"Is the Paris Hilton Sex Tape a Plot by Fox to hype The Simple LIfe?"

This is pure conspiracy theory fantasy/speculation, but it would be a hoot if Fox was responsible or had a hand in the release of the Paris Hilton sex tape. The reason...hype ratings for their low rent reality show The Simple Life. You know that many folks will tune to get a look at the newest entry in the "celeberity sex tape" category.

Naah, Devious Weasel's seen it. And the guy in it is suing the Hiltons because they blamed him for its being proliferated on the web.

The timing is fortuitous for the show, though.

I realize, somewhat belatedly, that the best comeback would have been: "Seen it? I was in it!"

This sex tape business is getting stranger all the time. Her parents are having a fit, but Fox must be clapping their hands with glee over the latest....lesbian sex tapes....oh boy!!! You know that people who have no interest will tune in at least once to see what this ho is all about.

I don't think FOX had anything to do with it (and I do believe Salomon did) but I'm sure FOX isn't too upset over it. Hell, they've gotten more pub for the show out of this, than they would out of the Letterman-Leno-etc. pre-show publicity circuit that Paris is now pulling out of:

...and regardless, after hearing about this show since May, I've had no doubt it was going to be very popular anyways.

FOX's only regret (even before the tape hit) is that they only have six episodes. If you thought "tuna or chicken" was funny, just wait, because Jessica Simpson has nothing on these two...
