I'm starting a new thread to deal with the next 5 hours beginning with last night's episode.Jack was Jack last night - good to see he hasn't lost his touch in extracting information! I always liked Aaron - good to see he can think a bit on his own and take action based on that even if protocal didn't dictate what he did.
And, I'm curious about the look on Martha Logans face in the preview - did that forshadow some provocative action on her part?

(I'm copying this mornings post by Bawdy as it relates to the future and should be under this thread)At the end of last night's previews- Jack goes to a penthouse- presumably something to do with the terrorists- and you see someone hiding behind the bed. To me it looked like someone with short dark hair- like a guy. Jack says something like- get your
hands up- who are you? Anyway- lots of speculation on some other sites about who that is. Rumors are: Nina (not really dead), Sherry (not really dead), Mandy, Kim with dark hair, even Jack's dead wife Terri.some spoilers below- (hidden text) according to IMDB Elisha Cuthbert is back for 4 episodes of 24 starting with hour 1:00-2:00 which would be next week. Possibly the "guy" hiding behind the bed is Kim's boyfriend and Kim will walk
in and be suprised to find that Jack is still alive.

Martha Logan is going to be up to someting- no doubt!
Jean Smart is playing such a great character.
Ugh! I hate President Logan so much! What a wimp!
I love the way Bill Buchanan is bossing Lyn (the hobbit) around!

Not feelin the hobbit on my end. Will he be around for the whole season? Yikes, maybe we'll get lucky and the new CTU Mole will off him.

Mr. President should be strung up by his testicles with dental floss...
I loved this episode! You are right, Sittem...Jack is back! So happy Secret Service Agent Pierce came through, I knew he would. I cheered when President "I am a big stupid head tool" Logan told him to do his job and he looked at him and said "I am". Love Aaron. The look on Jack's face as the President was trying to explain away everything was priceless. Jack said nothing, but his look said "You are a moronic idiot tool". Or at least that is what I was saying.Jean Smart is awesome. Her performance in the first 6 episodes alone deserve big awards.
My first thought when we saw the preview with the person hiding behind the bed was it is Sherry Palmer, but I could be wrong. Heck, I'm sure I'm wrong.

It's an Arkie.
Hopefully this show doesn't resort to bringing people back from the dead.I think it's Mandy -- the girl from season one who attempted to take Palmer's life at the end of season two then faked Tony's death in season four.

...there is a spoiler source that never seems to be wrong who claims that it isn't who the woman is that shocks Jack, but rather what she does......which seems to imply that what she does is shoot the terrorist that Jack is capturing, similar to the female Palmer aide Elizabeth Nash in Season 1, who stabbed Alexis Drazen even though Jack had told her that Jack intended to follow him to his brother.
Soylent Green: recycling America, one person at a time.
Wasn't Mandy captured last season?
remember last season Erin Driscoll and her cuckoo daughter?
we this season we have Lyn McGill
(hidden text below)Turns out Lyn McGill has a crackhead sister that wants to get money off of him. She ends up meeting him outside CTU and her boyfriend robs Lyn and takes his CTU keycard.

This may be common knowledge, as I haven't been following spoilers, but I get the impression that Lyn and the boss man may be related. Father and Son maybe? I know they have different last names, but there is something very familiar between them.
Haven't heard anything spoilerish regarding Lyn and Bill, but they do seem to know each other previously.

Yeah, I think that much is obvious, I just think it's more than that. It'll be interesting to see where it goes.
...good to see he hasn't lost his touch in extracting information...Jack's the only character who can make me yell "Cut his eye out!" from across the room.
I have used "Cut his eye out!" on at least 3 additional occasions while watching tv/movies this week. It's my new "Boo! Hiss!".
Thanks Jack!

Incessant Ramblings of a Cyber-delic HippyThanks Webby, for the Jack Bauer Power Hour forum. Finally! A show I watch! YAY!
I always hope they'll cut off a limb. These clowns break way too easily ^__^

Edgar Stiles: Maybe it's a delayed reaction kinda thing. Maybe you'll freak out about it in a few days.
Chloe: I hope so.
Lvoe your sig pic, J Slice!Whenever my friend (who adores "24") calls, I answer the phone: "Edguh Thtylth?"
And I can't believe I hated Chloe at first. She's the freakin' best.

It took me through the third season to realize how freaking great Chloe is.And Edgar? he's just about the best thing this show's had in a couple years. There aren't NEARLY enough fat nerdy guys on tv. He reminds me of an amalgam of my high school friends ^__^

Atleast, according to DH. He kept looking at scowling sarcastic Chloe and looking at me, "That's exactly how you look and sound! You think everyone around you are idiots and should be treated as such."*shrug* I can't help it, if everyone around me are idiots. *grin*
OK- so Jack is reinstated, Martha slapped Logan, Walt hung himself, Lyn got robbed by his sister, and the Russian girl shot Rossler. No one is back from the dead and no Kim (yet). So now Jack has to pretend to be Rossler? Time for a fake accent? Undoubtably Martha Logan is up to something- I hope she turns out to be a Sherry Palmer type! I loved the little smirk from Edgar when Spencer was taken away at the end by security.

The show is getting a little too predictable for me. The head of CTU has family problems--again. The key bad guy whom they need to keep alive is killed--again. Seriously, it was so cliché to have the captive kill her captor--I could see it coming a mile away.

And in the next episode, Tony will be recovered from surgery (nearly instantaneously, naturally; he DID survive being shot in the neck), only to fall victim to Kim, who is holding a mountain lion hostage in exchange for presidential immunity granted by the zombie of Sherry Palmer, who actually shot David Palmer posthumously.... right?

And let us not forget what will become "Walt's Famous Feat" of managing to be left alone long enough, in a hallway, to actually hang himself from his belt, which was attached to the water sprinkler fixture. Guess he wasn't as heavy as he looked.

Sharks, did someone mention sharks?
LAST EDITED ON 02-08-06 AT 10:01 AM (EST)I think Mike killed Walt to protect the presidency.

And then Lyn screws up and gives the bastige immunity. What is Martha Logan up to? Is she actually undercutting prezzy with his apology to get back at him? Will Mike stop it? Was her mental illness all manipulation by Walt? Her restoration was awfully sudden. What more are we going to see from her?
Girl. Gun. Shoot. Kill. Really, really implausible. Why wait to shoot him at that moment? At age 15 she can't be more than what she's portraying, can she? Did she shoot him to keep the terrorists from getting trapped? I don't see that, but who knows how far into the mine they'll go to extract some nugget.
Is Jack good at accents? Guess we'll see.

and where the fvck did she get the gun?
Moves courtesy of Syren
When I first saw the girl, I thought she gave the bruises to herself, and that she was just trying to trick Jack into thinking she was a hostage. Now that she shot him (where the heck did she get access to a gun?!?) I think I could be right. If she's really one of the baddies, she could have shot him to keep Jack from using him to find the other baddies.
That's a cool theory, true, and not all that "kookie". I was kinda wary of her at first, but it went away when I found out the whole story. Still, you gotta wonder about why she had a gun? It would be the perfect ploy to stay undercover. I'd be pleased if the writers wrote it that way because I was a little underwhelmed with this week's episode.I didn't really like Lynn getting mugged. Not because I like him all that much, but mostly because it seems kinda cheap.
![]()
How cheap will it be when the terrorists kidnap her and use her to blackmail Lynn? You just have to see that one coming, don't you?
