Discuss here.

Skating couple Jillian Barberie & John Zimmerman. She was a co-host on Good Day Live (I miss her!) and Extreme Dating and was also on Fox NFL pregame and VH1 and many, many guest spots on other tv shows. She works for animal rights.

John was paired with Kyoko Ina, representing the US and won the Bronze at World in 2002. More importantly, don't get your hopes up, as he married an Italian skater in 2003. He supports Make-A-Wish Fdn and has modeled and appeared on "Queer Eye FTSG".

I love them together. Maybe cuz they look alike. I think they will make it far, as she skated when she was younger and seems determined to push herself harder. Dorothy Hamill said that this could be another career for Jillian.

I'm a retired skater. My coach was a stickler for technique. When I coach, I am also a stickler for technique.

Ugh. Her technique is awful. She's far better than anyone else in the competition, but I've coached 8 year olds with better technique.

She's too intent on trying stuff that she shouldn't be trying (but then again, that's what this competition is about) to realize that she'd not going to be able to land a jump until she starts checking her arms, and she's not going to be able to do any basic moves until she gets her free leg under control. More importantly, if she continues to try Axels without checking or any control, there's a very strong potential for her to get hurt.

Honestly, I'd rather watch Bruce and Tai than Jillian and John because at least you can see that Bruce is working on technique, whereas Jillian can just have John lift her up and call it good.

She's Canadian??? Isn't that kinda like stacking the competition with a ringer? Don't some Canadian kids skate before they walk?

Actually Jillian used to be a professional figure skater in Canada years ago so I dont think she's trying things she shouldn't, she just needs to clean off the rust and she'll be fine...

I forgot Jon Zimmerman was the guy at ther 02 Olympics (I think he and Kyoko were robbed when that Russian couple out scored them! Boooo still upset with that lol)

I love Jillian too and I MISS GOOD DAY LIVE! Why did they replace she and Lucy towards the end of the show? I wish they'd bring the show back

Do you have a source for this? The only information that I can find on her previous skating experience says that she stopped at age 15. I skated in the US, so I don't have access to official Canadian information, so you could be correct, but from my skating and coaching experience, it doesn't look like she was ever at anything much above USFSA juvenile freestyle, which is nowhere near professional. Anything above that shouldn't have too much trouble at least showing proper air position in jumps and proper technique in basic stroking and moves in the field and such, even after a long amount of time off.

Celebrity Jillian Barberie, apparently the most experienced skater on the show, says her skating days really end when she was a teen in Canada. (She tells us three times that she's 39.) And pairs skating, which is what the show is all about, is much different, she says.

"I mean, for me, skating as a kid in Canada, I never pair-skated," she says. "I never had a guy lift me over his head like that - on the ice, at least."

If you have information that says otherwise, I'd really like to see it. Like I said, I don't have access to Canadian records, so I can't put an actual test level on her skating; I can only go by my experience and what I see.

I want Bruce and Tai to take the win. Jillian has an unfair advantage over others, but still Bruce and Tai looked awesome.

Good Day Live was previously Good Day L.A., and then it went back to Good Day L.A. Jillian and Lucy are still on Good Day L.A. - basically, the Fox network's morning news in Los Angeles.

When it was Good Day Live, it was the same show that we get in California, just broadcast nationally.

If you're really missing her morning (t)wit, I'm sure they are available somewhere.

Well hot dayum! I'll check it out. I thought I read somewhere that the show was completely ending.

I think she's adorable. A little over-amped but that's ok.

I really felt for Jillian tonight. She didn't bring up her injury, just went out there and did it. I agree about the emotional connection. She was probably terrified of injuring herself further and then having to deal with being booted and recuperating from a deeper injury.

In the cameo beforehand, it was interesting to see her be so different than her usual persona. I really like her. She's a keeper.


I don't know whether to root for her or Deborah, I like them both

Jillian should stop showing off already. She is going to really get hurt. She can win this but she should chill and listen to the experts. Ya Jillian we know you skated till you were a teen and it's all coming back to you now but chill out a little, are you even having fun yet.jeeeeeezzzz
