"Lawon."

Have you ever watched a late 80s-early 90s movie with a comic relief sidekick? The kind explicitly designed to be kicked to the side around two-thirds of the way through, generally by getting killed so the hero can have that last gasp of motivation for the final action sequence? The one who spends all his screen time tossing around weak jokes as if each impact would take out a city block, then laughing at his own material just because no one else would? A walking advancement for whatever horrific stereotype was on the writer's mind at the moment? And you watch him on the screen and you feel offended. Dirtied by his mere presence. You want to punch Tracy Morgan in the face and you're not sure why. They you are sure why and change it to a knee in the crotch. And you wait for that magical two-thirds mark in the picture so the sidekick can die. Not to give the hero any motivation. (He's going to rack up a billion dollars in last act property damage no matter what happens. It's that kind of script.) But because once he's gone, the stupid lines and horrible outfits and finding himself the most amusing thing in creation will finally stop. Unless the writer brings him back as a ghost. Then you're screwed.

Why bring this up in a thread about Lawon?

No reason...

I was wondering where I recognized him from.

I want to get ahold of his suitcases and burn all his clothing.

The resulting fumes might be the only thing that could finish off the ants once and for all. Oh, and they'd also end all life on Earth, but there are days when that starts to seem like a side benefit.

I keep waiting for him to declare he's not going to break character until he records the DVD commentary.
