"Please, No More Superhead!"

Can anyone please tell me exactly what about using your mouth as a human garbage can, keeping notes about being a HO and writing about HOin through a ghost writer makes Superhead a woman of honor?

Don’t get played! The only “cautionary tale” involving Karrine Steffans, aka “Superhead,”should be directed to casting directors and media outlets that provide legitimate forums for Superhead's cries of objectification and marginalization while she continues to promote the negative images that perpetuate the objectification and marginalization of women. Mentioning Superhead's name in the context of women who are truly Starting Over is insulting.

While promoting dialogue on any subject is always constructive, lending respectability and credibility to Superhead without questioning her motives and behavior is not.

Visitors to Superhead's website are greeted by a sexually suggestive photo of her all decked out in fake hair, fake nails and fake breasts with a telephone cord wrapped around her neck simulating a dog collar. Superhead's demeanor and her "honor" varies greatly depending on her audience.

Superhead markets her "Girl's Club" as a peer advice club for young women and girls. Most disturbingly, Superhead uses group posts to direct members of her "Girl's Club" to her Mysace sites. Until recently, Superhead's Myspace sites (now private) provided links to her business ventures, Vamp and Vixen, Inc. and “The Steffans’ Agency and Its Beck and Call Girls.” Honorable?

The Steffans’ Agency provides “private temporary staffing” to its clientele. Employment applicants must be female, between 18 and 25, submit head and body shots and be hand picked by Superhead. What is so honorable about going from HO to Madam?

Superhead, like everyone, deserves the benefit of the doubt. Nonetheless, her current and recent statements and behavior indicate that she is a predator who perpetuates the objectification and marginalization of women.

Karrine says that she created the "Superhead" legend with her "blood, sweat and tears...and spit.” She earned her name and reputation; now let's move on. Superhead is on the fourteenth of her fifteen minutes. Don’t prolong it! Superhead's act belongs in mens' magazines, not on a show about women who are Starting Over.

That last line might be the most repulsive thing I've read in quite a while.

Welcome to the site Suzette. Great post!

You articulated your question so well that I wish there was an answer that could satisy it. There is, of course, nothing honorable about being an oral receptacle for a hot and bothered hip-hop star on the prowl, and it is beyond dishonorable - it's just repugnant - to take and keep notes on "how you did who you did". I'm not surprised that the real author is a ghost - I wouldn't want the credit for that trash either.

What occasion did you have to run across Iyanla's favorite hypocrite? Are the SO reruns at the point of introducing Christina to her new "mentor", Karinne Steffans?

While I remember that episode vividly, and Iyanla's "fallen woman rises triumphantly from the ashes" introduction, I don't recall Iyanla ever sharing that this "escort" also encouraged other women to join her prostitution ring. "The Beck and Call Agency"? Hmmm.....such an easy name to remember. How did Iyanla forget to share that bit of background with the viewers? If ever there existed a clear example of wrong being called right - that was the day we saw it on television.

I have no idea what Karinne is doing as far as her career is concerned...and I use the word "career" loosely...although I suspect it does have something to do with prostitution in some form. I've read accounts of her recent talk show "gigs" in which she appears to be debuting the new and conservative, feminine Superhead, the woman who has had an epiphany of mammoth proportions. All she wants to do now is help young girls! Help them what? Stay out of the territory in which she's staked a claim? Did you say "predator", suzette? Well, that's the word I had in mind as well. Ladies, keep this predator away from your daughters -- she has nothing to offer them besides explicit instruction in the sexual techniques that earned her the title of "Superhead".

I saw her website recently. It is exactly as suzette described. If anyone doubts that Karinne has not shed her "Superhead" persona, just take a look at that cyber-calling card.

Great post, indeed. Welcome Suzette. Just another reason to think Starting Over is nothing but a fraudulant piece of steaming sh!t. This woman, Karinne Steffans is nothing more than a high price whore to ultra rich celebrities.....is this who IV hangs out with? There is nothing honorable about "doing" your way to the top. No respect....no dignity....no self esteem....no integrity....etc., well you get my point.....and the ONLY way she could help other girls is to stay away from them. Enough said, cuz SR said it sooo much better than I did.

