Looks good so far. I'm posting during commercials. Anyone else watching? Doc? Fooner (Mr. or Mrs.)?

I agree, looks like a great show! Pene and I both watched it and thought it was a pretty good concept.

LOL at the "Crafty Beavers" team name... but they sure can flat out decorate.

missygirl3 and the family{(my two cats =)} are hooked. This is going to be so good. I love it when a reality show has a fight on the first episode.Anyone want to post their loves and hates yet? Let me get in more episode before I make that post.

I watched this with a room full of people. We all laughed and had a great time watching this. This is going to be interesting.

I like! The only thing that got to me was the stupid Crafty Beavers name, but the rest of the show was fine by me. I'll keep watching.

You know the difference between you and me? I make this look good.

"How come?"
Posted by ARnutz on 01-07-05 at 07:34 AM
...when Tom was giving his speech at the end as to why he should stay, I kept thinking "He's pulling a Bradford"?

I really liked him up until the arrogance showed through by his stating how that team needs him.

The crafty beavers set up was far superior!

Icey bounced me!

Well I missed about 20 minutes there in the middle due to a phone call. But I'm loving it.

Yes, I am hooked! I'm so glad that Tom got the boot last night because I like Kimberly (that, and she looks like Genevieve Gorder). I think Team Artisan (stoopid name for the team) will do well now without Tom. Mychael shouldn't have gone to bed, though.

"RE: Crafty Beaver!"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 01-07-05 at 10:08 AM
No kidding. Mychael is begging to be kicked out the next time she is one of the two up for explusion -- but will she ever turn out a bad meal? Gourmet cooking is pretty hard to screw up on a visual basis.

There's always hope for sabotage, such as someone opening the oven door while a souffle is in there!

I watched it and will continue to do so. I like the mixed team/individual tasks - that will create more conflict as the time goes along. I was surprised how little time each team seemed to spend on their individual projects.

Glad to see Tom go, I would have gotten tired of his act really quickly.

I was surprised how little time each team seemed to spend on their individual projects.

Oh, I think that's going to change. Before, folks were just motivated on keeping their team from having to vote. But once Joanie handed over the keys to that truck for the best individual project, you saw the minds churning. Knowing that in addition to immunity there's the chance for a splendiforous prize will motivate folks to spend more time on their stuff.

Besides, the wicked side of me thinks that if I make someone else do more work on the group project, they'll have a greater likelihood of having their individual project in the bottom two than I would.

You know the difference between you and me? I make this look good.

Let's see if the Beavers can force Mychael to dig in more on the team project the next go-around and spend less on her own project -- she sure didn't win too many friends for sleeping thru the night and asking the others to wake her up at 6 am when all of the others were slaving through the night!

"Mychael"
Posted by lovwigglesworth on 01-07-05 at 01:07 PM
Mychael did more things and has hundreds of recipies in her head that will win any food competition for this team hands down. It seemed to me she was able to do more and still get some sleep than the other team mates. I like her and I think her team realizes what a good asset she is, they were just trying to create more drama than there really was with the whole sleeping thing.

"RE: Mychael"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 01-07-05 at 01:19 PM
Still, I think you should make an effort to work together with your teammates -- if the other five aren't done with their team project, shouldn't you stick around and help them, make yourself that much more indispensible?

As it turned out, the table display was done by the other teammates and that was what seemed to wow the judges more than anything else, although they did single out Mychael for her cooking.

If you go to the CBS website, it lists some of the things that the people made (and how to make them), and it looks as if Mychael did a lot, but then there's a lot of other stuff that isn't there.

I am on the fence about this show and mostly because the judges.

David Evangelista? Please tell me I am not the only one who remembers this idiot as Rosie O'Donnel's hairdresser. When did he go from burning hair to all important stylist to the stars? And why does he remind me of that other freak - Robert Verdi? Oh yes, that's right they are both bald and gay and Italian.

Candice Bushnell. Good to see that those outfits Carrie wore on SATC weren't exaggerated.

