Beloved Husband and I were talking about this last night...
pick anything you want, what do YOU want to hear them each sing?

Deanna - You've Lost That Lovin Feeling, Righteous Bros
JD - Only Wanna Be With You - Hootie and the Blowfish
Jessica - Landslide, Stevie Nicks
Jordis - Tiny Dancer, Elton John
Marty - When I Look To The Sky, Train
Mig - What It Takes, Aerosmith
Suzie - She Talks To Angels, Black Crowes
Ty - Watching The River Run, Loggins and Messina

I'm really interested to see what the rest of you come up with =)
Thanks for the effort in advance!

Tamena

Ignore Dikc, aka Mr. Onomatopoeia. He isn't welcome around here. Maybe that "you are what you eat" applies.....

A couple of posts have been removed from this thread for violating guidelines.

(That's part of the reason we ask posters to alert the mods instead of addressing a problem themselves - if we have to remove posts, there's less likelihood of a disjointed conversation.)

Thanks for keeping things sane around here guys.
I started this thread for fun, not abuse.

I love your sig about karma! (It seems especially appropriate right now...) Are those your words, or a quote from someone? It's very good.

the gentleman that originally stated that little gem would be a poster by the name of Occulis on a board I've been a member of for many many years.
I love it too =)

Great choice!

I'll have to think about this first, but wanted to say I agree with your choice of song for Suzie.

Syren rocks.

Some of your choices don't seem "rock" enough to me. But they could have fun rearranging them!

My picks are more general...

I would love to hear some Guns N Roses, Soundgarten, Living Colour, LEd Zepplin, J Geils Band, Hole, and maybe some Who.

Look at me I got a Sweet Summer Syren Siggie!

Whoa!
I was off making my list before you posted, and saw your post AFTER I posted my list! You know what they say about great minds... We have similar thoughts about bands they need to cover!

I'd like to hear JD take on something by Stone Temple Pilots. Marty - Bush, Glycerine (sp.?)
Mig - maybe some classic Led Zep
Ty - Lenny Kravitz, Fly Away

I guess I don't really have any suggestions for the girls.

Hey, Tamena, you beat me to it! I was thinking of starting a similar thread, of songs I wanted to hear sung (by anyone, not assigned to a particular contestant.)

For starters, I'd like someone to sing:

"I Can't Quit You Baby" by Led Zeppelin

"Crazy On You" by Heart

"White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane

"I Am, I Said" by Neil Diamond

"Redemption Song" by Bob Marley

"Fell On Black Days" by Soundgarden

"Love Rears It's Ugly Head" by Living Colour

"Love Hurts" by Nazareth

"Manic Depression" by Jimi Hendrix

"Black Coffee In Bed" by Squeeze

"Bittersweet" by Big Head Todd & The Monsters

"Smooth" by Santana (with Rob Thomas)

"Rudie Can't Fail" by The Clash

"Infected" and/or "Sorrow" by Bad Religion

"Tell Me Something Good" by Rufus

"It's A Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown

"Papa Don't Take No Mess" by James Brown

Anything By James Brown

(OMG, can you just imagine? They need to get some funk into that place! INXS music can get funky, and they've been mostly concentrating on rock in their song selection. I say, do an acoustic night, and do a funk night!)

I hope there is a PA on the show, whose sole reason for existence is to read message boards about the show, to bring back feedback and ideas!

I do think Ty would be great doing any Squeeze song!

Yeah!

Every song on my list has something in common--a strong melody. It's time to separate the singers from the vocalists.

I'd say "Jane Said" but not holding my breath.

"Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails/Johnny Cash.

"Doll Parts" and "Violet" by Hole.

"Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden.

"Criminal" by Fiona Apple.

"#####" by Meredith Brooks.

"Lust for Life" by Iggy Pop.

"Piece of My Heart" by Janis Joplin.

Ooo, any Jane's Addiction would be very daring, wouldn't it? Even more so than Chili Peppers. I always think of Jane's first when I think of Navarro.

"Love Hurts" by Nazareth

Fabulous suggestion, make 'em cry...

I'd like to see them sing things that maybe aren't really in their niches...see what they'd do with them. Stuff they wouldn't be belting out kinda.

I really hope they do go with the acoustic idea from this week though

The specific songs....I don't know. But I would like to see them sing more songs in the era of INXS. Seems the songs are much older or too current. There has been some REM, a Romantics song, Summer of 69, and Voilent Femmes song but that is about it. Considering the amount of songs performed that aint many. I wish they would pick songs more similar to INXS's style.

Also, I think having theme nights might be kinda cool. The songs are all over the place.
