they made them look all surprised. Whatever.

I noticed that when Mark asked Zora if Sarah was upset about Zora getting the money, she said "she probably will be" as if Sarah didn't know yet. I wonder when this interview was shot filmed.

Zora was on Regis this morning and said that the interview was filmed last week.

Too true Webby! On a similar note, I came across this interview of Alex McLeod in the 2/28/03 issue of Entertainment Weekly that seems to fit well on this thread.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS WOMAN?

The MIA 'Joe Millionaire' Host Says That Every McLeod Has a Silver Lining

While Joe Millionaire and his harem of heir seekers have logged their 15 minutes of fame, "host" Alex McLeod didn't even come close. In the six episodes leading up to the Fox hit's finale, she barely mustered five minutes of screen time--total. That's less than she got in any given episode of TLC's Tedaing Spaces (she fronted the program in its early days)--and certainly less than butler, Paul Hogan. Below, we uncover four things you didn't know about the Host That time Forgot.

1) SHE HAS BUTLER ENVY.
"'The Eliminator' was my nickname on the set. I had no idea that would be my only role on the show," says McLeod, who generally appeared out of nowhere to introduce the weekly necklace cermonies (average length: 59 words). "The way they produced my role was a bit stilted. The butler and I could have been a great duo. His fireside chats were Masterpiece Theatre rip-offs---I mean, parodies." Still, McLeod says she'd do it all again, under one condition: "I'd like to play a French chambermaid next time."

2) YES, SHE CHOSE HER OWN WARDROBE.
And yes, she knows the flowing skirts and froofy layers were tres frumpy. "The producers wanted it to be very 'lady of the manor,'" she says, adding, "It was really cold, and I don't have a lot of body fat."

3) SHE DIDN'T FEEL THAT GUILTY ABOUT BEING IN ON THE BIG LIE.
When McLeod first met the women and had to tell them their Joe was a millionaire, she freaked. But eventually she decided Evan's contenders didn't have such a bad deal. They were living in a chateau and hitting French hot spots while McLeod was stuck at a nearby hotel. "They had a private butler, private chef, private plane. What in the world is there to b!tch about?"

4) SHE STILL HAS SOME DIGNITY.
McLeod, who's now working on a travel show for A&E, would never put herself on the wrong side of a necklace ceremony. "There's no way in hell I'd ever be a contestant on a reality show".

She probably threw a fit when she saw that she had such little screen time.

Well, if anyone can beat ol' Marky for the "Isn't that the sweetest thing?" look, I dunno who it is.

Yes, I noticed Alex was missing (and got no "host" credit in the end, that went to Marky), and it didn't surprise me.

Clearly there was a pretty big rift between Alex and the producers, for them to cut her out the show so completely, and in some cases to edit in Paul as if were there saying something.

Oh well, her loss.

Yeah, she must hav pitched some kind of "I am the star of this show bitchy fit" for them to go to the lengths that they did to cut her out.

I noticed several times that when the girls were being called down for dates and things like that, they showed a shot of the girl and had Paul's voice overdubbed...it was very obvious that Alex was there in the orginal shot.

Cheer up Alex.....after a humiliation like that, you qualify for season 2 of the Surreal Life!!!
