"LC's Accountability to HGs"

What responsibility do the LCs have to the HGs when they know issues will overlap, such as Cassie's giving her son up for adoption and Antonia's abandonment issues with her father. I'm sure they gathered extensive background information on the women individually and hopefully reviewed the grouping of the women assigned to the house at the same time.

Is it any surprise that Antonia strongly identified with Cassie's son and projected her disappointment and confusion onto Cassie? Why didn't the LCs see this coming? They should have known that Cassie's story might trigger this type of behavior in Antonia.

They also allowed a woman (can't remember her name) that had been involved in an affair with a married man, to enter the SOH the same time Kim and Towanda were there, even though they were dealing with "Daddy's unfaithfulness" issues. Maybe this is done intentionally to boost ratings but it can be detrimental to the women and to the process.

I won't try to defend Antonia's tone or her anger. However, I feel she was totally justified in asking questions because no one fully explained Cassie's issues/story before they sprung the whole reunification event on the house. As usual, Rhonda was absolutely useless except for her judgemental attitude and lack of understanding. Hopefully, Iyanla will be more effective in putting this in the proper perspective for Antonia and addressing her separation/abandonment concern with her father.

I think it's good that they are on opposite sides of the fence. Makes for better understanding, as well as a heckuva lotta fun for the viewers.

This is all true. Don't you think they know people's stories will clash together. What better people to work out your issues with then with someone who triggers your buttons.

Seems to me that most of the time in the house is spent trying to reach these emotions. Even when someone is able to say "I'm angry about..." doesn't mean that they are fully cognizant or in touch with the depth, intensity or all the nuances of their feelings. Often walls of protection have been built and denial is a factor. I guess the theory is that you must allow yourself to be overtaken by them, or at least know them very intimately so they can be dealt with once and for all. If someone is sitting across from you mirroring your every horror, you're going to get there quicker.

I have one big problem with this. Most things can't be taken care of "once and for all". The women might have a breakthrough and a few womderfully cathartic moments followed by a temporary euphoria, but the anger is still there. The only thing they've done is given it a name which granted, is a powerful thing but there are no "happily ever afters". The scars and hurts remain and, for most truly traumatic things, must be dealt with over the course of a lifetime. The "process" isn't the starting over house. The "process" is life.
