"The Starting Over Drinking Game"

Posted by Jatoha on 03-31-06 at 00:27 AM
Hi, please don't take offense at me making light of drinking, I mean this as a joke!

This week when I was watching SO they showed a shot of that Buddha statue for the one Billion-enth time and I remembered in college there was a game that we played where we drank to the Bob Newhart show when people would say certain things.

So, I thought, wow if I drank everytime they showed that Buddha and Angel statue I could have a serious binge going here!! Don't get me wrong, I'm not drinking in the middle of the day!! haha

So, if I were going to create the Starting Over drinking game, we would drink when we see the Buddha and Angel statue and what else?

How 'bout everytime they show the clouds going by in fast forward?

What are your ideas?

No offense taken by me. Back in the day I would have had a blast with this game.

So maybe every time someone says, "I'm standing in my truth" everyone takes a drink.

Or every time Kelly frowns - we'd all be gone in the first ten minutes.

We could use sparkling cider just for fun and pretend we're getting drunk

every time they show those damn ceramic pears...I think they're on the coffee table, or something. They are weird colors; gold, orange, etc...

Before someone does possibly take offense and fill my, and other mod's, mailboxes with warnings... A number of established forums here have variations of the "drinking game".

So, as far as we're concerned, this is a fine suggestion for a "game". Whether you choose to participate, or not, is entirely up to you. We're all about individual choices and accountability.

Obvious disclaimer, not entirely tongue in cheek... Of course, we do not, as individuals, a site, or as any other sort of entity, individually, or collectively, condone the misuse of any substance - be it drugs, alcohol, food, or water. Any and all of which may be harmful or deadly in certain amounts or combinations.

Any participation in any game of this sort is undertaken by the participant at their own risk, and the site, site owner, forum moderators, other posters, advertisers, and anyone else connected with the site in any way, directly, or peripherally, are to be held blameless for any injuries sustained by, or caused by, the participant(s).

We do not officially condone the abuse of any substances and we officially support local, state, and federal laws regarding substance abuse and public safety.

Any participant of a game such as this, regardless of the substance they choose to drink or ingest, is undertaken solely at the risk of the participant(s).

In other words, if you choose to take a drink of water (or anything else) every time they show the Buddha statue, feel free. But, if you get sick or die from water poisoning (yes, you can) it's not our fault.

How about everytime you hear a HM's name or LC's name? or everytime they show the pool, garden, or stairs? even when someone is on the phone.

p.s. I remember playing Bob (Bob Newhart) twenty some years ago what a riot!

Thanks, Mysticwolf, I guess I'm used to participating in forums where someone takes offense at a joke and starts a flame war. I've lurked here for awhile and I'm impressed with the way you keep folks from getting out of hand!

How about every time Iyanla refers to a HG as "Miss" whoever?

Dang, I hate that!! Miss Lisa, Miss Allison...Jeez! That's new this season.

Hmm...what else...we could just take a drink whenever one of the HGs takes a drink!! We'd be sloshed in 10 minutes!! All of us!! You, me, Kim, etc!

-when Kelly pulls her hair
-when Cassie's head moves one way but her eyes move the other
-when you can see more than one bulge in Jodi's clothes
-if Jodi holds hands with a HM or visitor
-melodramatic teaser during commercial
-show proves that melodramatic teaser was misleading

How about anytime someone says "Being present in the moment"

Anytime the housemates are drinking. Which seems to be often!

Oh and of course "Be a great day!"

Last night I remembered something about the Bob Newhart game, I think you would drink at one line and then pass the bottle at another line.

I love the Lisa nodding in agreement one---if we passed the bottle for that one, it'd be going around the room so fast no one would get a drink!

How about everytime they mention using their "tools",
or everytime they are told about something and they say "yay" like they are 7 year olds going to the circus. It should be a double shot everytime Rhonda and Iyanla say "yay" and clap using only their palms.

Jessica - LOL. I forgot about how comical that was watching Iyanla yesterday "clapping with her palms"

Lovemydogdude and Twinkles - you're both hilarious. I was trying to think of things that would have everyone sloshed in 5 minutes, and those would pretty well do it.

Oh and this one, everytime Lisa2's bangs are in her eyes.

- Everytime Rhonda makes someone wear some sort of homemade adhesive on themselves
- Everytime a LC sends a HG to a dating event of some sort
- Iyanla acts as if every decision is literally life or death
- Kim (God bless her) says the word (own or owning)
- Jodi is shown eating something
- The HGs don't proclaim they can't make a decision w/o talking to their LC first

Where did you find the Kelly graphic?

I needed the laugh. I went back and read all the posts.. I didn't even notice the botox before. Those eyebrows are hiked all the way up to her hairline this week. I don't know what they use to do that!

"have a needle-free day" should be her motto

Everytime a HG is required to get in a cage, mud, water, or other unpleasant type of area that has no reasonable explanation other than to please the LC kinky needs.

Every time IV starts one of her high priestess mumbo jumbo pyscho babbles. I'd say we'd be drunk all the time but she hasn't been on as much.

Every time the HG start one of their gossip sessions instead of doing a productive activity.

Every time we see people driving in a car for no reason at all other than they have no activities to show us.

I am a huge LUGOSI fan, and one of the lines he said when he played DRACULA to Renfield when he (DRACULA) had passed through a web with a spider on it was (the line was a subtle hint as to Renfield's demise):

"The spider--spinning his web for the unwary fly.."

WELL? Is it them ..or us?

Namaste.

I was wondering why the forum was closed on the drinking.
I don't know if Kim realizes it or not but , blacking out
while in a drunk stupor is a hugh sign of alcoholism.

"RE: The Starting Over Drinking Game"
Posted by mysticwolf on 04-07-06 at 02:33 AM
There have been a number of threads about the drinking locked, because they are duplicates of threads ongoing in the IHG Forum.

This thread is a "game". One often played in college, where someone takes a drink of whatever the medium happens to be every time something happens. It's not a discussion of the drinking episode on the show.
