"Skating with Celebrities"

I'm not sure how I feel about this one.I mean pairs skating is dangerous enough if you do anything at all cool with it that I think it would be like watching NASCAR to see the wrecks.

Given some of the stars involved I think the chances of serious injury may be pretty high.

I'm excited to see the skating, but not to see people get hurt. I hope they found a way to keep people fairly safe. I agree that it seems dangerous.

This thing is sounding more and more like a train wreak waiting to happen. I hate Dave Coulier, but, it might be kinda funny to see him fall on his arse without it being scripted.

dave actually plays hockey a lot so there is some experience there. I was so looking forward to not seeing this, then they went and put my crush Deborah Gibson on it.

If Bruce Jenner skidded across a hundred yards of ice on his face, suffering a horrible disfiguring accident -- would anyone be able to tell?

LAST EDITED ON 01-19-06 AT 01:17 PM (EST)Lol estee, he hasn't aged gracefully has he lmao. I really enjoyed the show and didn't think I would. I had no choice but to watch it because my boyfried only gets channel 13(he doesn't watch alot of tv) so I watched. I hope someone doesn't get hurt too badly although for enough money I would probably try my hand at iceskating. I competed as a child and teenager in Rollerskating competitions and that is hard enough!!!!!
I am looking forward to watching every week now and reading everyones posts

The only thing funnier than Todd Bridges on ice skates would be Gary Coleman in a dunking contest.Wait. Todd Bridges on ice skates is still funnier.

I missed the first one..
Defintiely a recipe for disaster here. They showed a nasty cut on one of the skaters faces in a preview. I agree with the nascar referrence.. that's exactly what I think they're hoping for!
I love skating so much. It's my favorite olympic sport to watch and I think this show is going to be pretty funny to watch. It seems like such a big risk for everyone involved, though.

I watched, didn't expect to watch but I did. It wasn't too bad, not the most entertaining, but it had it's cute moments and the skating wasn't all that bad. I am with the poster of this thread, ice-skating is dangerous if not done right and considering the small amount of time these people have doesn't really go over the safety basics. I know that the sports caster or whatever she is raised some concerns from both her partner and trainer, she was thinking more about getting it done and wowing the judges more on pacing herself and doing it with safety in mind. I admire her persistence on wanting to do well, but she is a serious accident waiting to happen to both herself and partner.
As far as Dave, well the hockey experience definately gives him an edge on at least knowing how to stop and maybe how to fall without killing himself but I felt he should have listened and kept the toepicks on, if the pros felt uncomfortable with his decision then it's for good reason and he should have thought of that.
Todd, well he had heart, he was clumsy on ice and I don't predict anyone asking him to do too many big stunts, at least I would hope not.
Debbie and the Olympic guy seemed to do ok, although the guy might want to be more careful considering his knee issues.
As for Kristy well I missed her performance so I don't really know anything to make a comment on.
All in all I hope these people are careful and don't try to push themselves overboard and I also hope the producers don't expect them to go to the point where they could seriously get hurt. They are too inexperienced to do major tricks, should something happen they may not think quick enough or even know how to fall like the pros.

I predict Deborah Gibson and Kurt Browning for the win. Easy on the eyes, easy on the brain, better than decent skating skills.
