Suzie sings REM's "Losing My Religion" one of my all time favorites. She sounds monotone to me.
JD helped her with the arrangement. The band liked it.
I really liked Suzie's performance. I usually have nothing to say about her, she's blah to me. But I thought she was good tonight.
Maybe I just don't like someone messing with one of my all time favorites.
I'm with Dave "Call Me Paula" Navarro--I was worried when she said she wanted to rearrange that song, which is a beautiful song. She did a good job with it--she didn't make an extreme change, like giving it a reggae beat or something. I liked her hair, too! I think this and her sing for salvation performance of "Never Tear Us Apart" are her best.
I thought it was a good performance for her.
Deanna is smokin, oh she can sing too. Ty wasn't to bad either.She won't win , but i will still watch.
MIG sings "All Right Now" by Free. He does well with just about any song in my opinion.
INXS loves him, but they want him to fight for his song to sing and not to just settle for a song.
I agree with them that I would like to see MiG do a different type of song for a change. We already know he can do this kind.
Allow me to be shallow for a moment. JD has a buzz cut now, and he looks friggin HOT!!!!!

I thought it was a great performance. But then I usually like JD. Except for that Queen one.
I was not impressed with JD's performance. He seemed to be forcing it, except for the chorus. But he does look hot with the buzz cut.

I seem to disagree with INXS and Dave a lot on their opinions of performances. I thought Jessica was good. She wasn't trying to sing like Kurt, she was singing like Jessica. I liked that. *shrug*

It looked like Dave Navarro was trying to put his fingers in his ears at one point, thought better of it and just grimaced during Jessica's performance.

Holy hamstrings, Batman!She might not have much personality (not sure I would know anyway) but she has a fantastic body. A *real* body. I was amazed at how muscular her legs were. Not scrawny model chicken legs. Nice.

This is the first time I didn't like a Jordis performance.And I noticed the evil eye from Jessica when INXS assured Jordis it would be a long time till they heard her sing an INXS song.

Hey, did anyone else think she was constricted by her outfit? She's used to singing in loose t-shirts and sweats, which allows her to really fill her lungs. She seemed not able to do that in her corset, and near the end she sort of gave up on hitting a high note.

Shouldn't be -- if you're breathing is good, you should be able to do it in anything.
(Besides, that's not a 'real' corset -- too stretchy. Try singing opera while REALLY laced into muslin & steel -- no hooks, no elastic.)
Generally, her technique is pretty good, so I think she was just a little skittish using that part of her voice -- she's got it, she just doesn't often call on it. Just sounded like nerves to me.
I think she's an awesome singer...but I still want to see her 'perform' more. Vocally, she's worlds beyond the other women...but she still kinda bores me. Sorry, I know that's not a popular opinion.
Brandon does the Stone's song It's All Over Now. The band says he is not versatile enough and needs to mix it up more.
I hate Brandon. He needs to go audition for some country group. Hearing him sing actually makes me cringe.

It's funny that you mention the accent thing. I have noticed that a couple of times, too. But I wasn't sure what to think. Is he just trying to *stylize* the words and they come out sounding like a bad british accent? It seems random and really sticks out in the song.

I liked Marty's performance tonight, too. He sang well, and I didn't realize he was that good on guitar. (I'm glad he's been wearing eyeliner--it helps him not look so washed out. I think part of people's problem with him, is that he's so pale and has that thin, blond, stringy hair.) I've heard of The Killers, but I'm not familiar with their music, so I have no comparisons to make in that area.
I love Neal. Neal is a Rock God. INXS does not deserve him.

It was a fantastic performance. But then I have always thought Ty had a great voice. I just don't see him being right for INXS.

This is a reggae song that sounded, in Ty's hands, like any other run of the mill ballad. He sang it like he was Harry Connick Jr or Barbra Streisand.
He just flattened them with hairspray -- he did that the last REM song he sang too.
This week they are going to give the early voting results on the air.

It is a shame that most of the babies in the audience didn't recognize it. That song was first performed by Mick and the boys before the members of INXS were even born. They should not post songs, then complain that it does not match their style of music!

Have you ever attended a live Stones performance? If you have then I fail to understand how you could say that Brandon did not nail his performance.
I could see myself listening to Jordis sing one song (last week her performance almost made me cry - it was awesome)and Brandon perform for an entire night. I could also see myself spending money to see Marty and Mig perform. Maybe JD, but his ego completely turns me off so I probably would not spend the money.
I do not even like TY as I think he screams and does not sing, however, I would be remise if I did not acknowledge that his performance last night was the best one of all. It was nice to see him actually sing a song and not scream. I can now see that he does indeed have talent. Though I would not pay to see him sing he deserves praise for a job well done last night.
Obviously, INXS thought that every participant in this show had talent or they would not be there in the first place.
It is my hope that something good comes out of their experiences on this show for each and everyone of them.
Who will win? I do not see any of the female performers winning in the end. I think that the last 3 standing will be Marty, Mig and JD. I do not see JD fitting in with the band in the long-run because his ego is too big and the band is not looking for someone who will be competing for attention.
Having said that I have no clue whether it will be Marty or Mig but both of them would fit well with INXS.
Opinions are not about who is right or who is wrong because there is no right and wrong in them. In this case we are simply gonna have to agree to disagree.

As I recall it, what the vocal coach said, and it was just one guy, was that Brandon has the biggest voice POTENTIAL, if he worked hard to bring it out.
Jordis just the other day turned 23???That means she's young enough to be the daughter of the original band members? There's something very weird and very wrong with that.
How can this possibly be the band for her? She's not really a serious contender - this show is just showcasing her talent. There's got to be a better fit for her in the music world than this - just because of age alone.
I would have to disagree about Jordis' looks.I think she is incredibly beautiful. She does not use sex to sell a song, only her voice which I find very emotional and pure.

To me Jordis sings with so much more soul than any of the others. I don't think she is right for INXS but she has a great career ahead of her.