She has a knack for doing that.

and I ROTFLMAO! I started picturing her adding wax to the hive, and that was HILARIOUS! *nothin' like her post bringing up thoughts of the Animal Kingdom! That's when you KNOW you have a WINNER! *not*

I find it ironic that this is the type of person IV picked for Christina to have as a possible role model. Gee wasn'ty IV the same person who said how hard it is to get a stripper off the pole? Maybe she realized Christina would always be what she has been-a lazy, no talent, con artist-so why hook her up with anyone who has higher aspirations than Steffans. When this show forst aired it wasn't long after that Steffans was on one of the shows on MSNBC or somethign like that talking about being way over her head in debt. I laughed about it then since it was Christina's idol which IV was so Hell bent on her being a buddy with. Well I hope IV is happy Christina is nothing just like Steffans is. Remember as Lisa 1 pointed out when they looked it up on the internet being a prostitute isn't always just about selling yourself for sex....LOL

I just visited her website, http://www.karrine.com/
Why on earth would Iyanla set Christina up with that ho?
Didn't she do her homework?

it's KarRine.com rather than karinNe.com! be warned though -- the odd language site you landed on is much more pleasant... LOL.

Staceeturner,

I'm not sure what's wrong with that link, but I had the same problem. Not to worry -- if you goggle her (warning - you may feel an inexplicable need to shower when you've finished your search), you'll find plenty of sites that will repeat the same info over and over.

I did find a few offerings that were interesting.

Apparently, the new and improved St. Karinne is outraged that a porn video she made back in 1999-2000 is being released by "Vivid Video". Her holiness is furiously denouncing this release because, "that was back when I was a cokewhore...but Vivid makes it look like a new tape. I have better sex tapes at home. I could make a ton off them". Vivid is making it look like a new tape? Does she really believe that her relatively meager fan base consists of people who may confuse the prostitute/porn actress of 2000 with the activist/author/saint of 2006?

Karinne, write this down: your career is based on exploitation, not acting ability and not literary skill. Your tell-all book appeals to a voyeuristic curiosity, and that's what you're banking on. That's right Karinne, the term "Superhead" is something you've used - quite literally - for all it's worth, and now you'd like to box it up and bury it in on another planet. Well, that's not reality. You gathered your material as Superhead, and then you changed identities and became Karinne, exposing, in graphic detail, your raunchy and dehumanizing encounters with men who couldn't resist your charms. Why would anyone, least of all Vivid Video, give a second thought to your image concerns?

OK - are you guys ready for a punchline? Here it is: "I don't make money off of sex anymore". Yep - that's straight from the whore's - oops, I mean "horse's" - mouth.

Really? So it's safe to assume that the movie rights she sold for a whopping $7.3 million will guarantee the production of a film that will be something other than a rehashed, reformatted sleaze-fest? Maybe we can look forward to a documentary offering Karinne's take on famine relief in third world countries or medical advancements in the 21st century? Her web-site does highlight Karinne's claims of being a gifted intellectual.

Clear out some space on the bookshelf! Karinne says, "I'm an author - that's what I've always been in my head...That's where I'm going to stay. There will be plenty of books to come."

Move over John Grisham and Stephen King. Superhead is at the keyboard!

Sorry about that. I've now updated my post to include the correct link. I left out the / at the end of her link. Now that I've added it, my link will take you right to her website.

actually the problem was that the link was Karinne with two N's rather than Karrine with two Rs. Not the /.

However a search of Superhead did net the same results.

IV wasn't the only one that got it wrong. Did you see her on Oprah?

tmj212 was Iyanla on Oprah recently? What was she there for?

To hawk her book, I'll bet! That's why I don't watch Oprah anymore. Her show are either all about some celebrity. Or, some sensationalistic, usually sleazy, topic.

Sorry for the confusion--Superhead (looking a lot more trashy than her appearance on SO)was on Oprah, not IV.

IF you believe the spoilers posted about Christine at the time her segment was airing - and now is no longer a spoiler - Christine DID go work for Superhead for a short period of time. She looked after Superhead's kid and was seen in a store with her post SO.

Apparently it didn't work out and Christine retreated back home, rumor had it to work at a local Hooters.

This part, I believe was pure rumor. She is working, part time, for her dad building computers and making and selling things on eBay. I am hoping that gal gets herself to school this fall. She is very bright and ambitious and can go as far as she wants to. I'm glad she's home with her family and it's obvious she is a devoted mother with a very happy son.

Yesterday, I caught part of the rerun of Karrine Steffans on the Tyra Banks show. In which Karrine was whining about all the "lies" written about her in the media and insisting that everything she wrote about everyone in her book was true. And, she only put their names in her book because the publisher insisted? Yeah, right! A book she dedicated to the last person she'd ever want knowing about her past. Her son! And, Karrine even asserted that she wasn't ashamed of her past. And, Iyanla was upholding her as a role model for Christina. Gad!
