*facepalm*

The sad part: it's hard not to see this an improvement.

If his name is any indication (Big Dick Johnson) we should be in for a good 4 knuckle ride.

I agree that it will be an improvement. Following an actual storyline (rather than the clusterfudge it currently is) is definitely a step forward. Right?

The semi-open admission of 'Yes, we try to script this: so what?' has been to seen as -- well, if not an improvement, then at least a very rare moment of honesty. Years after the FCC called them pro wrestling in a house, they finally took another step towards truly going for it...

He'll probably be in nominal charge of DR manipulation, putting interesting confessional words in people's mouths, and some classic Britney-screwing putting footage out of order. And all things considered, he should fit right in.

The promos are promising us the most shocking twists ever. So he's already on the job. And in mid-season lying form!

Do you think the seven-year rule is in effect?

most shocking twists ever alone is proof someone with half a braincell is in charge, nominal or otherwise. *huge eyeroll*

He's prolly promised the powers that be that he can summon an alien, create an amnesiac, and get 3 HG's pregnant all in the first month (1 of them male).

What they really need is a new game creator. No wait. A ton of C4. That could really make things a whole lot better.

Maybe he's just going to script Julie's lines. In which case it will be an improvement.

"This week, a Cage fight between Big Momma and Crazy Larry for HOH, and I ChenBot Julie will make the calls! This WILL be the greatest fight OF ALL TIME, followed by a Twist! That's right folks, right on this stage, in this ring, Pernicious Pam will put the Pretzel hold on her own self! That's right..her..own... self."

God help BB if they're actually gonna use one of McMahon's old scriptwriters. How low can they sink? This show is already incredibly stupid, if they use a WWE scriptwriter to do ANYTHING it will prove Grodner's last functioning brain cell just died. Jeez, how stupid can this woman be?

Well, with a profit margin of about a million bucks a minute (give or take), stupid isn't the right description. Much nearer brilliant than stupid.

The audience, on the other hand...

She has no incentive to improve. As long as Julie Chen hosts and the ratings beat out the average infomercial, the show won't be canceled. No matter how many protests are generated from what airs, regardless of the contestants turning the prison system into a personal All-Stars reunion, there will be no backlash from the network. Essentially, she's landed in a situation where she gets bonuses based on the strength of the last failure. Given that, why turn things around? She gets paid the same for a weak effort as a strong one: exertion becomes pointless, and the spiral continues down.