Bobbie Flay. Can this guy be more overexposed? Perhaps they could devise a secret ingrediant on Iron Chef that will kill or at least maim this idiot.

"RE: Wickedly Perfect Episode 1"
Posted by volsfan on 01-07-05 at 07:08 PM
I think you have to look at the relationship these people have with CBS.

Evangelista absolutely cracks me up. He makes me LOL!

Flay? Other than being on the Food Network and The Early Show how is he overexposed?

Bushnell? I am not sure of her relationship with CBS but I am sure someone knows.

"RE: Wickedly Perfect Episode 1"
Posted by RangeRover on 01-07-05 at 07:51 PM
Evangelista is this year's Steven Cojacaru... annoying and even more annoying. Sorry the guy does nothing for me.

Flay makes Emeril look low key. He has about 4 ongoing shows on the Food Network, he is on any show that will have him not just the early show. He is whoring those crapfest restaurants of his all over with a new one in Vegas. People I know in the food industry hate his guts and think Rocco is a better chef. And that is saying something. I have nothing good to say about Flay....oooh that rhymes!!!

I just think I will have to wait and see before I go nutso over this show.. I ended up sticking with the Rebel Billionaire and Gilligan's Island for no reason and now I am watching the worst show ever, The Club, have found I am obsessed with Dog, the Bounty Hunter. So maybe I am just overloaded on reality right now and need some fantasy...ohhhh yea Ceasars 24/7 starts next week!!

"RE: Wickedly Perfect Episode 1"
Posted by volsfan on 01-07-05 at 11:14 PM
Well, I watch the Food Network on a regular basis and I think Flay having 4 ongoing shows is not accurate. What are the four shows? I can think of Boy meets grill and Foodnation. Are there others? Bobby's own bio on the web site doesn't have 4 shows that he has, it has 3 and one of them isn't even current. The three referenced is Hot Off the Grill with Bobby Flay (not current), FoodNation, and Boy Meets Grill. Emeril is the Food Network's star period...not Bobby Flay! IMHO

I don't think this show is going to go any where close to the depths of Gilligan's Island...that show was pathetic and a rip-off. This show has it's own agenda. I think it is different and worth watching.

BTW...I will not watch Ceasars 24/7! URGH!

He is also going to be one of the Iron Chefs and I think he has another BBQ show (or that might have been a number of specials).

Personally, I would take Bobby Flay over Emeril anytime.

I really liked this show! The opening credits and music, the gorgeous house and the shots of people walking out onto to the lawn all remind me of Mad, Mad House--all that's missing is a vampire. And looking at this group, that remains a possibility.

I thought Joan Lunden did a pretty good job hosting. Is this a huge tumble down the food chain for her? Or did she do this on purpose? Also, from a few angles she looks like a wax effigy of her former self.

I have one other beef. Could they have found a group of women with more annoying, whiney voices than these? They make fingernails on chalkboard sound sweet.

Edited because all sentences deserve a verb.

OOoOoo I concure. At first i liked Darlene....then as the show went on, and she was so dramatic during the judging..that liking kind of ebbed. But then when she told off that idiot Tom, my darlene meter shot right back up! LOL

This show is awesome.

I wasnt' expecting to either, but I enjoyed this show for all of the same reasons I like most reality tv. The only think I would like to see, is more of how they make things, and more of the finished projects. The are spending all of the air time on snarking and plotting, and very little on the creative aspects of the show. I know the competition is the whole point, but I'd like to be more of a judge, and I can't do that with just a passing shot of the finished product.

true, you hit it on the head. I would like to see more of the creative process and how they come up with their projects, than the sniping and fighting.

I'm hooked. I wasn't sure I would like this show, but I really enjoyed the first episode.

Even though his presentation of the soup was crappy, and it didn't taste very good, Tom might have been able to convince the others to keep him for his leadership and planning skills. Unfortunately, he killed any chance he had of staying with that pompous speech he made at the end. He really shot himself in the foot.

I loved the assignment with all of those apples. The apple invitation did look amazing! I'm glad she won the vehicle for that project.
